It is! It's different than any other anime I've watched. :D

To put it short and sweet, great animation quality, some unique characters and plot devices, as well as really well laid out battle scenes. Death was a really fun idea, and I found all the antagonists were really creatively thought up (Medusa's vector sorcery, Crona's black blood, Giriko's chain blades etc). It made for some wicked sequences.

The only problem I've encountered is that the show hasn't really lived up to a lot of its potential yet with some of the character development. It's got the makings of something really special and everything's laid out and read, so I'm sure it'll grow over time.

Truly a unique anime I love it also, it's different and fun to watch, lots of action, comedy and drama in it = perfect!
Heard it's going to only have like 50+ episodes tho :S hope that changes

It's a 50 episode series.

And it's not that unique. It's pretty generic shounen. It just happens to have some good characters and animation.

Yeah, personally I don't think it's too unique, but I love it nonetheless. It's just fun to watch. Maka's dad is my favourite. He's hilarious. And I like all the kids. I can't pick a favourite...Death The Kid maybe.

Generic here shouldn't be taken in a negative way. I think Xero just means that Soul Eater hasn't done anything revolutionary that other Shonen series haven't already laid the foundations for. The characters follow the same archetypes, the way the battles play out are easy to read and so on, all the high paced action with mostly male protagonists, females with exaggerated characteristics etc. It's all been done, Soul Eater just fares better than most forgettable series.

That doesn't take anything away from it's outstanding animation and all the interesting twists on characters. It's still very entertaining.

If you look closer at the names, you will see that most of the names of the characters in Soul Eater are puns.

yea seriously, the anime is much better looking in every respect. The manga is a very simple drawing style that while it does work well, doesn't compare to the anime.

Woo thats so weird never heard of it on animeforums before, but ive known about it for ages and just when i start watching it someone makes a post.
But so far ive liked it ALOT its sad having to wait for the next episode. I like the uncut, its not much different but i feel im getting more out of it. For some reason i really like maka's voice, dunno why its weird.

Soul Eater is amazing. Really nice animation, the first episode got me hooked.
I love Medusa as a villain, she's one of the most brilliant villains out there, in my opinion, and damn isn't she just stubborn?!

And Excalibur needs more love.
