What is the most stupid question someone has asked you?

A few questions that people have asked me was.. And prepare for the stupidness to flow over .-.

- Is their chocolate in chocolate ._.

- Do I have a chin in real life o.o

- Is Naruto the main star of Naruto -.- Cause i thought it was Sasuke.

"Are you an Otaku"? My sister asked me this. I feel her fail for not realizing some stuff.=/

"Why are you doing that?"

That question can really annoy me, and the reason is obvious. There is a reason for everything..unless ofcourse you are not in your right state of mind. Usually it appears obvious that which you are doing, yet they feel the need to ask anyway just to be aggravating. They may not be trying to aggravate you but their stupid and pointless questions do anyway.

While wearing an Aerosmith t-shirt, clearly visible... "Do you like Aerosmith?"

And it happens with every t-shirt with something printed on it. Aerosmith, AC-DC, FWA, ROH, etc anything.. sometimes I feel lke going out topless so I am not asked such a question.

Above question was asked when i was sharpening my pencil and singing with the radio in art..

At a Bruce Springsteen Concert, surrounded by thousands of people shouting out 'BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN' a person asked me:
"Are you here for Bruce Springsteen?"

~ 'Where did you buy your contact lenses from?' ( I don't wear any -_-')
~ 'What are you doing?' (while eating a sandwich -_-)
~ 'Are you busy?' (while writing an essay -_-")
~ 'What kind of coffee do you want to order?' ( 2 seconds after telling the certain person that I don't like coffee -_-)

To be fair some of those aren't questions.

When someone comes up to you while you're doing something and asks "Are you busy?" what they are saying is "I'm trying to politely ask you to stop what you're doing and pay attention to me."

And often as not "What are you doing?" is a weak way to say "Hello, I'd like to talk to you." If it's a shy member of the opposite sex maybe just let it slide.

ok, you are right about the first one to a certain extent.
but about the "what are you doing?" one, in my native language it was asked in a way that meant just what I said, the person referring to the action and not saying "Hello" 'cuz I know how to make a difference between the 2 (and it was said by a girl, not a guy ). it's a matter of situation I don't use to call people dumb if they are not.

There are no stupid questions, just stupid people. This may seem like quick witted wordplay, but it has a fundamental truth to it. Questions themselves are never dumb, it isn't stupid to be ignorant, being stupid is being ignorant even after you have gotten an answer to your question.

I think Eris is right. Questions are innocent. In any case it has more to do with who is asking and what is being asked about than the actual question.

For instance, 'What is your name?' asked to a person wearing their name on their shirt (indicating very clearly that this name belongs to this shirt wearer) would seem stupid. But if the person asking were blind, it would be much less stupid. -shrug-

Actually the nice thing is that I don't even have to check, the signal to noise ratio stays at about that level most of the time.

But a pestering question I hear a lot is "what is that?"
