I doubt that handwritten material will ever go out of style in the near or mid-distant future.

The problem with making guesses about the future is that people think too futuristic. You think in a decade in a half we're going to go from cars as they look now to futuristic curvodynamic vehicles. They also thought that was going to happen a decade and a half ago from now.

You obviously still do not get the point that I was getting at. I never did state that technology has not advanced extremely fast, but instead I just stated that it has advanced slower than what the public assume. Looking back on your post now it just appears that you were just twisting my words.

Congratulations on missing the point. 30 years ago, the only thing that was computerized was computers and they fell into two categories: desk top size and lame, or large and somewhat less lame. Now a mid-level car has more computing power then an Apple II.
Remmeber, there is not much of a difference between a car and a horse and carriage, they both fill out the same purpose, it is just the advancements that our race has though up. It is the same thing with old and new computers, minus the internet and such. As a matter of fact there is no really big difference between a womans handbag and a car. Both are methods of making things easier to carry, the only major difference is that one has an engine, wheels, and seats for the lazy bearer to sit in so that there is no walking involved.

I don't think I could ever forget to write, but if I still did, I'd learn it again. How hard can it be, I've learned it once already, didn't I?

How so? I'm saying that the public miss-guesses. They are not experts. Ergo, the correct statement would be "Technology advances faster then the public thinks in directions the public can't imagine." I'm sorry if it wasn't clear enough.

You are making an argument by bizarre definition. There are immense differences between a modern car and a horse and carriage. The only thing they have in common is four wheels and a steering mechanism. Technology is more then simply an abstract purpose, it's the complexity used to achieve that purpose.

Let's take your concept to it's illogical extreme: The propose of all technology is to extend human life, either literally or in the sense of efficiency. Now we can clearly see that no real technological advances have occurred since the bone club was invented.

But none of this changes the fact you misunderstood Eris' post.

    'tis quite all right.

You are making an argument by bizarre definition. There are immense differences between a modern car and a horse and carriage. The only thing they have in common is four wheels and a steering mechanism. Technology is more then simply an abstract purpose, it's the complexity used to achieve that purpose.
The point that I was getting across was that with a little genius thinking from a very clever man, one can upgrade a horse and carriage into a carriage that has no need for a hassling horse, one that runs from something other than grass and straw and does not have a mind of its own.

But none of this changes the fact you misunderstood Eris' post.
I did not misunderstand Eris' post, I just simply changed the subject that he/she/it was aiming at and then twisted it to make it seem like I knew what I was talking about....becuase I did not fully understand it. Very well I admit it, but just so that you are aware, if I did have a mind any stronger than it is now I would be lethal.
