Anime Club?

So there has been this anime club being passed down in my school year to year, and this year its my turn ^^ it has kids roughly from gr 9 - 12, and i really need some ideas on what to do. Like sure watch some anime, learn some stuff and draw, but i only have a few ideas of stuff that might entertain these kids. Any one have ideas? I'd really appreciate the help ^^

I just got done with my anime club. Some of the things we do is fund raise to go to a convention. We basically sell food for profit. Pizza sells really well.

XD ya last year we had a ddr party and made rice and pizza and all kinds of stuff but charged and entrance fee. Also we're going to be having like "monthly draws" and stuff, but i really.. just.. like,.. idk, i have a whole year and the only stuff i can think of is like learning para para dances and random crap XD cause there's like certain days we do stuff and one of the days is a "Random Awesome" day so i need random awesome things to do T_T

I planned to form an anime club in our school but wasn't approved by the director...T_T Usually we'll have lots of activities - cosplay, doujinshi (for fun), anime and manga reviews, sing anime songs, play games and stuff. We'd also draw fan art...or do RP. It's pretty fun....if you can manage. =w=;

I've had an Anime Club in my school. We cosplay and during festivals, we also turn our club room into a Coscafe >.<! Lots of stuff we can do. We have a whole stack of manga in our "Manga corner". Doujinshi isn't a must, we prefer cosplaying since we aren't that good at art. On normal days, our club-Uniform is a seifuku, otherwise anyone you wanna cosplay as.*Since's its a seifuku, We call our club president Haruhi >< hehe~and she enjoys it ><

lmao thankyou so much, so a cosplay cafe sorta deal would be really cool. cosplay days, we don't have much of a manga section in our library, so singing anime songs, kinda like kareeokee, how ever you spell it XD
what about games, like.. i can't really think of any =/ we used to just play man hunt outside XD to stay active after watching anime, but i can never think of anything anime related. ;_;

Read it. The anime is a pale, hollow comparison to its epic manga. Plus it will give you a decent idea of actual club activities. Perhaps, as a group, put together a manga. Again, sell foods. Make homemade pocky or something and sell it. Have a cosplay day or something.

Honestly, I've always hated school anime clubs. Hence why I mocked mine throughout highschool.

Maybe you can hold contests to come up with your club mascot! =D Something fun, even chibi, or maybe a made up animal (anime is full of them).

As for your randomnesss days, why don't you play this game called Fruit Basket. No, it has nothing to do with the anime, but it is very random and fun. Sit everyone in a circle, and each person picks a fruit. Then someone is picked, and they name a fruit in the room (LOL) that they're not sitting next to. Then that person has to name another, and so on. If someone calls a fruit that they are sitting next, no one has, or is already out, then they are out.

Another game, I don't know the name but it goes like this: someone rolls a dice, and the other people try to guess when a one will be rolled. They stand up if they think it will be a one. If they are wrong, they're out for that game. If they're right, the game ends and they win. Multiple people can win. =D Sounds dumb, but its fun as people start to think people are "jinxed", try to cheat, and/or think the dice is fixed. xD

You know, you could also offer very mild and basic Japanese lessons. It is my belief that most anime fans have an interest in learning at least that.

Last suggestion, making your own live action fan animes. If you can get your hands on a video camera and someone who knows a bit of editing, you may get lucky enough to post it on youtube. =D Or better yet, make a myspace for your club and post it there, along with other stuff.

Ugh... my anime club... sucked. It was run by a beeawoo who refused some of the greatest anime. She refused BECK, Wolf's Rain, Get Backers, and even Black Jack. All of which I either brought in or suggested. She wouldn't show anything that didn't have to do with bishounen, shoujo themes, and non-yaoi/yuri themes. She was quite the ignorant little girl :/. So, I left all those beeawoos behind and played more D&D.

The anime club at my school sucked, the dude that ran it was way to busy with other to stuff to run it properly, so all we did was watch anime, we never had any days with actual activities, we didn't even raise money to go to Fanime. I joined this club my freshman year, but never again as long as the same guy runs it.

As for suggestions, raise money to go to conventions and maybe let the club member choose what they want to do every once in a while. If they don't want to watch an anime, then don't force them (like at my club), and maybe let some members make suggestions on what to watch. If someone wants to watch a specific anime and they can provide it, let the other club members decide if they want to watch it or not.

I know that i can't just be omg i want this, i have to be open minded and show what not only what i want but what others want aswell. But at the same time the teacher that is supervising wants it to be productive. but a lot of stuff that you guys mentioned will make it awesome XD yah last year there was 2 people running it and it was super lame, they either watched really bad anime or played with naruto cards =/ never anything original which is why its going to be hard to choose who to run it next year. but really, thankyou for your opinions and ideas if you ever get any others please pm me ^^

This year in our Anime Club we are learning Japanese, and about its culture, which I think is really cool. We also watched a old japanese movie about samurai...I forgot waht its called but I loved it. We laso have an anime debate, which is really fun =] and at the end of each we usually have some discuss their favorite animes.

Maybe you should try to do some of that, It might be a good idea O_O

O_o, yah well i'm sure mine won't be as bad as hers, Plus if i was caught showing yaoi or yuri O_o..... oh god. I was scared enough showing them perfect hair for ever last year XD, im just worried about next year too cause all the kids that are possible to lead the club are all not open minded and only want to watch naruto =x
But starting one out side of school would be cool i know the only one here that's like that you have to be 17 or older. but these kids are like 14.

Games huh,I believe that you don't really need to have anime related games for a club...as in probably just for entertainment...PSP games?whoever has gameboys or nintendo or ps-s just bring it~!We have FFVII,X,XII(but it's in japanese) Sometimes we do speak Japanese, sometimes we just make a funny video and watch it ourselves!

Haha...speaking of yaoi and yuri....actually better to be shoujo/shounen ai...I thought that I was the only person in the club who watched it....but It turned out that most people know about it....sometimes when the teacher isn't around...my batchmates will just go fooling around...just like Hikaru and Kaoru....and then the girls will go like *ahhhhhh~so hot~!!!*faints...(Though I'm a fan of this...but I don't go as crazy as my friends do==")
