".....NO......NO....no no no no no no no no!!!!!!!! YOU!!!!!!! AGAIN!!!!! REALLY!!?!? THIS IS YOUR CAR!!?!?!?! AND ALL YOU HAVE TO SAY IS OOPS!!!?!?!?! HOW THE HELL AM I GOING TO GET HOME?! UGH!!!! GOOD GOD!!! HOW COULD YOU KNOW SEE MY BIKE!!! ARE YOU BLIND!?!?! IT'S BRIGHT PINK FOR GOD SAKES!?!?!"

She so desperately wanted to hit him, but she didn't want to cause any more of a scene that had already occured. She then looked at him and sighed while clenching her fists with groceries in hand.

"You.....are by far....THE MOST reckless person I've ever met. And for some reason....you just keep showing up.......Why?"

It was as if whatever God that ruled the universe was really out to get her today. The one person she wanted to be a hundred miles away from just couldn't seem to go away, because a sick and twisted fate kept bumping her into him. Whatever it was, she refused to take the hint, because deep down she was deathly afraid of him. She was afraid of what he was capable of, what he could find out, what he might already know. The worst part was
that she knew nothing about him, but at the same time she had no intention of finding out either. After a moment of standing there, Kat turned on her heels and started to walk home.

"The hell with it...." She said. "Looks like I'm working overtime now...."

Galen was scared. He was truly scared of the girl who was a car away from him. All he had was his car, in the way, in between him, to protect him. He had rarely ever been that frightened in all of his life, and here he was, afraid of a measly little girl, a little girl with an anger problem, and more of a problem with making accusations. What was he to do?

She just seemed to get angrier and angrier as the minutes ticked by, clenching her groceries in her hands. “You…..are by far….THE MOST reckless person I’ve ever met. And for some reason….you just keep showing up…….Why?”

Galen had no idea what to say. Was it that he was too afraid to say anything? Or was he feeling too bad to say anything? It was of course, an accident. Literally. But how could he make it up to her? Why did he even care? She obviously hated him, and they seemed to only fight at that point.

“I am the most reckless person you’ve ever met?!!??!?!?!? I highly doubt that considering you know yourself!!!!!!!” Galen shot back. He was frustrated and quite angry with Kat. Who was she to say something like that? “You are the one committing logical fallacies, not me!” There is really no point to this… He thought.

Kat stood there, not saying anything at all to Galen, before turning on her heels and walking off, and away from him. “The hell with it…. Looks like I’m working overtime now….” At that Galen reacted almost instantly. He ran by the side of his car, jumped over the hood, and headed towards Kat, stopping right in front of her, his arms spread wide.

“Stop! You are not walking home. I will take you home. It is the least that I can do.” He offered, not sure what else to do. If she didn’t except though, just out of spite, he would force her to go with him, just so he knew she didn’t have to walk all the way back to her house, groceries and all in hand. In all honesty, no matter how badly it sounded, he did care about her well-being, but the diet soda in his trunk was probably getting warm by now.

Kat tried her best to ignore him, and it was working until he had stopped her.

“Stop! You are not walking home. I will take you home. It is the least that I can do.”

She was kind of taken back by the offer, when not even a minute ago he accused her of committing "Logical Fallicies". She stood there a moment with a loss of words, and feeling slightly hesitant. But she eventually lowered her head and nodded in acceptance.

She hopped in the car and kept her head lowered with her hair covering her face. She didn't want to look at Galen in fear that she would say or do something hateful. She hated that she was sitting in the fancy sports car that destroyed her cheap yet efficient bike. It was all she had. And now she had to find a way to buy a new one. The new car smell filled her with jealousy, and didn't help the situation at all.


This guy must be really well off , She thought to herself, and with painful determination kept herself silent.

Eventually Kat lowered her head and nodded at Galen. At his offer he assumed, so he escorted her back to his car. Once there, and the doors were unlocked, Kat had gotten in and Galen closed the door for her before walking around to his side and doing the same for himself. He looked over at Kat once before placing the key in the ignition and turning it to start the car.

The light hum of the car set him at ease. It was one of the only things, if any at all that he liked about his car. He kept up the maintenance on it, and he did a pretty damn good job at it too. After there were no more cars passing, and making sure that he and Kat were both buckled in properly, Galen pulled away from the curb and started driving off into the direction of Kat’s house.

The car drove smoothly, and it took Galen everything that he had to not just relax and enjoy it all. He was thinking too much to do that. After a while, the silence started getting to him, and he felt as if he needed to say something. “Kat, look…” He began, glancing at her quickly before turning his full attention back towards the road ahead, not wanting to get into another “accident.”

He thought the rest over for a few minutes, and knew that she was probably getting impatient with him. He swallowed, trying to figure out what he should do. He was never good at apologies, and he most definitely didn’t want to apologize even. But it was the polite thing to do, so he forced himself to do just that. “Kat I…” Just spit it out already! He thought to himself.

“Kat, I’m really sorry. Okay?” He glanced over at her again this time before turning his attention back towards the road, just like before. He shifted his hands on the steering wheel a bit, being more frustrated with himself then anything. He closed his eyes quickly, as in to calm his mind, but to no avail. Upon opening his eyes, he looked forward as he continued.

Galen sighed. “Look, I know it's a pretty pathetic excuse, and knowing my luck that bike of yours probably had some sentimental value to it and can never be replaced, and I feel terrible about that." He tightened his grip on the steering wheel once before loosening it again as he thought before speaking. “The pathetic excuse is, I was so frustrated with my roommates for drinking all of my diet soda, I didn’t see your bike, and that is probably how it happened. I'm sorry, okay? I didn’t mean for it to happen.”

He looked over at her again before sighing. He slammed one of his hands down on the steering wheel then, but lightly, still frustrated with himself. “Never mind. I have no idea what I am even saying at this point. This is pointless.” He closed his eyes and sighed yet again, before opening them and looking forward again, watching the road. “I’ll buy you a new bike. I haven’t a clue as into what else to do.”

Galen felt bad, and nothing seemed to be coming out of his mouth the way that he wanted it to. I'm so sorry… Why can’t I just say that out loud, and sound like I mean it?

Valkyrie while sitting and sleeping under the tree started to dream.

She saw a man infront of her, kneeling. He was crying, saying he was sorry for leaving her. It was him, the guy from his past. He spoke to her "You should have not let him go if you felt something strong for him." she was stunned with what she heard.

"Are you talking about WOlx?" she asked 'him'.

Then he disappeared. She was awaken by something, she was missing Wolx.

She stood up. She was making a decision in her head. Should i follow him? what if he doesn't wanna see me anymore? what if he remembers now? what should i do?

She was starting to cry again. She decided to shift into her other persona and decided to run fast accros the forest avoing the path that WOlx might have taken. "I'll come back to where i came from in an hour" she said out loud.

She was running very fast, just circling around with no exact place to go. She can see the trees, big and small, every angle, every spot it has. Her eyes were never at rest, she was hoping to see Wolx. Then she suddenly stopped, she was tired, she decided to go to the river she was a few hours ago and decided to take a bath.

She took off her clothes and swam her heart out. She was being restless. She decided to sit at one rock at the center of the river. Her lower body was under the water and her upper body was covered by her long bluish balck hair.

She doesn't give a damn if any one was paying attention to her, she was out of her mind, she was just acting on impluse.

Xan frowned as kat left, but decided to do a quick survey of thier cabinets. He shook hsi head as he saw several jars of various sauces, as well as several boxes of rice and noodles. He gave it some thought, then turned and went back to the living room.

"Hey Yama, can you help me figure out what to make..." He looked around, not seeing her, when she said, from back in the kitchen "Already ahead of you Xanu."

Xanu sighed again, but smiled as he said "You arent normal.." As he went to help, the expected reply came

"Why on Earth would I want to be a normal grandma? Its more fun this way."

“This is Roki, and Roki, this is Kyon.”

She turned towards, and gestured to Nina then.

“Nina, this is Kyon, Kyon, Nina.”

After introducing them, Kiyoshi smiled awkwardly to herself.

Nina's eyes went sparkle when she knew it was him. She never doubted for a a second. I mean, the person following Kiyoshi was obviously Kyon she thought. She runs up and embraces him, "KYON!!!!" Of all things that can make her happy, this was probably one of the best days in her life. She looks up to him and says, "You know I was a bit mad at you for not showing up, but you're here now and that's all that matters!" She sighs happily, "Ahh~ You simply make my day a lot better Kyon, more than anyone else and don't chu forget it."

"So that's Kyon eh?" Roki responded as he thinks about it, "I guess we'll be the ones who see him for the first time."

"Here was your prize...." He sadly gave the flower necklace to Kiyoshi and sat down by the bench. He then says, "Kiyoshi can I tell you something? It's really important...."

[Darling Ava]

Ava sighed, flexing her strong dog muscles, testing them out again. It wasn’t too long ago that she had mysteriously lost her powers, and this had shaken her confidence. Bounding about her house for what seemed like hours had restored a little bit of faith in this gift, but now she was tired, and all she wanted was to rest in the blanket that was her dog form, but Houdini had other plans. The little creature hopped about her form, tugging her dog ears and nibbling at her collar [which held her own house and phone number] noisily.

“Come on Ava, come on. We barely got to see the city, and we’ve only arrived last night!” the tiny but heavy voice projected.

“ ’Dini, maybe you don’t understand but the city got to see me. I’m embarrassed,” she muttered slowly letting her dog form slip away like a blanket. The jerboa himself was still there, a gift that took her a long time to master. Having one without the other was not easy.

“I am sorry that you forgot clothes. That was dumb of you, but why don’t you get dressed, and we’ll walk. Plus, you’re going to have to go out of the house eventually when you start at Kapok U, might as well try to make friends early.”

Ava sighed again heavily, dragging her naked body from the floor. “Fine,” she muttered to the thing, swinging her foot at him half-heartedly. Clearly she missed, for he was squeaking indignantly at her.

So she showered quickly and dried her hair, letting her bright red curls fall down her shoulders without really trying to style them. Styling hair was a skill she lacked, styling clothes on the other hand was something she prided herself of. Eventually she decided on short but fair-fitting brown skirt and a forest green fiting t shirt with a white tank underneath. Earth colors were her favorite.

After she felt ready she paced about the house, her white flip flops slapping against the floors.

“You’re stalling,” the creature said, now perched on the dresser. Ava huffed and grabbed the thing, tossing it up on her shoulders lightly, letting it settle beneath her hair as she walked out the door into the bright sunlight.

She crossed the street and began walking in the direction of the beach again, though this time she was clothed. Secretly she prayed that no one would recognize her with her clothes on. It wasn’t long before she began to get nearer to the beach, and voices drifted through the air. Obscenities? Why was someone yelling so foully? She looked about, only to see the man from the beach. She gasped, pointing him out to Houdini, but as she looked, the mouse was no longer there. A small growl of frustration escaped her lips, and she cursed under her breath.

The moment at hand was a little different now, the boy appeared to be…drunk? No, he wasn’t that type of person, even though he was as cynical as a drunk. Carefully, in case he was rabid or something, she walked up to him, slightly concerned.

“Um, rude boy from the beach,” this was all she knew to call him. “You’re looking quite green-literally. Do you need some assistance? To a hospital? Or your home?”

Samael groaned feeling rather sickly but he tried to pull himself together and walk more stably. He couldn't look this bloody weak, it was embarrassing. He was better than this and he knew it. But there was only so much that pride could compensate for.

Suddenly, a voice cut in, a voice that he barely recognized, he turned around to it, wondering whether it was who he was beginning to think it was. It was a female voice... clearly. And the fact it noted him as " the rude boy from the beach" meant that there was a strong chance it was someone from that incident earlier.

And indeed it was. It was that strange red-headed nudist girl. If she had told him her name he didn't recall it. However, he doubted that was the case as she had been... less then pleased with his mannerisms and any introduction he might have heard would have been only in so far as she introduced herself to that one blonde-haired girl (whose name he had also forgotten, though in this case he knew he had been told) and that boy with the speech impediment.

But what was she doing here? Or rather, What did she want? She said something about him looking sick and needing a hosipital but... did he really look that weak? This was nothing he couldn't handle, especially since this was something he HAD to handle. Tomorrow he had still had morning classes and he would have to attend them, deathly ill or no.

"Oh...its you." he said straightening himself up to put forward his best, "I'm-perfectly-fnie" look. He bit his tongue a bit, she had offered her help but he could not accept it. Not just because of his pride. But because, he didn't want to be pitied, he didn't want her to find out that he had also gotten shot and beat up twice in the pass couple weeks, which might happen if they went to the hospital. If they went to his "house" she would find out he was homeless. And if she found out, if she was a moral person at all, then she would try to help him more. And then there was a chance that she could get involved in the mess he was currently in. It would be immoral to force his fate upon another person. Though... he had to consider the possibility that she herself was a tool of the person who was manipulating Samael's reality. "No...I'll be fine. I'll just get some medicine from a pharmacy and sleep for the day, so don't waste your bloody time."

Then suddenly, he remembered something. He could get that Anton person off his back! "Wait, you think you're a shifter right?" he said this in a perfectly normal speaking voice, oblivious to any possible stigma it might have

Ava watched the boy for a moment, who seemed completely oblivious to her existence for a time being, and she tried to hold back a chuckle. It looked as though he were having an inner monologue, but eventually he turned to straighten himself up, though in his condition it reminded her more of a child puffing out his chest to look tough. She ran her hand through her hair, re-appraising the sick boy. Nope, he still looked just as sick, but now with some form of back problem. Tapping her foot, she crossed her arms and waited for some form of response. When it came she was less then pleased.

“You’re sick you bloody idiot. Mr. tough guy.” She released the air trapped in her lungs with a hiss, frustrated with the man’s inability to admit he was weak. His whole demeanor was in poor condition.

“Clearly you are in less-than-perfect shape and I am insulting you, I apologize. It is not my place to be concerned about you.” It was all she could say to hold back her temper. It was fiery and rather ruthless at times. Though she knew that if anyone could handle it would be him, the twinge of pity said at the very least she should spare him from a mental spar.

She turned to leave him, wanting to forget the frustrating character, but it was beyond her capability to leave a sick person, no matter how ridiculously stubborn they were. “Look, I’ve taken care of the sick in Africa, China, Egypt, Western Europe, Turkey… they all look the same, and we both know you are lying.” It was a true statement, she had cared for the sick while her parents worked in the various countries, though while she did so she also searched for answers in others blood, though she never found any. She was in the middle of tapping her foot again, hoping he would concede, for she wouldn’t, whether he wanted her help or not.

It was then he posed the question that made her eyes go wide. She rubbed the back of her head nervously, her foot pausing mid-tap. “Well, I guess if that’s what you want to call it. But, it’s been…faulty ever since I got to Kapok, like it just dies out. It’s quite odd, actually,” she had a feeling that it was gone now, as Houdini had disappeared again.

To test her theory she flexed her fingers, willing them into paws. Nothing. “F---“ she grumbled beneath her breath. “Why?” she asked, her temper flaring again, though she was mad at herself now.

"I can take care of myself... I've been doing it since before you could do your multiplication tables!" he said calmly. He immediately regretted the statement since its veracity was debate able. If she was 18 now and had learn her tables at the age of 8, the claim may or may not be true. If however she was older than 18 or if she had learned her tables at a younger age then his claim was false. However, if she had learned her tables later or if she was younger than 18 than his claim was true. In any case...

"I'm sure you have plenty of experience with the sick, but I have plenty of experience with being sick and I'm confident with some medicine and a little sleep I will be fine." He might have accepted if only he didn't have those stalkers looming over his shoulder, watching his every move. Everything was off limits until he had dealt with them, and he had to deal with them but he just couldn't figure out how!

"But on to things that matter, since my health certainly does not. Regardless of your impotence, you still believe yourself to be a shifter. And that makes you deluded. But that also means my professor, for whatever reason, wants to talk to people like you. My personal bias aside... " Samael pulled out one of the papers Anton had given him from his messenger bag, "here. Don't let my disdain sway you from coming, he's far more...accepting of this shifter nonsense than I am."

He reached out to hand Ava the paper but suddenly a wave of dizziness spread over him and he felt forward bumping into her.

Ava shook her head, still tapping her foot. Stubborn boy, what an idiot. She doubted the truth of his statement, having learned all her basics at a young age, and being only eighteen, it was unlikely. Unless, of course, he was much older than he looked. But no matter, he was prattling on about nothing to distract her from the actual issue. Not a big deal, she wasn’t easily distracted when she wasn’t in dog form.

“Look, kid who is dying, clearly your health is the issue here. Though I would just like to add that I am not deluded, thank you. I don’t care what you think It’s not like I haven’t taped it, so I have proof. Wait, your professor? Do you go to Kapok U?” she was confused as to why the professor would want to talk to her, but at the same time, if he was looking for shifters, he was probably right up her alley and could probably answer some of her questions. “Is he in the Cellular Biology and Genetics department?” she asked, suddenly very curious.

She stopped tapping her foot and pulled her arms from her chest to reach for the paper. But she never got it. It fell from both their hands as the boy faltered, swaying into her. She braced herself, holding the boy up by his shoulders for a moment so he could regain his senses after almost fainting.

“That’s it! THAT’S IT! I told you, you are too sick. Now I have proof that you are a stubborn idiot! Idiot, idiot!” she emphasized the word, hoping he would drill it in his brain. “No more excuses, Fainty McFainterson. Let’s go.” She grabbed him by his ear, though he was a little taller, and also braced his arm, to help if he was still unstable. “No more excuses, leeeets go.” She pulled him, and guided him, her mind set on her house, only a few blocks away.

"Gah!" Samael gasped in pain and annoyance as the girl grabbed him by the ear and began dragging him away, he hadn't fully recovered so being dragged along caused him to stumble a bit but he managed to somehow keep pace with the girl. He sneered in frustration as he pulled his ear from her grip though she still had his arm, "Bah! Fool girl!" he snarled under his breath but couldn't muster the wherewithal to put up more than a token resistance to her.

So, for now, he merely resigned himself into going where she led and said little more. He didn't feel like continuing their conversation while he was being dragged about against his will.

Ava smirked at his annoyance, chuckling under her breath. She was about as afraid of him as she was a kitten. The fur that she did not wear bristled at the thought of a kitten, and she could feel it inside. Though she liked cats enough as a human, their relationships didn’t last long once she was a dog.

She released his ear without a fight, letting it go gently, she didn’t want to hurt the fool anymore than he already was. Her grip on his arm was firm, though this was for them mutually. If he fainted again, she was ready.

It didn’t take long for her house to emerge, a quaint two story with three bedrooms, or rather two bedrooms and a study. It was painted a clean white with dark purple trim, with a purple spotted fence. Her own personal house, thanks to her parents. After all, they were too busy to relocate to Kapok, just because their child had decided that was where she wanted to go to school.
After they crossed the street she opened the fence and pushed him inside, then led him in through the large purple door. “Sit,” she commanded, gesturing to the big and quite comfortable couch. “Tea and…” she looked him over, checking his eyes for jaundice, his gums for bleeding, all at a distance of course, nothing seemed to hint at serious damage, he just looked a wreck. “…Ibuprofen then, for the headache you probably have. It will help with the dizziness too.” It was as though she was a different person, bustling about the house and getting the tea ready, she was at her best when she had someone who needed help. She brought him a glass of water and a few pills and set them on the table in front of him. “Please, don’t be stubborn. I am not afraid to call a doctor if I have to.” She glared at him, daring to object.

Samael remained calm as he was forced into the house. The house seemed well kept enough, though there was a empty feeling about it. Something that conflicted with its well-kept exterior. And the fact it was two stories. But he remained silent on that, though he had suspicions as to the reason.

She gestured toward the couch, so he sat down, unwilling to completely commit to lying down at the present juncture though he had a feeling he would be before too much time had passed. She was talking about something involving tea, reminding of when he had gone to Kiyoshi's house. He wasn't much of a tea drinker. Normally if he had money to splurge on flavored beverages he opted for diet soda or something of the kind.

She seemed to have gotten more mature all of a sudden, different from the whining child who had spurned his aid because he had not burnished his words with her. This was somewhat refreashing and he hoped it lasted, if it did she might even display a redeeming characteristic. Though she would be hard pressed to show something that redeemed to foolishness of believing in shifters.

Ava came back with water and some pills. Samael glanced at her briefly, before taking them, "...thank you..." he said after he had swallowed the medicine, "Of course of course..." he said with dry sarcasm, "I shan't fight you for fear of doctors who shall surely break my power erudite spine."

"All I want you to do is answer me this...."

Kat clenched her grocery bags tightly and slowly looked up at him.

" For some reason.......I can't stop thinking about what happened yesterday at the festival. You........You practically read my mind."

She clenched her bags even tighter to the point where her fingernails were poking into her skin and making her wrists tremble.

"Just what are you?!?! Are......Are you a shifter?!?!"

She gasped before covering her mouth, realizing asking such a question was kind of idiotic. Are you a shifter? C'mon, what kind of question is that?? Can you be any more dense?

She quickly lowered her head in shame before opening her big fat mouth again.

"I'm sorry.....That was a stupid question........But."

She loosened the grip of her grocery bags until they gently rested on the car's floor.

"I can't think of any other explanation as dumb as that may sound."

Suddenly, Nina ran over to Kyon and embraced him.

“KYON!!!!” Kyon was startled at first.

He had only come across Nina only once before, and when he did, he thought that she was a guy, like him. It was the night where he was telling Roki to back off, and to leave Kiyoshi alone. It was the night where she had appeared in Roki’s place, to protect him from Kyon.

Kyon chuckled a little bit at that.

‘Yes, like anybody needs protection from me.’ It took all that he had not to laugh fully at that.

“You know I was a bit mad at you for not showing up, but you're here now and that's all that matters!” Nina sighed.

“Ahh… You simply make my day a lot better Kyon, more than anyone else and don't chu forget it.” Kyon slightly pushed Nina off of him then.

He tried to be rude, but he placed his hands on her shoulders and looked down into her eyes.

“So that's Kyon eh?” Roki asked Kiyoshi, and she turned her attention towards him again instead of to Roki and Nina, that is until…

“Look Nina… This has nothing to do with you in general, so I hope that you understand. But, you see… I have this pheromone ability. It makes you naturally attracted to me. I have not used it in a while, but sometimes it sets itself off without me even knowing it. So I have to try to keep it under control most of the time. That is probably why you react the way that you do to me. Think about it Nina… We hardly even know each other.”

After a few minutes of thinking that he may have been too harsh, and Kiyoshi’s mouth was hanging open slightly, Kyon decided to says something else.

“We can be friends though. Getting to know each other would be the best option. Don’t you think?”

“I guess we'll be the ones who see him for the first time.” Roki responded, and Kiyoshi turned her attention back to Roki after that.

“Here was your prize....” Handing Kiyoshi a flower necklace, she took it politely, while smiling.

“Thank you Roki.” She said in response.

Roi sat down on a nearby bench after that.

‘What is up with the people in Kapok Bay and benches?’ Even Kiyoshi chose to sit n a particular bench in the park while reading, or thinking.

“Kiyoshi can I tell you something? It's really important....”

‘Uh oh…’ Kiyoshi thought.

She had heard that line before. She looked at the ground, pondering the situation again, before looking back up at Roki. She swallowed, and then took a seat next to him.

Looking over at him she attempted a smile then, but it was off, and she knew it was.

‘What am I going to do?” She thought to herself.

‘It could be something different this time Kiyoshi.’ Kyon responded, causing Kiyoshi to look up at him quickly, to see that he was looking back.

‘You have a lot of explaining to do.’ She thought in turn.

‘I know I do, but you have something to discuss currently.’

Turning to Roki again, Kiyoshi met his eyes with hers.

“Yes, what would you like to talk about?”

‘Important…’ She thought. ‘That can only mean one thing today.’

“All I want you to do is answer me this....” Galen tightened his grip on the steering wheel a bit as he waited for Kat to continue. Usually when people only wanted one simple little thin, it tended to lag on, and it ended up being more then it should be. He would just rather have bought Kat a new bike. But he waited patiently for her to continue. “For some reason.......I can't stop thinking about what happened yesterday at the festival. You........You practically read my mind.”

Yeah, he was right. He would just rather buy her a new bike. He gulped. “I think I did read your mind.” He answered, instantly denying what he spoke outloud, in his head. What the hell am I doing? I didn’t read her mind. That is absolutely insane! It was just mere coincidence, and if not that, I am still dreaming. Yeah, this is just a very long dream… Smiling at that thought, his thoughts were cut short but Kat continuing on the subject some more.

Galen instantly regretted opening his mouth. “Just what are you?!?! Are......Are you a shifter?!?!” Galen slowed his speed some and looked over at Kat after she said that. He slowed even more and pulled over, and out of the way of traffic so that way something bad was less likely to occur. He looked at her for a few moments, and she gasped, covering her mouth with her hands, lowering her head and looking away from him then.

“I'm sorry.....That was a stupid question........But.” Galen clenched his teeth a bit. How was he going to answer that question? A shifter? How many times did that have to be brought up? Did people actually believe in that sort of thing? “Can you please stop gripping your groceries so tightly? Your hands may start to bleed after a while, and there is not reason to be that tense.” Galen said as he leaned back in his seat and rested his head against the headrest, never removing his hands from the steering wheel as he did this.

Galen glanced at Kat through the corners of his eyes then, and surely she relaxed a little, and loosened her grip, causing the grocery bas to rest lightly against the carpeted car floor. He looked forward then and closed his eyes again to think. Every time he tried to clear his thoughts though, the same thing would only return. Why was this torturing him so? What did he do to deserve this? Why does this sort of thing seem to be following me wherever I go? He thought. I was sure I had escaped it by moving here. He sighed before opening his eyes.

“I can't think of any other explanation as dumb as that may sound.” Galen looked back at Kat again. He was going to at least try to answer as honestly as he could, as honest as a person could be in a faded reality. “No, I am not a shifter. That is, if a shifter is what Reina explained to me, and what I saw I am not what you would call a shifter.” He never looked away from her once. He wanted to see her reaction. happen yesterday, then no.

Good goin Kat. Great way to make a total fool out of yourself. I mean, was it really that important to bring it up?

She looked back over at Galen. "Then what gives? How could you have possibly have done that? You're just a stranger on the street!!!! We've never met yet you knew exactly what was wrong!!! How can that be?!?!"

Should I really be dwelling on this so much? God why can't I just drop the subject already?

Kat quickly stopped talking before she could get herself into anymore trouble. It was bad enough that she was yelling, and there was really no reason to scream the poor guy's ears off.

Just hang in there, pretty soon you'll be home and this may be the last time you'll ever see this guy. No more awkward moments, no more mind reading, no more destroyed bikes. You can move on with your life. Just shut the hell up and enjoy the damn car ride!!

She sat back in her seat and played with the sleeves of her sweater to keep herself calm and control the anxiety. Maybe if she focused on that, she'll be less likely to yell at Galen and make things more awkward for the both of them.

Kat looked over at Galen. “Then what gives? How could you have possibly have done that? You're just a stranger on the street!!!! We've never met yet you knew exactly what was wrong!!! How can that be?!?!” Galen continued to look at Kat a few moments more, before looking away. “It was just a very good guess.” He stated simply, before turning the key and starting the ignition again. He pushed down the parking break, and but the car in reverse.

After backing up, he put the car in drive and proceeded along the road to their destination. Kat sat back in her seat, and started fiddling with her sweaters sleeves. After a while of silence, it was getting the best of Galen. What is she thinking about…? His curiosity getting the best of him, Galen decided to say something. He knew he would most likely regret it later, and it was something that he most definitely didn’t want to talk about, but he considered it a test. This would test his claim. This would get a reaction. This would prove something to him.

Galen quickly flicked his eyes to Kat before looking back at the road ahead. “It probably has to do something with my family line.” He said simply, yet hesitant. He chuckled mentally to himself. What am I doing? He thought. But there was no turning back now.

Ava looked into the living room quickly, her hair now tied up meticulously. She held a teapot in her hand. “Hmm?” in her bustling she had missed his doctor comment, though just by the fact that the stubborn child had taken the pills meant that he did not want to see a doctor. Good, she thought, the idiot was being just a little bit smarter.

She looked through the fridge, having the urge to make dinner. Her cooking skills weren’t perfect, but there was never much complaint either. Would the idiot eat dinner? She looked again. No, he would be asleep as soon as he took the stick from his *** and relaxed. Oh well.

It was only another minute before she returned with a tray that carried two hot cups of water, a variety of tea bags, juice, soda, water, and a small carton of milk. She shrugged before he could say anything, setting it down on the table in front of him as she made herself comfortable on the floor. She pulled her bag over, spilling its contents on the floor. Besides the regular English book, she carried her Arabic and Spanish book as well as an array of Genetics books. She was one to be prepared before starting school. “I am just sitting here to make sure you don’t puke on my couch, idiot. Feel free to rest.”

Good guess my ***!?!?! That's the biggest sack of crap I've ever heard! You don't guess those kinds of things!!! Now he's just insulting my intelligence!!.

After awhile, the quiet hum of the car had calmed her down, and she was in a relative state of piece. That is, until Galen decided to break the silence and open his big fat mouth.

“It probably has to do something with my family line.”

Are you kidding me?!?! Does his family line consist of sports car driving psychics?! ugh!!!

Rather than react, Kat kept silent. Her eye had twitched slightly out of frustration, but that was all she was giving him. She knew if she were to open her mouth she start throwing out insults. It's best to keep piece when you're in a stranger's car, especially when you aren't the one in control.

Geez buddy can you drive any slower?!? Usually people with sports cars are supposed to drive like grandma !!!! Gah!!! God I can't wait to get home. All of this is making me hungry....

"It's alright, Hana. I enjoy your company and I will always care about you, no matter what."

After Kevin finished his food and drink, he laid back on the grass and closed his eyes. This was his most enjoyable feeling. This was a real milestone for him so he wished to make it really last. He reached up and pulled Hana over to lay down next to him. He gently turned onto his side and put his arms around her while saying, "I love you, dear." and snuggling and the same time.

Kat was quiet, and that did not seem to help much. Besides a slight eye twitch that Galen had noticed, he wasn’t getting much at all. Insane. Just as Galen had thought. He himself thought the answers sounded a bit over the edge, but hey, that is why he said them in the first place. Wasn’t it? To get some sort of reaction?

To bad Kat wasn’t one willing in giving a reaction. Although, it was plain to see what she thought by her facial expressions and body language, the conversation still wasn’t going anywhere. So Galen decided to try a different approach.

“Fine…” He began, not looking at her at all this time. “It is apparent that my answers sound a little crazy. Obviously. That is what I expected. That is the reason that I answered the way I did. I think that it sounds insane myself. But I still had to try it out.” He thought it over for a few minutes as he pushed on the gas pedal again, accelerating his speed to be about sixty-five, which was going overboard in the first place since they were in a residential area and the speed was illegal.

“Okay, I am not quite sure exactly how much you know about Einstein’s Theory of Relativity…” Galen began. “And this is probably going to be a horrible example, but just try to listen and try to apprehend what I am going to say.” Galen continued, but before going on from there, he first opened up and took a sip from his water bottle that he had sitting in one of the cup holders beside him.

After closing the lid and putting the water bottle back in between him and Kat, he continued. “But with the whole shifters thing… If it’s what Reina had explained to me, it could in some way, be compared to Einstein’s Theory of Relativity, or in this case, Special Relativity and, or, General Relativity. Instead of theorizing it with the structure of spacetime, compare it to that of human beings. Who think that they’re shifters of course, who in fact, believe in that type of thing.”

“Now in terms of Special Relativity, the resultant consequences would fit into the shifter equation almost exactly: Length contraction, Relativity of simultaneity, Time Dilation, and finally, Mass energy equivalence. But, it all depends on the observer.” Galen tried to think of examples so he didn’t sound like he was rambling on about unnecessary stuff. But what could he use?

“Take Mass energy equivalence for example. The basic E equals MC squared. Energy equals Mass times the speed of light squared. Basically, it is saying that energy and mass are equivalent and transmutable, just like what would appear in a shifter. The only difference would be the speed of light. In the equation, replace that with a chemical compound that would most likely be found in the brain of a human being that they were either born with naturally, or genetically. If we can find out what cell, or what chemical compound(s) created this merge of energy into something more then just physical energy and physical matter, then we might be able to compensate for and understand how these “shifts” take place and how these “abilities” per say occur.”

Galen took a break then, and took another sip of water. His throat was getting dry, and he needed it. It had every right to. “Anyway, as you can hear, I have been thinking about this a lot. I have had more then one occurrence with this sort of thing, and thinking myself mad, I tried to get away from it all. Even though things have happened right in front of me, for some reason I cannot force myself to believe it, and there might not even ever be a way to prove my theory on it either.”

He glanced over at Kat then. “I’m not what you would call a “shifter”, and neither was a single soul in my family. I am not even sure if I believe in shifters. This could all just be some strange dream that I continuously have for all I know. Strange things had seemed to happen to us, my family and I, all the time, and are continuing to happen to me. Things that cannot be explained for the most part, and things that nobody would believe, I don’t even believe it.” Galen sighed then.

“There is no point in this. You probably don’t even know what I am talking about.” Galen was quiet then as Kat’s house came into site. He slowed, and began to gently pull over, stopping in front of her house and pulling the parking break back up. He then pulled the keys from the ignition and gripped them semi-tightly in one of his hands. The silence was nice. He could have easily flowed with it perfectly in that moment, but he couldn’t do it. He couldn’t leave the conversation on such an odd note.

He looked over at Kat then, with complete seriousness in his eyes. He laughed a little at first. “You know…” He began. “In regards to the insanity of it all, my whole entire family, most of them that is, including my parents, they believed…” He stopped before continuing, looking up at ceiling of the car before looking back at Kat. “They believed that they had abilities. But when they went to prove it, they couldn’t. My great grandfather even claimed, before he passed away that…” Galen looked down then. He didn’t like talking about his family. Especially since he was all that was left.

“He claimed that he never had abilities, although he noticed something was off when he was a child. He never believed in them either, that is until he was a young adult. He was spending time with his sister for the first time in ages, apparently, and something happened. She claimed to be able to do strange things as well, but he never believed her. She said that she could make fire appear out of nowhere, and that the weather would change in accordance to her moods.”

Galen laughed again. “Highly unlikely, I know.” He paused then and relaxed a bit, leaning back in his seat and looking back up at the ceiling, thinking, pondering. He began again in something a little louder then what would be described as a whisper. “But then something happened to him when he was around her. Even after they said their goodbyes. He cried that night when she had left… It rained… The power went out, and he couldn’t find a match anywhere, yet upon picking up the candle, it lit itself…”

After he realized that he was thinking out loud, he stiffened a little, and looked over at Kat. “I’m sorry. I should have never of said anything. That sounds crazy.” He then proceeded to unbuckle his seat and scramble towards the door, unlocking his and Kat’s in the process. “We’re here. I better get you inside before anybody starts to worry about you.” After getting out of the car, keys in hand, Galen closed his door and went around to Kat’s side, opening her door for her.

“I’m sorry about your bike.” He said. “I really wish you would let me do something to help.”

Kat was surprised that Galen had opened up to her like that. But she just couldn't understand how there were people out there that didn't believe in shifters. After all, people were protesting their existence. Regardless, she cracked a small smile as he stepped out of the car. He opened the door for her, and they proceeded to walk to the front door together.

However, as always, Kat's clumsiness and lack of grace got the best of her. Walking along the sidewalk, she didn't notice that one of Tama's toys was lying there, and by stepping on it she lost her footing and started to fall. Out of reflex, she grabbed Galen by the shirt in order to maintain balance, but that didn't work out very well.

"AAAAAAAAAAHHHHH!!!!!!!"

*Plop!!!*
*Poof!!!!!*

The two of them came crashing to the ground, and out of the shock of he fall, Kat shifted into her cat form.

"I...tai..." She said while rubbing her side. However, when she opened her eyes, she discovered herself staring right into Galen's. He had fallen on top of her. After fully taking in the situation at hand, She blushed and took a big gulp.

Oh no!!! This isn't good!!! Not good at alll!!! Kat you baka!!!! Damn you and your clumsiness!!!!

Kat's mother was in the Kitchen straightening up when she heard Kat scream.

"Neh!! Xanu!! I think Kat might need help with the groceries you should probably go help her in!"

She never took Kat's screams as anything very serious. She was very aware of her clumsy nature and she tended to do this thing on a regular basis.
