Accents

I have a very Asian accent when I talk to fellow Malaysians and Singaporeans.
But when I'm in Aussie, I pick up a bit of their accent.
I'm fine with both.

I have a heavy southern accent and I wouldn't trade it for the world...(well maybe the world but you know what I mean)

If I do have an accent, I've never noticed it, no matter how many times I've heard recordings of my voice. I have gotten a wide range of comments on from other people though who've heard it. Some have said British, some have said Southern, and a couple said I sound creepy or stalker-ish(if that counts). And of course there's the lot of people who say I don't really have an accent and I agree with them.

Some people also say I seem to have a heavier voice than they'd expect.

Being raised an Army Brat I've have an american-mutt accent.
People in the South think I have a Northern/Midwestern accent.
People in the North think I have a Southern accent.
Basically they notice the part that is unfamiliar to them.

I guess I like it okay, it's mine, so if I didn't like it I'd have to fake some other accent, and that doesn't seem worth the effort.

People here in NZ think I sound American.

And Americans say I sound like an Aussie.

I prefer my accent over a South African accent.

I have a Bronx accent and it is fearsome to a few. However, some find it lovable also. I'm quite content as a result.

People in rl and AF [who constantly calls me] says I have an accent. And they like it 'cause they think it sounds so cute and whatnot.
I actually do like my British accent, it's pretty heavy and my voice is quite high, so people mistaken me for being 5 or 10.
But it can be hard for them to understand what I'm saying because I'm always squeaky when I'm shy and hyper when I'm happy. >>

I live on Long Island, NY. So I don't have that Brooklyn accent everyone stereotypes the area with.

But, that's probably the closest thing to an accent I have, I guess.

I just have a simple, and average English accent.

I reside in south-east England, some miles away from central London, and here everyone just speaks the plain English accent, the one that is known most of all. Not the cockney one, the one like which James Bond/ Jason Statham/ Gandalf (Ian Mckellen) possess.

I'm welsh but I don't have the accent most of the time. Least, it doesn't sound like what typical 'welsh' accents are - usually those are South Walian like in the Only Gay In the Village sketches by Little Britain. Northern Welsh accent is more plodding, less sing song. Some words sound really welsh, like school which I pronounce 'schoo-wel' and Wales I say 'way-yals'.

My boyfriend has a Northern slight Scouse accent so I've picked that up a tad. Especially when I'm annoyed. Voice goes all high and scousey.

I guess you could say I have a midwestern accent, since that is where I am from, but I really don't think I have one. Unless I go to the south, I really do not notice a difference from how I speak among someone else. I don't really substitute words or anything either, other than "soda," where as I say "pop."

Well, people can hear that I am not from a english speaking country so I assume that I have a "swedish-accent", how now that sounds.. and besides that I have an fairly large dialect from the area from where I was born. Here we say its a typical "farmer-dialect". So... too outsiders/ and others I assume that I sound like a typical swedish farmer when I am talking? ^_^

My Portuguese accent can be very funny sometimes. even here in portugal, the south people make fun of my accent, because for the south people, (the people from the capital, Lisbon) the people from the north (i am from the north of the country) are rustic and that they are the elegant and smart.

I used to have British accent when speaking English because I studied at where British English was being taught. And now, people often get confuse about my accent, it sounds American, but sometimes it sound British.

Well, I don't see myself as having one but since I'm from Australia I guess I have an Australian accent.

It doesn't matter to me, I've never been outside the country.

Anyway, I never really noticed I had one...I guess we have a Main(A)er accent...where words that end in a 'R' We say a 'A' like Campa....or you coming on in the winta? Rofl XDD

I'v been to South Carolina, and I must say I'v never heard people with Southern Accents, ti's different compared to what I am used too ^^
