Have you ever experienced sleep paralysis? I have and a lot more frequently than usual these days, but there not freaky or scary exprience like other people have. My experince of sleep paralysis is always me waking up not being able to move or talk/scream then a few seconds later I do but the moment I get off the bed I find myself back in the same situation of not being able to do anything and this cycle repeats itself for several minutes, so Im more annoyed about it then scared.

I have had that happen but not for quite some time. Oh and everyone I've talked to that has experienced this, all said they tried to scream. I also tried to scream. I wonder why that is?

I have never tried to scream through sleep paralysis.
I have gone through sleep paralysis, usually its just more of the dream I was dreaming about, but when I am paralyzed.
It doesn't bother me much.

I have not, although I saw a documentary of a woman that had terrible paralysis during sleeping and waking up. She used to wake up and and these tall, black figures would walk into her room through the door, grab her and start choking her. She would not be able to move, scream, and even breath. Then just as she was about to run out of breath she would then wake up and start breathing again.

There were other sleeping syndrome stories but that was the most interesting, yet scarey. It is quite amazing what the human mind can achieve.

You know I may have, but to be perfectly honest for at least a half hour after waking up I just lay motionless anyway so I probably wouldn't notice.

I don't have that per say, but I have really terrible spasms when sleeping.I always assume it's devil possession, then I think...no I have that naturally.

My mom has.. But I have been lucky and have not.. Usually I lay there for 5 mins anyways... Unless I'm late.. then I bolt up turn on the light and frantically try on all of my wardrobe until I can find something I'm willing to wear that day xD

I have experienced this a few times, I don't really scream or anything; I just lay there and watch the ceiling -________-;; I have tried to scream the first several times it happened. I only is for like a few minutes though, so I guess it's not that bad.

I've done that before and it doesnt work and I even tried meditating out of it too and that doesnt work either. I usually have to force my body to move and when Im think Im already up, my eyes open as if I just got up and Im still laying on the bed paralyzed, which I keep repeating until I really wake up like I said before it really annoys the hell out of me.

Huh, I can be woke up by my mom for school and just lay their for minutes because I'm physically just not all there. And usually mentally either. It's a weird state where basically nothing happens.

Sometimes I can't move my arm because the circulation has been cut off by me lying on it all night.
But I don't usually try to move when i wake up...

thats not sleep paralysis, sleep paralysis is when your in the state in between being awake and sleeping/dreaming, in other words your mind is slightly awake but your body is still asleep.

Yea, I get that occasionally. If you remain calm, you could have an out of body experience. Though it's a little more frightening and realistic than the normal dream state, and it's harder to "pop out". You also can't go very far. But it's still a neat little experience.

Whenever I wake from a really heavy sleep. My body eventually moves from my efforts though.

Yes I have and a few days ago I had it. I remember it felt like someone lightly choking me. The dude looked like the milk man XD
But there are bunches of guys I know that experience the whole Old Hag thing. Just by hearing it I got so paranoid and couldn't sleep. I remember it would happen 4 times a week of struggling then stop and then maybe once a week. It was just pretty on and off.

It's a mechanism that's supposed to keep you from walking in your sleep and acting out your dreams. Sometimes you can wake up before sleep paralysis has given way, leaving you unable to move for a small period of time until your entire body wakes up (or you fall back to sleep).

It's can be scary if you don't know what it is.

In Japan, it's called "kanashibari" and people believe that they are being held down by bad spirits or ghosts. A lot of them also mention that it feels like someone (or something) is sitting on their chest, making it hard for them to breathe.

I've a had it a couple of times, but it has never felt like I was being strangled or like I had something on my chest. It's always been like that weird tingly/thousands-of-needles-being-poked-into-you feeling when you lose circulation in a part of your body. But I get it everywhere, and I can't move or talk or, sometimes, breathe.

Happens to me more frequently now than before. It used to be once every month or every other month. Now, it's like two or three times a month...

It's a very scary experience...

I have to have someone shake me, but since most of the time they don't know what state I'm in, I just have to move (sounds weird) a toe or whatever.
