Hey all!After learning photoshop at school for 3 months(actually once a week in the 3months) and looking at all those wonderful siggies made by the sig gods & goddesses out there,I've decided to give it a try!Do give some comments on this very first work of mine XD


On Suzumiya Haruhi because I just watched it and I find her very cute XD haha~

Anyway Haruhi looks grainy and has jagged edges(?)
BTW what photoshop do you use?
imo the background doesn't really suit well..
To me Haruhi is a summer-y type of person xD
and maybe just resize Haruhi make sure you press SHIFT while doing it.. =]

@:O.o..it's actually part of our curricular in ICT lessons...Teacher didn't teach me anything about making siggies (T-Tthough my sensei is also an otaku himself...He keeps everything to himself T.T).Jagged edges...probably I did something wrong when resizing it(Does resizing it without presing th e Shift causes that?)...grainy ...I'm not too sure about it but I'll try my best to see what I can do.If I'm not wrong I think is CS3 extended since we use it for our lesson...

AH!!THE BACKGROUND>.< Should I change it to yellowish orange then XD but it sorta reminds me of Darling dreams siggie.Oh well~it is haruhi!

mmhh you can add layer mask to your original image and then play around with the opacity or fill... and the layer style if you like. Well, thats how I do it.

Or you can select the image with any marquee then go to Select -> Modify -> Feather... then click CTR+C and the paste it to the background, you canget a nice effect with this...

Pretty good for your first try ^^ You'll get there. On your very last post, try to use the burn tool to burn Haruhi. She looks poor quality. Or, like, try to darken her!! But nice stuff ^^

Advice. Done spread the text around too much. It kind of makes the signautre look sloppy. Another thing that you should do is center the stock. Its an honest early tag maker mistake that take some getting used to but, it will help you out by adding a center focus on your overall design.

I'm so lucky...we were slacking throughout the whole day since we had our first bio lab lesson in an aircond lab XD and we had to look at the onion cells under the microsope...to be honest...it looks disgusting....*vomit...I won't dare to eat the onions again...to think that I'm eating that many cells @_@!!
and the teacher was checking whether our images were clear and she went "SUI!"(which means splendid and beautiful in Taiwanese*isit?)sooooo loud when she looked at the friend behind me...everyone got a huge shock for her randomness==" ,and that's why I managed to get this done XD
I probably won't be submitting one tomorrow as I have orchestra practice till 6T-T but please do comment on my sigs ^^ thanks a lot everyone!!

Well it's ok although the text seems to be more eye catching
and put konata in the middle and resize it please
make sure your hold shift while doing it and she is a little blurry...
Not bad overall.




It's good but again resize Haruhi and make it more darker
Not bad on this one too =]

Don't really over stroke your text and make your chara brighter
since it's the main force for the whole lot not the text
although I love the circles ^^ and the groovy font o.o

Overall it's really good just practice blending them all in that's all
aswell as resizing them ^^.

That haruhi sig. I think the first blue version came out better. And take Serated's advice and try centering your extracts a little more. Also, you should resize your extracts to fi the sig. Don't just slap them in one side and be done with it.
TO help you improve, there's lots of tutorials that can be found here and other sites. Try using those. I'm sure you can do better ^^

Hi all~Tsubaki here!I've had a thread last time but due to inactivity..it's lost...O.O..I couldn't find it. Now I'm back in the photoshopping mood, I've decided to start a new thread. I believe I'm better than the past me....XD So here are my works. Sigs,pics,whatever. Some of the extractions are extracted by Serated that I found on some website and PlanetRenders while some are extracted by me at school but the teachers shooed students out for using photoshop and said that computer labs are strictly for schoolwork=="I hate him!!!>.<" okay.Here they are.

O.o I really love the first extraction it's lovely, although the sig itself doesn't blend too well with the extraction [imo] but I guess it doesn't look bad either ^^, I like the text [I totally fail at text o.O]

The second one is kind of huge O.O can that one even be called a siggeh? Anyway I think the bg color around the extraction a bit too bright o.O (esp the hat area)
Overall I like them just tone down on the second one and add something the first one, they seem a bit simple but good nonetheless.

Actually it's not a sig...because i did something wrong and i find that extract a bit hard to make the sig(no suitable brushes)...

Hey there~
You have a good start here.
But you should use smaller sizes.

Your latest sigs:
On your first one...I love all of the effects, but it's just the matter of size, again.

On your second one...I think you should change the bg color to more of an aqua color, like her hair. And I don't think that erasing parts of her was such a good idea. Instead, I'd suggest adding brushes a bit on top of her.

You're doing good so far!
Keep it up! I can't wait to see more! ♥

Mmm...I see that some people liked my road 2 stardom "sig..." ...but everyone's saying that it's too big...so I resized it...Personally,I think the original one is a bit better...but I've tried my best!;..;~

It's pretty easy to make a border, and I would tell you if I used the same program as you, but unfortunately I don't.
Try typing in your program your using with the words border tutorial on google.
I'm sure they are some members on here that use the same program as you as well ^_^.

The road to stardom sig looks much better and I like where the text has been placed. I think there should be some more of that dark blue(that's in the corners) in your sig. Try blending it and overlapping it with the light blue.
