RPG: Magic Mixer

"Well," Hana stood there, hands on her hips, and shrugged, looking at the other wolves. "I guess I don't have a choice, now, do I?" She paused a second as she looked down at her dress. In all reality, it would be just like it was at the beach. It would be like having a bathing suit on. Only, Hana didn't like bikini's. She was a one-piece girl. But, she knew that she had to keep a mindset that she did like them. With one last sigh of reluctance, she pulled off her dress and wrapped her arms around herself tightly. This was one of the most uncomfortable experiences she could remember.

She looked around for a place to hide and came back to the wolves still standing in front of her. She walked behind them, knealt down and wrapped her arms around one, "You don't mind, do you?" She held him closer, both for warmth and cover. He gave her a bit of security and she let out a deep breath. "This is still a little uncomfortable but it's better then nothing."

[Dr. Hax]

"Found some moss!!! Let's eat, Hana. It's a good thing we're near a damp area, otherwise we wouldn't have plant life at our rea-"

Kevin stopped in mid-sentence and looked at Hana behind one of the wolves. He blushed a bit and said, "It's okay, come on out. There shouldn't be anything to be ashamed of. Besides, I've seen you in a one-piece before and you look good. What makes a two-piece any different?"

He came up next to Hana with the moss and hugged her tight saying, "Have some, it's good."

As Rain began to wondered the streets in closed thought of where he was going to go. Who was going to take him? Who cared whether he was beast or not? A draft of wind picked up and a familiar smelled mixed with odd smells came into his mind. It was blood that stirred his own blood. He knew part of this scent as well. But he shouldn't hunt down this draft because the blood made him want to kill.
He had to fight the excitement, because he could smell death and the hint of death in this. He shouldn't cause more fights especially with this kind of scent.
Especially with who it was. He knew who it was and all he needed to do was find where the scent came from. It led him somewhere barren and rocky. How was he to find anything here?

Kat could see the concern and Xanu's eyes and was kind of surprised he even knew that something was wrong.( or maybe she just was bad at acting.)

She got very close to his face and looked at him as if she was examining his eyes for what seemed like an eternity.

"Baka..." She said as she curled her fist and lightly hit him over the head.

"Don't worry about it."

With that, she put her cheery face back on, and continued to walk down the street. She had way more important issues to handle now, and that was to figure out what her mother was up to..... This whole party thing didn't make sense, and it was even more worrisome that she brought family all the way from Japan to visit. What the hell could she possibly be scheming?

Xanu's heart started to speed up for a moment, but when the fist thumped the back of his head lightly he winced and smiled.

"Hey, at least I cheered you up a bit." He said, picking up pace to continue following her. He wondered what would happen at the party when they got there. He would be watching kats mother carefully, as he did not trust her.

"We'll need to be on guard Kat.. your mother might have given up, then again, maybe not." He sighed, wondering why so many parents felt the need to interfere in a childs love life.

After a few more minutes of walking, he saw Kat stop, looking up at a small house. Well, small compared to what his old home was like.

Which made him like it all the more.

"You ready Kat?" he asked, wondering what awaited them in the house.

Kat left and the guy who had talked to him, the untrustworthy one, followed her. That worked well for Samael, if Kat was distracted with him she would stop butting into his life and stop jarring sleeping memories. It was better this way.

He slipped away before anyone could stop him, he needed to get to class. That took primacy over all other things in his life, including the infernal things known as parties. He wondered if Kat actually thought he was going to show up? If she did she was either stupid or stubborn because she ought to know better than to think for a second he would go to a place with so much noise and so little of any intellectual merit. Besides, the last time he had gone to a party on her request he had nearly drowned.

Somewhere deep inside, the Simulacrum grinned.

Kat took a big gulp as she stared at her front door. It was taunting her....daring her to come in....and meet her fate.

"K-chan!"

A bunch of Kat's family came busting out of the door to greet her and help her in. They were all so exuberant as they chattered away in Japanese. They were aunts, uncles, cousins, and grandparents. All at once they engulfed her with praise, and escorted both her and Xanu into the house.
Kat was quite astonished to find what awaited her inside. Her great grandfather, who was very old in age, was on the floor playing the shamisen, while her great grandmother was dancing in a orange and white kimono while balancing sake cups on her head. Everyone was drunk out of their minds, and the children were running around the house like wild animals.

However, her mother sat at the long kotastu, sober and alert, and smiled accross the room and Kat and Xanu.

"eheheheh....wow....uh...my family really knows how to party." Kat said trying to prevent her jaw from dropping.

Xanu wasnt too startled. He had been in bigger (and when his uncle from Korea came over, drunkenly loader) parties back home in Alkiasa. Still, they were having a blast as far as he could tell...

Then, his brain started kicking in.

He noticed that several of the relatives who were 'drunk' were gazing at him every now and then. Her grandfather seemed to look in Xanu's direction more then the shamisen, though Xanu had to admit he was a skilled player considering he was playing it by memory. That or extremely lucky.

He also noticed that the family members were slowly but surely pushing them towards Kats mother.. and the smile she had set alarms off in his head.

She cant possibly know?! She would have done something back at the shrine, wouldnt she!? His mind started to race, wondering if there would be a way to get out of this.

He noticed Kat was being pushed closer and closer to him, and this was a worse sign. But it also gave him the chance to whisper

"Kat, do all your relatives know your secret? Something isnt right about this, and there may be a way out on your answer...." His plan was that, if not all of her relatives knew, he would use his charm to get her to transform, hopefully stunning them enough to make a break for it. he also figured that since she hadnt transformed today, and because of Samaels dampening ability, she wouldnt faint from the pheramones.

[Sister Nightroad]

Arella gasped and nearly burst into tears. Tahlia hurried to the poor girl tried to comfort her. "Arella. Tell me what happened. What's wrong?" The girl looked up and said, "Kairos said to find a girl named Reina! He said her mind feels the same as his...."

Tahlia groaned. "Tell him that you're going to need more than just the feel of her mind to be able to find her. Actually, you aren't even going to go look for her. If he gives you more details, tell me but for now just stay here and try to persuade him to not try to get out." Tahlia picked up the old food tray and forced a calm feeling into the atmosphere. Just before Tahlia left Arella's cell the girl said faintly, "Tally...um...try not to go...too far okay? Um...I may not be able to reach you if you're too far away..." Tahlia turned around and smiled at Arella. "Alright, I won't be too far away." As she shut the door, the smile faded from her face.

"Kairos...ah...I cannot rely on um...the touch of minds itself...I need more details...By the way, I know you told me not to but...Tally is going to look for that girl now..." Arella felt the calming air around her fade softly, and wiped her eyes.

Before Kat could even answer, the two were forced to sit down at the Kotatsu as everyone cheered.

"Kanpai!!" They said as they helped themselves to more sake.

"Neh neh! everyone!" her mother yelled, and the whole crowd went quiet.

"Today is a glorious day! Today we celebrate K-chan's long awaited independence!"

The crowd momentarily cheered and then silenced once again.

"And I feel so proud to announce to all of you......That Kat will be marrying the Prince of Alkiasa!"

"KANPAI!!!!!!!!" The crowd cheered again and resumed the party once more. They were all so happy and danced with excitement over the news.


"WAIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Who the hell is the prince of Alkiasa?!" At this point, Kat was thoroughly confused.

"Why, your friend Xanu of course. Didn't you know my dear?"


"That's ridiculious....He's not a prince he......."


My parents wanted to marry me off to someone. We have noble blood in our ancestry............

Alright. I'll keep your secret. I swear it on the my... family's ancestors that I will protect you and your secret untill I suffer the worst possible fate.......

Kat slowly turned back over to Xanu. She felt as if all the oxygen had left her lungs, and she was now unable to breath.

"It.......it all makes sense....." she murmered to herself, and then imediately turned to her mother.

"I.....I can't marry a prince!!! That's impossible!!! princes marry princesses! Unless I'm crowned princess of the poor japanese girls this is a total no no!!!"

"He'll marry you unless he wants to go home. I can easily turn him in for the reward. "

At that moment Kat slammed her hands down on the table and stood up.

"I'm not going to sit here and listen to this any more. C'mon Xanu, lets go."

She grabbed Xanu by the hand and managed to get to the door until....

"OSHIRO KATSUMI!!!!!"

Her mother meant business this time. Very rarely is Kat ever called by her full name, and when she is, it means she is in serious trouble.

"How dare you disgrace me in front of the entire family...........If you back down on this engagement........................................ ..................I SHALL DISOWN YOU!!!!!!!!!"

Kat was petrified. All she could do was stare at the door. She was too afraid to look at anyone, for she knew now her whole family were sobered up after listening to the argument, and never before was the pressure on to make a decision.

Kiyoshi watched as Kat and Xanu walked off, before Samael ran off as well. She then sighed, turning to Roki, and Reina shortly after.

“I am so sorry about this you guys. I have a few things that I need to do, and now an obligation as well. If you would like to come you may, I would not mind, although it may be a little rude to invite people. But, the company would be nice. I promise I will explain things later, but I need to go to Kat’s Party, and then go back to my Shrine and get myself cleaned up. If you both need a place to stay for the time being, you are more then welcome.”

At that, Kiyoshi Nakamura had begun to walk away from the two, in the direction that Kat and Xanu had gone. When arriving at the scene—Kat’s house, she had made it there just in time to apparently witness something “epic.”

“How dare you disgrace me in front of the entire family...........If you back down on this engagement........................................ ..................I SHALL DISOWN YOU!!!!!!!!!” She heard Kat’s Mother yell as she stood in the doorway, blinking.

She had noticed that Kat was facing the door, as if she were about to leave before her Mother’s quite serious and pretty straightforward announcement. “K-Chan… Are you all right?” She asked as she saw her friend, frozen in place—walking up to her as she asked the question.

“What in the World happened here?” Kiyoshi then asked, looking around the room, before looking back at her BFF For Life again, with that angered adrenaline coursing through her veins again.

‘Just great… It is that Xanu kid again…’ Kyon thought to himself. ‘Shut up Kyon! Can you not see that K-Chan is distraught?’

Then there was silence as she awaited an answer.

(OOC: for those who want some dramatic music of some sort, Ramirez's theme from skies of arcadia :P)

Xanu sat still, looking at the floor. His body had gone still. In fact, a few of the relatives who were closer to him had backed away slightly.

Xanu had decided he didnt really care if kats mother knew if he was a prince. Infact, he knew he should have told Kat in the first place....

But this woman... this mother......

"If anyone should disown anybody...." he said, his voice almost a whisper, and it began to rise, though he did not once yell, "it should be you, for failing a as a mother."

Several people gasped at this, and Mrs. Oshiro looked ready to explode. But Xanus noble blood was now boiling in a rage he had no ideal he even possessed.

"Did you ever actually care about Kat? If you really cared about what she would want, then you would realize that she wants to run her life. If she gets married, she will want it to be with someone she truly cares about..." He said, his whole body exuding rage and fury, yet not one shout. That perhaps was the scariest part of all.

"You care only about your wants, not your daughters.. you only wish to see her wed, when she may have dreams of her own. You have failed as a mother, and deserve no respect, for you have even added lying to the list." he took a step forward, his rage barely being concealed.

"I know and understand that I may someday have to be wed to someone i may not love, but Kat deserves the chance for true love! She deserves her own live!!" The last two were almost shouts, and he almost spat them at her.

"Will you continue along the path you have taken, or will you choose another one, and for once! For once listen to your daughter, listen to how she feels! The choice lays at your feet. You can turn me in, but I will make sure that one way or another, Kat gets the chance to live her life how She wants it!"

Techincally, the statement about him having to marry was incorrect. Alkiasan royal code dictated that at age 25, should the child in line for the throne not be wed, they could still recieve the crown. His parents were simply trying to not give him the chance to grow to 25 years of age. But he knew at least, that if such a confrontation came about, they would not disown him. In fact...

"The very threat of disowning her to force her to your wishes, makes you the lowest person I have ever met." A corner of his mind wondered if Kat would speak up against her mother, or if everyone would be too stunned by his words.

In fact, he devised another plan. If Mrs. Oshiro did disown Kat, and tunr him in, then he would invite Kat to come back with him, so that she could be away from her mother and she could choose her own destiny. Strangely, he felt his parents would be proud of what he was doing here at this moment. If his father were here, he knew a royal lashing (verbal of course, he had never enjoyed use of force) would have insued the likes of which you could only imagine.

Hana let out a deep breath and released her grip on the wolf. "I guess you're right. It's still a little...I don't know anymore. I'm just not use to two pieces, that's all." She took the moss and looked at it carefully. "Are you sure it's edible?" She gave him a look as she tried some. It wasn't that bad actually. And, considering she hadn't eaten in a while, it tasted even better. She wrapped her arms around her knees and still sat close to wolf she had hidden behind before. "So, how do we get out of here? Any ideas? And, while were on the topic of ideas, how do you feel about me? I mean, you've never come out and said it as bluntly as I did." She smiled, knowing she put him on the spot.

[Dr. Hax]

"I'm serious, Hana. You look great in a two-piece. As for what we should do to get out of here, there is nothing we can do but wait it out. I'm sure someone will find us. Until then, try not to do much. Remain as still as possible that way you don't get hungry as often. I mean, we have a limited supply of moss. There may be bats but I would have to check further into the dark. Stay close to me to remain warm. It's getting colder anyway so that would be best."

Kevin took his shirt and placed it on the ground by the small fire.

"That should provide something to keep the cold from the ground from getting to you. As for how I feel about you, well, due to my lack of experience, I don't exactly know what to say. Instead..."

Kevin stopped and kissed Hana dead on the lips with a serious face. He then said with a hint of red in his cheeks...

"Does that count as an answer?"

Hana's face burned as it turned red. She placed her fingers to her lips, still in some shock that he even kissed her. Still blushing, she nodded, "That counts." She tried to hid her cheeks with her hands. Then, without thinking, she kissed him back and blushed even more. "There. That way, we're even." She smiled.

It was getting colder and the fact that there wasn't anything but the fire to warm her up, she shivered. She wrapped one arm around the wolf beside her, closed her eyes and sighed. "I wish I could get us out. It's just that the pile of rocks is so thick, I don't think I'd make it all the way through before something happened." She remembered the feeling she got after the first time she walked through the rocks to get to Kevin. It had felt like someone had knocked the air right out of her. There was a desperate feeling in her stomach that longed for fresh air and the sun. All she kept thinking about was that she'd probably never see the sky again. She should have taken more time to enjoy things she liked most. Instead, she wasted everything. Of course, how was she to know it would end like this. She let out a soft sigh, thinking deeply about the things she would miss.

"Neh K-chan? What is your decision?" Kat's mother said coldy.


She had taken the biggest breath she had ever taken in her entire life. This wasn't going to be easy, but she had to make a choice. She looked at Kiyoshi who was staring through the front door in shock, and then over at Xanu, tears now streaming down her eyes.

"Gome......Xanu."

She then looked over at her mother.

"Fine........I'll do it!!!!!!"

"EH???" The whole family grunted in unisen. By now they were totally engrossed into the situation.

"I'll do it....for you....Okaa-san!!"

With that, she ran out the door and ran as fast as she could, and for as far as she could until she felt her legs could no longer move, and collapsed on ground. She sat there on the sidewalk and sobbed. Never in her life had she felt so ashamed, and so cornered. But in her eyes, She felt it was the only choice she could make. She didn't want to be disowned by her family, and she was sure that Xanu didn't really want to go home either. It had to be for the best.............it had to.............

Forgive me Xanu.........I'll find a way out of this.........I promise..........

"You're late!" she snapped at him, but then he had expected this.

Maria was the short-tempered type, and for some reason, seemed to particularly dislike his miss behaviors over anyone else. He still remembered getting chewed out for getting a data wrong on one of his papers. It was a bloody typo. Still, she was smart, she had to be, a 23 year old grad student teaching a class in college, even if it was technically tutorial and not a real class, was impressive. She had graduated from New College of Florida and written her thesis on Kierkegaard and now she was a professor's aid here in Kapok.

Samael sighed, and Maria gave him a glance out of the corner of his eye, "Now Either/or is highly tied to the events in Kierkegaard's life. Specifically, to the breaking of his engagement with..."

Samael slipped out of class with a sigh and began to walk... home... but he remembered he didn't have one right now. He couldn't afford to risk settling down somewhere while whoever it was, continued to stalk him. He also didn't know how much long he could go without changing cloths before people started to notice.

Samael stared at the ground in frustration and confusion. For one of the rare times in his life, he didn't know what to do. How could he solve this problem so he could get back to his normal life? He desperately wanted to put all the pieces that had fallen out of his own life and put them back in. But it seemed impossible.

[Dr. Hax]

Kevin felt the temperature drop also and began to lay down on the shirt.

"Hana, judging be the drop in temperature, I'd say nightfall is approaching now. Join me so we can get some sleep. The idea is to maintain warmth through contact with each other. You lie down in front and I will cover you from behind while one of my wolves keeps the front warm and the other guards. The two will switch shifts every hour."

[Josun Tomoro]

Xanu watched as Kat ran out the door, conflicting emotions raging inside of him. Then, one broke through, and as his face to show the emotion, several of the nearest family members edged towards nearby rooms.

Fury.. fury was the emotion showing on his face, and in the suddenly stiff stance he had. Even if you couldnt see such things, there was almost an aura of rage coming off of him in waves.

He turned, and in one swift move had closed the gap between him and Mrs. Oshiro. He was only a few inches away from her as he bellowed

"DO YOU SEE WHAT YOU HAVE DONE!?! DO YOU SEE THE PAIN YOU HAVE CAUSED YOUR WON FLESH AND BLOOD?!! YOU CORNERED HER, AND STRIPPED HER OF HER OWN FREE WILL!?!! I'LL HAVE YOU KNOW THAT EVEN MY PARENTS WOULD NOT STOOP SO LOW!!! YOU HAVE HURT HER, YOU HAVE HURT YOUR OWN DAUGHTER!!" He stormed over towards the door, but before he left, he did three things.

First, he bowed to the rest of the assembled family, then, he gave Mrs. Oshiro a venomous glare as he whispered "I hope you are happy with yourself. If not, you should be." he then stormed out the door, running as fast as he could to catch up to her.

Soon, he bumped into Tama, who had been about to make some sarcastic comment, but the waves of Fury, and now a sad concern, made him only nod as he lead him to Kat.

Xanu began to slow his pace as he came into view, and began to breathe in deeply. He was not angry at Kat at all, only worried and concerned for her.

First though, he had an apology to make.

"Kat-chan..." he said slowly, sitting down on the sidewalk next to her, seeing several tears drop to the ground as he sat there.

"Kat-chan, I'm sorry for hiding my identity, but I didnt want to put you at risk." He also of course hadnt wanted someone freaking out about being in the midst of a real prince, but that didnt matter. "If my parents got desprate enough, or do get despreate enough, they might send someone after me, and they may try to hurt you to bring me back."

After that, he decided there was only a few things he could do. He choose one that felt the most... right. It went with his feelings for her too. He really did care about her.

He slid his arm around her shoulders, and brushed the tears away. "Don't worry Kat-chan. We'll figure something out. I know you dont want to get disowned, and I know you dont want to get married." It didnt really matter what he felt, it was what she felt, and Xanu could tell that kat was wishing the entire situation hadnt occured.

"You need to face your mother Kat... I know its hard to think about.. but you have to. If you want, I'll be there to give moral supprt. But you have your own life to live. Dont let her decide it for you, you choose Kat-chan." he went silent there, doing his best to comfort her as he waited to see what she would say.

Samael sat back down on the park bench from before and began to think. He had no where to go, and couldn't go about finding a place until he was certain he wouldn't be putting anyone at risk. He needed to shake whoever was following him off his back (a nigh-impossible thing to do on a small Island like Kapok) or he had to bring him out into the open. But how? What could he do to condition a meeting? Something so that he could figure out what he was dealing with.

Until such a meeting accord his life was stuck in this horrible pseudo-standstill. Time was still passing and he still had obligations but he could make anything move forward in a meaningful way. Could reset himself back to his usual equilibrium.

He gritted his teeth in anger at the world. Why must it be so illogical? So absurd? Why didn't people behave rationally? He couldn't understand how people with human mind's like his own could act like they did. They couldn't possible be sentient! They didn't exist! For that moment, deep in his subconcious, Samael's thoughts shifted, they bent into a burning denial of the reality of mankind and for that brief moment, everyone near him ceased to exist.

Couples strolling in the park vanished, children disappear from their swings. For that infinitely small period of time, Samael was the only living person in the park. He denied everyone else their right to exist.

But it was only a moment, and a moment only. Samael's mind recoiled from its solipsism. Even before people could notice, those who had disappeared returned, unaware of their brief instant in limbo. Samael's own memory of the event was rewritten by his own denial such that, to him, it never occured.

He just sat their as he had been, thinking of how to return balance to his life.

[LittleMomo]

He was a bit surprised to see Reina in shifted form, but he had a serious look and told her, "These are my friends, except for the one who was comforting Kat, I believe I did not meet him yet." He followed the entire group into the house since he was invited to some party, "Hey Reina, let's go." He grabs her by the hand and takes her along with him. As they head off, he turns to smile at her, "Hey, we should have fun once in a while..but wait...We can ask their family to get you into the bed or something. Let us go and ask." He happily goes into the small house and apparently something is up. Just as he was about to ask one of the family to give Reina a bed for her to rest upon, they were talking about Kat and the guy he does not even know. "Reina, since they are busy, I think it's okay to put you into a bed. I'll tell them it's an emergency or something." As soon as he finished his sentence, Kat ran out side and Roki did know that she was scared about it, the guy came to talk to her. "Umm family members of Kat, this is an emergency here. This girl needs to rest in one of your rooms, will that be okay?" He asks as he bows his head down to show respect. "Kat needs a hand, we are her friends and we can assist her after Reina gets a bed to recover on. This is just quite handful." His shifter said stood there waiting for the family to reply.

[Sister Nightroad]

Tahlia was marching along the sidewalk, searching for a girl she knew nothing about. Actually, Tahlia was pretty much lost. She hadn't been around Kapok Bay long enough to get a hang of all the streets and alleys. The only thing she knew was how to get from her house, to the café, and to work. Everything else was blurry to her. So, as her only way to find someone without details from Arella, Tahlia went and asked random people if they'd heard of a girl named Reina, and if they knew where she was. Without a description however, she had no help. Arella, I need help now! I have no idea who I'm looking for! While you wait for Kairos to respond, could you possibly find someone for me? He's in a very protective cell somewhere downstairs from you. I don't really know more than that but if you could find him that'd be great. Ask him if he knows anything about a girl named Reina, if you would. Tahlia felt Arella agree and had the feeling of someone leaving her head. Tahlia saw a few more people gathered together and went to go ask them about the mysterious girl named Reina.

Arella listened to Tally for a few minutes before wiping her fingers on the sheet of the bed. She was so nervous, she didn't want to talk to more strangers. She did trust her Tally though so she searched through the cells once more. She though she found who she was searching for, and gently tried to talk to his mind. "I-I'm sorry for um...intruding but...I'm looking for someone called um, Reina...Do you know what she might be or um...look like?" Arella didn't think that the person she was talking to was in a cell and had been there for who-knows-how-long. "Ah um...Also, do you know someone called um, Kairos?" Even though she was alone, a blush burned her cheeks.

Kat looked at Xanu, and for some reason, looking into his eyes caused more tears to stream down her face. So she held him as tight as she could and sobbed into his chest.

After about a minute of hard crying, she eventually looked back up into his eyes.

"I can't face my mother, Not yet. there's no reasoning with her."

She then started to blush slightly.

"So...uh....we'll just have to go along with it....f....for now."

Kat thought about what she had just said, and immediately stood up and turned away from Xanu.

"Not that I...um....want to or anything......you know.....I just....thought....uh..."

Crap! What have I gotten myself into?? This is so awkward!! I can't even talk!! Aiyaa!!!! I wonder if I really did the right thing saying yes?!

She started to turn so red that she had to hold her cheeks to keep from showing. She just hoped that he wouldn't notice, especially now that he's not doing anything to her to make her react that way.

gotta calm down.....I gotta calm down!

So she changed the subject.

"Oh, and don't think you're getting off the hook easy, PRINCE Xanu, for not telling me about your secret identity. Let's just say you owe me one, but I haven't thought of it yet."

With that she turned around and stuck her tounge out at Xanu.

"And just because you are royalty that doesn't mean you get to act like it either! That includes waving your 'charm' around whenever you feel like it!"

After Kat and Xanu left, her mother pulled out a cigarette and had a smoke while the party commenced. She looked over at Roki and Reina as a puff of smoke came billowing out of her mouth.

"Our sleeping arrangements are limited as the family is staying here. She'll have to share a room. But any friend of K-chan......is a friend of the family."

She spoke with an evil grin. On the inside, she was very satisfied with what she had done. In that sick and twisted mind of hers, she felt it was the best decision. To her, marriage wasn't about love. It was about security, assets, bearing her future grandchildren, and finances. Love could come later.........

Hana laid down and buried her face in her arm. She wasn't going to cry. Not again. She was going to be strong from that moment on. And it wasn't for anyone else but her. She had to be strong for herself.

She wrapped her arms around herself. There was no way she was going to let the cold get to her. She refused to freeze up. She closed her eyes, determined not to think about what was going on. But, she couldn't. "Kevin, I know I keep asking, but, do you think we'll make it out of here alive?"

Xanu brushed away the new tears, doing his best to comfort her. His mind was awhirl with strange feelings, and he wondered if everything would end up alright.

"Alright Kat-chan, even though I really think you should confront her, I cant and wont make you..."

Her next words left him speechless for a moment, as well as startled. His heart started thumping, and he had to work hard to get enough concentration to rear in his 'charm'.

Xanu looked at Kat, and was once again looking in the pools of hazel that entrapped him. But he had to focus, and did a splendid job of seeming like he hadnt been lost in her gaze.

"A-Are you sure Kat-chan?" But even then, he realized that, despite all his raving at Mrs. Oshiro, he had had no real plan on how to get them out of the situation. Sighing, though with a small smirk, he said "Alright Kat-kun. if this is really what you want for now... I'll follow your lead. After all, your my friend."

When she made the remark about him being a Prince, he laughed and said "Consider going with your mothers wishes the payback. I didnt leave Alkiasa and my family for a temporary visit. Im running away from the ideal of a forced marriage just as much as you are."

Then, looking solemnly into Kats eyes as he held her hand, for now they were both standing, he said

"Kat-kun, I dont want, or expect to be treated like royalty. Just treat me like before, as a friend." He paused to sigh, saying "as for my charm, may I remind you i dont have full control over it?"

He then bent down, and remembering something his brother had told him, kissed Kats hand lightly, before standing back to his full height.

"You know, I wonder if your mother is wanting this because of your being a shifter..." But he shook his head lightly, for something had come to him.

"I think we need to set some, conditions up with your mother on this..."

Loraigo sipped a small cup of sake as he watched the other family members continue the parties festivities. Personally, he was amused by the entire situation. Still, he decided he would enjoy some fun.

He had snuck in when Xanu had stormed out, and no one seemed to mind much that he was there. After a moment or two, he moved up to stand near the young womens mother.

"You know, the King and Queen have been trying for two years to get him engaged. I think you might have succedded." he took another sip as he listened to the light music, then continued

"Since their engaged, I will be extending my contract to protect her as well as the young prince. I trust you have no problems with this?" he hoped she didnt, otherwise hed simply grab them both and take off for Alkiasa.
