How do you all think the universe is ultimately going to end? People have tons of theories, but no one knows for sure until it happens. Personally, I believe in the Revelation (Biblical) but that dosen't mean some of the other stuff should be left alone.

It litterally dosen't destroy anything but the Human race (and several other animal species) the end of the world is a term that's often used to signify the end of mankind, and does not always mean the literal end of the world.

The only way I know that the actual fabric of the universe can actually be destroyed is through a hypothetical vacuum metastability event. This is a bit hard to explain, but theoretically what we know as reality could be a false vacuum. If that is true, it could "implode" into a new reality, changing all the constants of nature, effectively changing the laws of nature. Matter would form new structures, and interact in a different fashion (needless to say, this makes any currently existing forms of life impossible, since new breeds of atoms would form and old ones become impossible) Such an event would propagate outwards at the speed of light like a bubble, destroying reality as we know it in it's path.

I personally think the Earth will try and correct itself through natural disasters.

Kinda like with the dinosaurs. They were major huge herbivores and carnivores. Eating all the plants and meat.. I mean to me the huge meteor theory is not very possible.. If one big enough to wipe out all of those massive creatures.. There would be a very noticeable huge crater in the ground that would still be around today.

But that's just what I think..

An end game can metaphorically apply to a whole plethora of situations, typically relating to some sort of strategy or plan. The destruction of the universe or world isn't one of them, but this is AF.

It could apply if you presuppose one or more deities, and argue that a splodeing the world/universe would be the end of whatever divine game they're playing. Of course there is a lot of unwarranted assumptions in that view.

But I came in here expecting chess and it's not and that annoys me and when I'm annoyed, something or someone needs to blow up and this topic is about the world ending and so I thought "Hey... I'm an advocate of the universal destruction theory. Mankind will survive as long as the universe survives. So assuming we get into space we can abuse whatever we want with little to no environmental effects on ourselves.

Of course, that presents new obstacles we have yet to overcome, like radiation, birth in space, utilizing foreign resources.

We'll get there. Not now, but someday. The way I see it, the only viable method of eliminating humanity on the planet Earth is for humanity to effectively manifest in space. Sociology and other factors go into the idea. But who really knows, right? At the rate we're going, we're going to die 10 5 years ago. Every year the scientists predict doomsday. I say the world will end by Global warming. The planet will enter another phase (similar to the Ice age) and everyone will die, while the geography of the Earth will completly change. Then, eventually, a new life form will appear...or not.
