Your parents forgetting is pretty bad, but on the internets, don't beat yourself up about it. You need to sow these things into peoples minds in advance for people to recognize them online. Yes, as Eris said you can't really depend on people on the internet remembering without any kind of clues. Myself, I'm terrible about checking the birthdays list, so I tend to start threads only for people I know have upcoming birthdays. And I've only memorized those of people I've known for something like 7-8 years >.> Heh heh. Though, even if I had looked, I'm still not used to your new name.
I know what it's like to have your family forget it though. Mine is the day after my brother's, so oftentimes I'll receive the birthday wishes that day, with nobody bothering to say anything the next. It sucks, but sometimes you need to bite the bullet and tell someone rather than let it ruin your day.
So, sorry for not noticing, and I hope you manage to have a decent birthday in the end.

My friends usually fail to remember my birthday, as do those I converse with online. It shouldn't make you feel down - People have a lot on their plate, it's hard to remember when someone else's birthday is unless they make a point of it. Your parents forgetting though...that I'd be a bit concerned about.

Most of my friends know the general area of time of my b-day, but they never remember the exact date, unless I tell them the day before. I know how it feels when people forget your birthday, I felt like crap my last b-day.
Last year all my friends forgot my b-day, and when my friend Jennifer realized no one had even said happy birthday, she planned a small party for me the weekend after my b-day, and it was awesome, and it was a surprise, I had no idea. It was about 12 people and we played Rockband, and a bunch of other games, we had pizza and Togos and cake and it was just awesome.
Sometimes them forgetting isn't too bad if they try to make it up to you after, if they don't then that just plain sucks.
I never play to win. But I do play not to lose.

I can't remember any birthdays outside of October/November/December unless they are the 1st of the month.
Mainly because my mum, dad and sister's birthdays are all in those months and I've never had to memorize any others.
