Do you Fear Growing Old?

Not in the slightest. I will be a grumpy old man, but it'll mostly be an act. I can't really imagine myself as anything but that nice old man that good-naturedly pinches the waitress and dispenses advice with a wink and a glass of wine as old as he is.

It depends on how my life turns out. If I'm just gonna be an old lady sitting on my butt all the time with no life and no one beside me then.. well, I'm not gonna let that happen, I'd rather die. I'll probably do ALOT of hard drugs when my body starts going out, but I honestly don't think I'll live much past late 30s.

But it'd be awesome if I lived a long [til about my 50s] time and did alot of awesome things [not including drugs]. But either way, 50 is my limmit, I find it unnatural to live past that, and unethical.

It really all depends. Sometimes when I see those older women that are alone and bitter and snap at you every chance they get, I get thoroughly depressed because I start to wonder if that is how I will turn out.
No, because other times I see those older couples who after 40, 50 years of marriage and always being there for eachother I start thinking about, again, if that is how I will turn out.

But I will most likely end up neither, and die at a young age. 37 probably, after I finish college, have a family. It will probably be on my way to work. I'll get into a fiery car accident and die (hopefully) instantaneously. I won't have any of this suffering nonsense.

yes growing old sucks. You go out to play sports and the next morning you wake in pain, and as you get older your body just starts to brake down. Young is beutiful.

Nope, no - aging is simply a process of human life. If we turn away from aging we deny death. If we deny death, we are not lives to begin with. As life turns out to be something before death, we have to cherish it. I've heard the Fruits Basket song - pretty nice and warm ^_^ and also watched Gedo Senki. It's pretty much about life and death.
Personally, I do not fear growing old. Sometimes I just wonder why I was meant to live in this dimension....

Like others had said, I don't fear growing old; I just don't like the though of it. I don't like the thought of having to depend on others for things I can do easily now, because it'd make me feel like a burden to those people. I don't like thought of being weak and having a lot of aches and pains. Also, I do not fear death itself, just how I might die. For example, I'd much rather be shot in the head and killed instantly than die slowly, due to cancer or some other illness.

Anyway, all this is the reason I want to enjoy being young and strong as long as possible and not try to grow up too fast. After all, there's no turning back the clock. "Time waits for no man."

Nothing to fear, But everything to hate, growing old is what you have to go through in life, the sad thing, you won't be able to be as healthy as you are now, But for even anyone thinking they want to live forever...just to imagine...the earth won't be there forever and when it explodes in billions of years, you'll just be drifting in space....alone....wanting nothing but rest, yet you can't because you want to live forever.....yet i'm saying this- I'm afraid of getting old x.x

No, I don't. It's a natural cycle so you might as well get used to it. If you die before you age, well that's something different. Or if you're one of those desperate people who get plastic surgery to help aging look less visible. O_o

But it doesnt matter to me how I would look like as an old woman ... I think it's just the fact that I would maybe alone.

First come the grey hairs, then the wrinkles, then you lose all of your hair, then you become saggy in areas which varies from place to place depending on gender. I do not want to lose my lovely youthful looks, so I had better start taking lots of pictures of myself now and keep them safe and close. Maybe under my pillow or something, or maybe my secret place under my bed that no one except me knows about...and it is not under the bed just so you know.

I do not understand why people are afraid of being old and alone. When I am old I would love to be alone, to do as I please in my last few days in this life. I could play Super Smash Brothers without the worry of another asking if they can join in.

I much prefer to be alone anyway. I do love my family and friends, but I like being solo most of all. Ofcourse I would like a wife and daughter, but they will most likely die before me so I should not keep my hopes high.

Seriously though, if I did have a daughter it would be good if she were to pay me a visit every so often. If not then I suppose I could always go and play Bingo with all the other old gits.

Im kind of afraid of getting old, i like the way my life is now.
so to think that ill grow old and wont be able to live my life the way it is now, its pretty sad.
well then i guess ill have to make most of it when im young XD
