Is texting while driving really necessary? Is texting "OMG Rudy looked hot in math class" worth your life?I mean when you're drinking your more focused not to get caught. With texting your not even paying attention.
So which is worse?

Drinking while driving is TEN times lot more worse than texting while driving.
But in my opinion...
You shouldn't do EITHER one of them in the first place.
Calling while driving shouldn't be too much of a big deal though.
But yeah.
Texting/Drinking + Driving = BAD
I say drinking is worse cause you go to jail for it and you can potentially kill someone with texting its just a small screen kinda blocking ur vision you can see someone coming i think?? but if your txting u get a ticket which is always better than going to jail

I could see that since your really distracted ... unless your Like insanely skilled and just think about what your texting while your Thumb does the work not your eyes.
Really depends how drunk the said person is when driving... How about: Texting while Drunk while Driving o.O? Guaranteed Accident; I think so!
Minnesota is a smart state. They made it illegal.California has yet to follow as well as the rest of the world.

That is a very good statement. Im going to ramble for a moment. First, i don't feel its really necessary, but I must admit i text while i drive, but its usually just to say, "IM DRIVING!" While stopped at a red light. Usually when people text they look up and down, like you would with most things you shouldn't do while driving, like putting on makeup for example. So in a way, i would assume you more.... with it? then if you were smashed, then its all a blur. (ive never driven drunk so i cant say i know what is on their minds. But ive had friends that were so smashed they didn't care about the police XD) Im not saying any of this is smart, and its surely not worth your life XD but id have to say driving drunk is more dangerous. In short, WAIT TILL YOUR HOME OR PULL OVER!!!!
It depends on how drunk you are. Really, though, they are equally dangerous, I think. Texting while driving requires too much of your attention, and I think doing it is a really bad idea.

Either way your attention will not be 100%. I'd rather text, if I was caught drunk driving then I go to jail and can't drive anymore.
Hmm, I was going to say at least you can [kind of] see the road while drunk. X_x My boyfriend was driving a 24 shot drive, and he was around...oh 3 hours away from me. He decided to be retarded and text me which equalled in him crashing and having to get 4 staples in his head plus not being able to see me. My sister drove while drunk a case of beers plus another one in the car, but she made it from her friend's house to the store without crashing. Just luck of the draw, I guess...
People that does a lot of texting doesn't even need to look at the phone to type, they can possibly just look ahead while texting. And the question was ither texting of drinking while driving is more dangerous doesn't make too much sense to me. If needed to talk to someone, well, why don't they just call?! or use the earphone while talking on the phone to prevent danger?!
Drinking causes the person unconciousness, illusion, or sickness, which can most possibly causes accidents. Lets not think about driving yet. Even if you walk while you're drunk, can you possibly walk a straight line with a perfect balance?! Driving is more difficult, how can you balance your line while you're drunk?!
Drinking alters perception and your ability to respond to situations. Texting means your attention is divided and so your observations and therefore reactions are delayed. They're just as bad as each other.

Well i think it depends on how much did you drink that is how much are you drunk.I think it's a bit less dangerous then texting someone.I mean cell phones take your attention and you have to look at it which is usually down and takes your look off the road.
Study upon study has shown that texting, or using a phone (with or without handsfree) while driving makes you just as dangerous as when you DUI.
Would you want to sit in the passenger seat next to a driver who is chugging vodka? If not, then you shouldn't want to sit next to a driver who is using a cellphone.
Hey look, Japan made a movie about me!
Actually, in DC, any form of using your cell phone while driving is illegal. I don't think you are even allowed to a have a handsfree device in while you are driving because it is the same equivelant to listening to an mp3 player. You aren't 100% completely focused on the road and therefore could crash and kill all those in your vehicle, seriously injure people in the car in front and behind you, and totally mess up several pedestrians, IF you didn't kill them. But DC is such a busy place they kind of have to take such precautions.
But to answer the OP, driving while being intoxicated as opposed to driving while sending a text message are two completely unrelated things. Aside from the fact that you aren't paying attention to the road as much as you should.
When you are drunk, or high may be some peoples cases, you are swerving all over the road, quite possibly hitting cars and people along the way.
When you text/call, yeah, you are still unfocused, but you can drop the phone if need be. You can't just drop the beer breath and slurred speech. You have a better chance at not getting caught texting than you do as an incapacitated driver.

I think Drrinking or texting with driving are equal
Agreed. Only morons would actually text and drive. And especially drink and drive. and why can't people text Stacy later? It's just retarded texting while driving. You can wait. If you can't, pull over. You're JUST as bad as a drunk driver. It's unnecessary and should be against the law. It might be, not sure.
I honestly think the driver talking/texting anyone is dangerous. Is that what you were saying aboutIf so, I completely agree with you. It's dangerous to be distracted while driving.Originally Posted by Eris

I think mythbusters did this and they both failed miserably.
Only fools accept the obvious and go no farther.Common sense isn't so common anymore."I'll follow you everywhere you go in my oh-so-inconspicuous bright red car and convince myself you don't notice."4// Itchy. Tasty.
