Got into a minor tussle with my roommate earlier. He's married but his wife is still on the mainland, and he's ultra-protective of her. But I don't see why, considering that he is even afraid of getting her mad.
So why exactly are people protective of their signifigant others, eh? I'm minorly gentlemanly/chivalrous. I'll definitely open a door for a lady and such, and I would definitely fight to protect her if someone was trying to hurt her, but beyond that? I'm not going to beat up some dude or girl because that person is talking about my girlfriend, that's retarded in my opinion.
Also, isn't my girlfriend an adult in her own right? She should be able to handle herself in society, correct?
So, how do you feel about the whole protectiveness issue, and why??
