My fav. bands of all times are MAXIMUM THE HORMONE (Not just their Death Note stuff, their whole discography! They are one of my fav. Japanese bands of all times!), HIGH and MIGHTY COLOR (Too bad Maaki married the guy from DCT! Anyways, I love all of their songs, especially their cover songs and new singles!), UVERworld (Their stuff is random, and not many people like their sound, but their new album PROGLUTION rocks! Takuya is hot, too!), Girugamesh, alice nine., FAIRY FORE, 12012, Danger Gang, and JUDY AND MARY!

Arashi (嵐, lit. storm?) is a five-member Japanese boy band under Johnny & Associates. They made their debut in September 15, 1999 in Honolulu, Hawaii. The group was signed to the Pony Canyon record label from 1999 to 2001 before transitioning to Johnny's Associates-powered J Storm record label in 2002, producing their future singles and albums.
Most people think that Maximum The Hormone is the best band evar. They really aren't.While the vocals of the female contradict the voice of the male they have alot of flaws. The voice of Ryo Kawakita is very messy and even his Japanese isn't very understandable.
Remember, they're just listing whatever band they heard from the latest popular anime, and maybe a few generic visual-kei bands.
Well, since I'm posting here, I might as well...
The Predators are a group formed in 2004 by JIRO, of Glay, Sawao Yamanaka, vocals for The Pillows, and Shinpei Nakayama, the drummer of Straightener. They are very Nirvana esque, while still having a sound reminiscient of The Pillows themselves. Worth giving a listen to if you like some good rock n' roll.

Tokyo Jihen. Shiina Ringo's voice is wicked in songs like OSCA.
My favourite band is Mr. Children though. B'z is also a good band to start out with.
Maximum the Hormone is an okay one. I personally like the Abington Boys School
Ami Suzuki's song Hopeful is catchy
Anyone here knows about Dir en Grey? I only know one song of theirs.... Dozing Green.

MOVE ON. DO SOMETHING BETTER.
*Cracks knuckles* Japanese music, you say? Well, here I go again!
I'm more of a V-Kei and J-Rock person, although good J-Pop bands/singers find a way into my playlist. Let's start.
MAXIMUM THE HORMONE is actually a band that has been around for quite a couple of years now. Ryo actually, like stated before, has a really messy way of singing, and his sister, Nawa, makes up a bit for that. I, personally, love the band, because their beat IS catchy. I don't like their Death Note stuff, even though I learned of them through their. I think their DN songs are overrated. If you want to hear their real sound, try listening to "Kyokatsu", "Rokkinpo Goroshii", "Chu Chu Lovely Muni Muni Mura Mura Purin Purin Boron Nurureroero", "Bikini Sports Punchin", and one of their newest singles, "Tsume Tsume Tsume". Just to let you know, THEY ARE one of my fav. bands of all times.
Next up, alice nine. OMG! I was seriously obsessed with this band! I, over the summer, would listen to them non-stop! But, I've got to admit, they are one good V-Kei band! Even though you may think they are overrated (Because almost everyone who is into J-Music knows them), give them a try. They won't dissapoint you. TRUST ME.
HANDMC, Haikara, HIGH and MIGHTY COLOR... whatever you call them (I call them Haikara). This is MY fav. band, though too bad that Maaki, the heart and osul of this band, is leaving! *sobs* It's sad... Anyways, a band that mixes J-Pop and J-Rock and J-Rap... wow! Never seen such versatility in a band! Just listen to "Mirror", "Rejisutansu", "San Dome no Sakura", and "Kirakira Summer". Some of their latest singles, but good ones! And, if you love them after that, listen to Maaki's last single with Haikara, "Remember".
I also like Abingdon Boy's School! Of course, Takanori (T.M. Revolution) is the lead singer/vocalist. I've got to admit, though, I never like T.M. But, after listening to Takanori's voice in J-Rock, I fel in love with his voice! His voice is awesome! I'm probably not wrong to say that he's probably one of the best male vocalists in Japan. I also have to admit that this is one of the bands which I like ALL their songs... ALL.
Well, for now, that's what I'm saying. For J-Pop, definitely try Perfume. Great female band.
Oh, yeah. For English songs from Japanese bands, ELLEGARDEN is a must! They speak English, and not "Engrish".
Almost forgot! Girugamesh is awesome! But, in the whole sense of awesome! My current fav. Visual Kei band!
So many to choose from, really can't believe it was thanks to anime that i am now able to enjoy all these different awesome artists.

Well, if we did that, about 90% of this thread wouldn't be here. I've said many times before, there's a fairly large gap between those who like music from Japan, and those who like music from anime. Kind of sad, especially when they're talking about great bands without know anything about them.
