Saddest episode.

I am glad to see I wasn't the only one that cried a lot in ep 25, I felt so silly because I just couldn't stop, I was a mess for the whole end of the episode, very depressing.
Also, yes episode 7 with Nina was sad too, especially because even as a Chimera, Nina still called Ed Little Big Brother, and Ed's reaction when Scar killed her/ put her out of her misery, really got to me, it was so heartbreaking.

My Vote is 7 because i have oly seen up to ep 19. But the way people describe it, it sounds very sad too.

i think the one where hughes dies is the saddest it was a good way by the makers to show that anyone can die in the show and wat better way to do it than kill off the funniest kindest charactor in it and the main charactor

The sadest episode of full metal alchemist would have to be the episode were Ed dies, I think it was 49 but I'm not sure about that. Ed can't die, he was too awesome... luckilly he came back better than ever.

i cried for both of those episodes. i watched ep 25 today actually and i got all teary eyed. it really gets to you.

That episode was horrible. It made me tear up a bit. After watching that, I didn't watch FMA again for about a year.

Both are very powerful emotionally...and two of my absolute favorites because of it... but I'd say 25 takes the title, it hits a reality nerve very strongly.

i think the saddest episode that i have watched is the death of maes hughes...i thought i would cry coz he died while serving the government,poor elicia and gracia-his daughter and wife-even mustang cried because of his death.....

I would have to agree on episode 25 because, it's just very heart breaking to hear Al say things like that about himself. Also the suffering he goes through in that episode dose not help.

Definitely going to agree with ep. 25 because Hughes was one of the best characters. ESPECIALLY, because of the way he just loved his daughter so much, and for her to lose such a loving father. Oh, that really was sad.

And of course episode 51 is a given. I don't want to say why because some of you may have not seen it yet but it is truly one of the sadder episodes, even if it is the last.

I definitely have to agree with episode 7. I know it's not real, but I'd just be amazed if someone would do that to their family. Sad, sad, twisted episode.

I'm gonna have to say the episode where Scar kills Nina as a chimera, was ranked #3 saddest for me. The second saddest was when Hughes died, I almost cried. But the top-most saddest was the very last episode. SPOILERS BELOW!







It broke my heart when Al sacrificed himself to bring back Ed..And then Ed transmuted himself to the other side of the gate to bring Al back. The saddest part was when Ed found out that he was in the "alternate" world, with his dad, and alchemy was useless. The Elric brothers were so close that it was heart-breaking to see them separated.
