id rather pick fish, there not hard to watch after than hamsters. but fish you can't really play with you just watch them lol.

my uncle used to have hamsters and they were ummm alright? i mean as pets they suck. Same with fish, they suck, you cant even play with your fish :\

I wouldnt get any and if i had to choose.. id choose to live with no pets XD

Woo a thread inspired by my thread! Let's see. At the moment, I have 2 fish. And no hamsters. But, there are ups and downs to them both

Hamster pros:
cuter
fuzzy
you can hold it in your hand without it getting all dead.

Hamster cons:
cleaning cages
have to have constant attention

Fish Pros:
Don't need as much time
pretty (sometimes)
don't have to worry about them getting loose

Fish Cons:
cleaning fishtank
can't hold 'em

so, there's things that are good about each one, and things that aren't so good about each one. It really depends on how commited you are to them. But, I'd have to say hamsters since they're so cute.

I know of a cat that dates fish. For that reason I will say that I definitely prefer fish.

I choose hamsters because their cage is easier to clean, and it doesn't smell as bad as a dirty fishtank. And some fish tend to attack each other for some reason.

Well, I have a guinea pig which is basically a giant hamster but less cute, and I kinda hate her ~___~ She kicks woodchips all over the place, squeals, and makes a mess >>
So I'd choose the fish since they're pretty and don't make as much of a mess.

Hamsters definitely!
cuz you can cuddle with them in your palm! And teach it tricks! Fish are boring, since all they do is swim all day and stare at you with huge fish eyes.

There isn't much of a comparison. I mean...you can't pet a fish, the fact that they can be cute but constantly swim in a cesspool of bacteria is kind of a turn off, and they can't really be affectionate, or appear to be at least. So yeah...hamsters

I've had both.

And I'd say that fish tanks are a lot more work to clean, and it smells if you don't clean it. But I suppose the latter goes for hamster cages as well...

Hmmm... I really loved my piranhas!! But my hamsters were cute too!!
