Bachelor/Bachelorette Parties

Before you get married you'll probably have one. But would you go "traditional" and hire a stripper, or go to a strip club with your entourage? Some weds-to-be are perfectly fine with it. Some get extremely upset, including the significant others of other individuals in the party, not just the groom/bride.

Would you consider it "last minute cheating"? Does it make it okay for men/women to go to strip joints because its "tradition" or a "rite of passage"?

If your partner is so insecure about you that s/he won't let you have a traditional bachelor(ette) party, then you should seriously reconsider whether your relationship is stable enough for long time commitment.

For me, it depends on whether or not the guy I am marrying is okay with it. Personally, I'm not a fan of strippers. Though, I find it highly offensive if a guy I am marrying goes say like, 3 hours before the wedding. But having a stripper at the party wouldn't bother me, as long as it's just dancing and not more VIP treatment, shall I say. I don't see looking at a woman dance as cheating, I find the back room stuff cheating.

You could also turn that completely around. The man said goodbye to other women when you became engaged. There's no reason why the guys can't get together and party all crazy without tramps there.

To be honest, I'm pretty sure would not hire/go to a stripper. That's not really my kind of "stuff" (I'm 23 and nerver went to a strip club... even if most of my friends did go) and I'm pretty sure my G/F would kill me if I did it... LOL! (Joking... but I'm sure she would not like it). I know my G/F would not call a striper too (she went 1 time and really did not like it). But for myself I don,t see it as cheating as long a it's stay a dance.

I don't know if having strippers is really traditional. I think that's more of a modern time sort of thing isn't it? It traditionally was just meant to be a time for a groom to get to spend time with his male friends. I personally find it to be kind of gross, I don't think I would want to marry someone who wanted to have a stripper or prostitute. It's not because I'm particularly territorial, but I honestly would just be grossed out by the thought of another woman touching my "fiancee" in an intimate manner, especially a female who does it for a living.

I also kind of think that if my soon to be husband is truly ready to get married, I should be plenty enough to satisfy him, why would you want to go see some chick that any gross guy can hire? I don't know maybe it's because I'm a girl but that grosses me out.

I definitely wouldn't want strippers of my own I would just prefer movies and drinks with girlfriends, maybe a trip to the spa. I've actually talked to my boyfriend about it, he personally doesn't like strippers at all, and he would rather just hang and play poker with his friends as a bachelor party, but yeah I guess that's my take on it.

There's nothing really special about strippers, it's not even a decent (no pun intended) novelty. So, I would not get one or go to a strip club. If my fiance decided to get some stripper action I'd probably think it's pretty sad, maybe laugh at him even.

Personally, I kind of doubt I'll even have a bachelor party, but I certainly am not interested in strippers. Maybe paintball or something. As far as I'm concerned, if your not sure that one woman is all you'll need to be with, then don't get married.

And as for the argument that you don't actually DO anything with strippers but watch them....the idea of being in a room full of drunken sweaty dudes getting all excited over one or two girls does not appeal to me in any way, either.

As for my significant other, I have a feeling that if she was someone who wanted strippers at her party, our relationship probably wouldn't have progressed as far as marriage anyway...

Strippers, meh. Been there and done that. I'd rather go touring with my friends and family on motorcycles, or just have a crankin' day at the beach. hmm...Motorcycle tour to the beach for fun and food...and then of course a scuba dive wedding, open water.

My cousin's then-fiance, her bachelorette party was playing hide and seek in walmart. My other cousin (his brother) found them in there when he was getting some diapers for his little one. Can you say hillbilly??

Well, I guess in an honest defense, I don't see men who get strippers for bachelor parties as doubtful or unfaithful. It really is a sort of tradition. I know a lot of guys that want to hire one just for the lulz, so they can slap hands with each other and wink over something that really wasn't all that important. I think some men see it as more of a bonding thing.

Not all men. I'm just speaking for the ones I actually know.

Where I work we occasionally get the wholesome bachelor/ette parties. With the exception of one bachelorette party, they've always been very small groups (like 5 guys, max), which always surprised me.
