Lucky I missed my chance because I was afraid to go outside in the dark to throw away garbage since there was a red moon out. I wish I could have been in Canada to catch an eclipse there >.<

Hm, I'm surprised I havent heard about it yet, I didnt know there was one this soon o.O I've seen a lunar eclipse but never a solar one yet...

It's not that interesting unless you live in the goofy parts of Russia, extreme northern Canada and/or China. Everyone else either gets partial eclipse or nothing at all.
Here's a map. The line is total eclipse.

Here's another map that shows the partial eclipse.

Even in New England you are unlikely to get much, if any, of an eclipse.
Ehhh, I dunno if I'll stick around. We'll see.

haha! I love the loading screen for your link MP2k. "loading the interactive solar eclipse google map" that's just cute. ^^;
So I'm guess that in the east coast it will barely be noticeable? That bites...
I hope I get to see it, but I probably won't be awake to see it 0_0;;;
Oh, Hi-deeki, imagine... your kind not eating raw fish! ^_^

if i can see a full lunar eclipse i think i may be able 2 see a solar eclipse.
anyway, that's besides the point. i posted this for other ppl 2 get informed. if i can't see it, oh well, at least i helped other ppl know so that way if they want 2 watch and they can see it they can well...see it. and hey, even if it's a partial eclipse, it's still some sort of eclipse.
P.S. my parents saw a full eclipse up here. they said it was cool yet freaky cuz they didn't know about it
Has nothing to do with it. I'm going to avoid a full explanation, suffice to say that these phenomenon move around. A full solar eclipse is visible in a very, very small area. See the first link to see that area. A partial solar eclipse is a much larger area, but even then it is too far north for you to have much chance of seeing anything interesting in New England. See the second link to see the area that will get a partial eclipse.
I'm sure all the AF users in extreme northern Canada, Russia, and China thank you for it.anyway, that's besides the point. i posted this for other ppl 2 get informed. if i can't see it, oh well, at least i helped other ppl know so that way if they want 2 watch and they can see it they can well...see it. and hey, even if it's a partial eclipse, it's still some sort of eclipse.

From where i am (NY) I know it's going to look good. I love watching the eclipse.
@MP2K--Your first link doesnt show anything remotely near the west coast of the US. We're not going to get any part of it are we? Might as well sleep in then.
...Oh wait, it'll still be early dawn or still dark out then I take it?
The second picture is probably more relevent if you are talking about seeing anything at all, but no way it'd be worth trying on the west coast. In fact, I think it will still be night over that way when the eclipse starts. I'm not sure the parameters for that picture, but even if I lived in a north eastern state there is no way I'd even try to see it. There's nothing to see. Eastern Canada maybe, if you don't mind a partial. I remember seeing a partial solar eclipse back in elementary school, it was pretty neat even if they didn't let us stare at the sun like as is our Pesci-given right.
Ehhh, I dunno if I'll stick around. We'll see.

I won't see it where I am, naturally.
If each mistake being made is a new one, then progress is being made.
I'm in australia, I won't be seeing it -_-

The idiocy of that post made me lol hard. <_< Lunar and Solar eclipses are two completely different things, positions and locations always changing from year to year, silly goose.
Anyhoo, neato, thought one happened a few weeks ago but I must have missheard, guess it was a lunar.
I missed the eclipse. It probably happened in a place far away from me, though.
I slept through the eclipse. It was only a 50-60% eclipse in these parts, so I didn't feel all that hyped about it.
Hey look, Japan made a movie about me!
Hm, all the solars Ive seen were at the most 40%. So Id gladly except a 60% eclipse. I enjoy the sight of it being mid-day, without sunglasses, and watch everything grow dim and dark. Its sort of eerie.
Meh, Ive stared at solars before. The shaded part is noticable when you get past the tears. Rather fascinating. >.o
It was cloudy so i did not get to see it i have not seen one yet but one day i will i would love to see one they seem so cool
