Do your Hobbies and Ambistions from Childhood Differ a Lot from Your Interests Now?

My hobbies have somewhat changed, although I keep the same ambitions. I have always wanted to be a police officer since childhood. Now I am almost there, very close in fact. I am making very good progress to reaching my dream, which I am proud of myself for. Eleven years of school, three years of college and this is where it got me. I am not all the way there yet though so I will not relax just yet. I have every right to be praised though.

Hobbies are a little but different. I do still play video games and such, although I do not play with stuffed animals and toys anymore. I also do not feel the need to climb garages, throw water balloons at peoples windows, or anything else like that. I would still love to play Hide and Seek though, and climb tree's. I did some silly things during my childhood..things that I would not even dream of doing now. Idiotic things. Now my hobbies include playing better computer/video games, watching anime, simply seeing my friends, and learning. But I still do play in the bath...(haha)

I am a very different person now than I was in the past, although my ambitions for the future have stayed absolute from childhood.

Well somehow I found myself working in a career that I was interested in as a kid. I didn't think I'd ever be doing what I do now because I was always discouraged from it at past jobs because people said the IT field would go nowhere. I used to be a skater kid but grew out of that but I still do play with wheels (cars).

I think the only difference is that when I was young my motivation was doing what I was told. Now my motivation is amusement.

This is not to say I'm not trying to accomplish things, I mean, I'm in college after all, but I don't really consider it a serious goal. It's just something moderately amusing with which to occupy myself, the same as my future career will probably be.

But in all seriousness, my hobbies have changed alot and so have my ambitions. This time my ambitions are well, realistic xD

Hobbies now: Apple pies and videogames.

I believe the only goals I had back then were catching all the pokemon (which used to be 151/251) and finally beating the secret dungeon in Star Ocean: The Second Story.

Yes, When I was a kid I was a VERY outdoorsy person and non-computer oriented. Now basically everything I want to become now is technological.

But I'm closer to this dream than what I ever was to any past dreams.

when I was a kid I liked playing with star wars action figures, watch anime and movies and play sports and video games and I wanted to be a teacher. Now as an adult I collect action figures but keep them in plastic so I can't play with them which make no sense to my daughter, watch anime and movies and play sports but not as much or as long as I did when I was a kid, and I never became a teacher. My wife says all the time that she is raising two kids instead of one. Does that count for anything.

my hobbies changed a little bit over the years, i'l start 9 years ago, my age cut in half:
AGE 9:
Wanted to be a fireman, my hobbies at that time included pokemon, and tearing things apart, like kitchen appliances, i used to play games like DOOM 2 and Heretic, and all i really wanted to do was have fun with my life and i didnt like music

AGE 18 :PRESENT DAY
Now i want to be a computer technician, my hobbies now revolve around reading, playing new age games like Halo 3 and GTA 4, now when i take apart things i remember to put them back together again and i spend most of my time outside, or in my room reading books, and now i have an ipod fully loaded with music

before, in my early elementary days [2nd grade], i wanted to become a teacher. but after a year, i realized that teaching will never be easy for me. i saw what the students do to their teachers, and how hard it is to teach !

My hobbies have really changed. I used to be into drawing and doing cartwheels but now Im really into horses and writing. My ambitions have never changed. I have always wanted to go to UNH (A college called the University of New Hampshire) and bring my horse with me and excel in a career involving horses. Horses are my mane goal (haha get it? Mane?) and I know they will always be a big part of my life. Though I have been riding most of my life, I got into it seriously about 6-7 years ago. Horses are apart of me and i will never let them go. Ever.

Almost everything about me has changed since I was a kid. The only things that have stayed the same are I still like to read, and write. Nothing else is the same.

I still love pokemon. I still build stuff out of lego. I still go to sleep at night with Ringo. I'm still scared of JP films. I still read a lot.
But, some of my other interests have changed and matured. For example: I now cry at sad films, I no longer go EEEEW at kissing, I am interested in music a lot more and the books I read are no longer all by Jacqueline Wilson.

But, I think I will always remain more-or-less the same and I sure hope I never lose the ability to laugh at life.


Edit: Oh, my ambition when I was younger was to become an illustrator. Which combined my love for books and drawing. Now I am far more materialistic and currently aiming for a highly paid job like a lawyer or something. But that's only because I get to spend my money on the things I want- like lego, dvds, cds etc.

Well my dream as a kid was always to join the military.Becoming a member of the army.To serve my homeland.Especially driving a tank.Oh yeah.But eh since i am a bit big for a tank.Eh well so i lost a bit of that so i am more into traveling the world.So that would be my new ambition.But i can't deny the call to go into the army. :]
For hobbies well as a kid i always played with Lego stuff and Transformers.Eh hell i still have much of that stuff in my attic.I was also very keen on breaking stuff then putting them together.So that was pretty much about my hobbies. =D Repairing stuff.
Now my hobbies would be watching anime and hanging with my friends and music. :]
