is everyone born to die is human life as insignificant as it seems , i mean i just keep thinking the same thing over and over " there is a reason for everything! " " but if i can't figure out the reason for living why should we live " i mean what's it going to do in the long run anyway , creating expensive technology sending ships out into space where are we going with this , where is the human race going ?

Now this is kinda on what I said about the religion thread, we honestly cannot predict the future, but we can fix mistakes to prevent a disaster for the future. We've been living on Earth a looong time now, and we still have the great ol' none-existence common sense that Benjamin wrote.People will find heroes, people will find antagonist (S), human kind can find all technology for greater needs, and peaceful solutions. We'll find our sacrifice tomorrow eventually to become a hero of our dream, basically. It's just a matter of when, where, how, and why. That's the recent History for ya. I usually don't make greater speeches' regarding on the future, because we honestly don't know. Sorry to say. To show you a reason on a perplexed situation on the statement regarding, "Aero-Space" technology, we are gathering more expensive technology from different third-world countries. It what's up in space so distant beyond the blackened sky, can keep us together in a long decade. Hopefully we will find other planets that support Oxygen, all metal (s) up in Space so we won't be able to 'screw' around with Earth on what we did with our recent past.

Mankind can't truly progress till we're at peace with eachother. And that's unlikely to happen soon.

If I had the chance to have eternal life with an option of returning to a mortal whenever I choose, I'd take it no question. It'd be amazing to see what happens to us in the future. Whether or not we outgrow hatred and war and if we colonize planets and make contact with aliens.

in nature the usual point of being is to procreate. You have babies then your genes are passed on and your species survives another generation. Personally I've chosen the point of my life to be happiness. I want to get what I want out of it. That also involves the having of babies- which will lead (hopefully) to a long line of decendants. Which both gives me a purpose and helps the human race to progress... Well hopefully anyway.

Which is why we need to expand to other planets. Earth just can't handle humans at the rate we're growing. It also limits the number of people who can live comfortably. But first, we need to even set foot on another planet. Robots don't count.

Uh, I think we'll probably out live the dinosaurs, be it on Earth or not. We've been here for so little time, but look at how much we've advanced technologically in comparison.

So far there is no reason we are living. No reason to why we exist. But humans don't like that. They want a reason for everything. So they came up with Gods. Gods gave them purposes in life. But these days people go to far with Gods. I think it's time to see that we made the Gods and that no humans should suffer from that. Throw away the Gods because we don't need those anymore. We know the nature reason. Evolution, big bang. All we have to do is give ourselves a reason to live for but not with gods. Because serving something that doesn't exist makes no sense. Rather, we could live for maintaining the balance on earth.

The reason you live for, is given by yourself. Life is for you, what you make of it.

LOL I remember somthing like this being asked in biology class and the teacher reply was to pass on our genes to the next generation is the true purpose why we're born. Me life is life no point in regretting it with its ups and downs its still worth living just to die in the end

Science doesn't answer the "why" but rather the "how". The big bang could explain how we ended up the way we are, but it wont explain how the big bang ever ended up existing. Also, it doesn't give a reason for the big bang or our existence.

It really depends on who you are. If you are that quiet one who gets bullied in school for your lunch money. Then yes, you are born to die, born to make others feel better.

But don't feel bad, why should life have any more of a meaning?

There is no pre-set "reason" for us living, we simply do. The onus therefore is on us as individuals to find some reason to live or at the very least, something to make the life worthwhile.

So we should just enjoy our life the way we want. We need not make any achievement, as long as our lives were lived happily and everything goes our way. Even there are times that we'll feel down, it doesn't matter either. There's a Chinese saying, "Life is like a stage-play." We should make this play ours. WE are the ones who take control of it. Play more chess and find more ways to amuse yourself. XD That's what I think, at the least.

WHO CARES! i say Fuzzikits all! im alive so ima live no matter what... i dont care if i live for no reason other than to reproduce and die Fuzzkit!
i'll do it my own way ,live how i wants ! woot! sometimes... and well i dont worry abouts outer spaces, technologys and shizz like that no mores theres no point im on earth and thats it i doubt i'll ever go anywhere else so let the governement spend tax moneys on pointless spy satellites and space stations and dead planet exploring missions...

The reason of our existence is unknown for sure, there are several different theories for what purpose are we here. But till we know it, if it'll ever be known to us, relax and try to use the best you can of the life that has been given to you. Cause sitting around and thinking about the meaning of life won't get you anywhere. Probably. Also, the reproduction thing ain't that bad at all. ;]

But really, how much easier is it to think that we all just descended from a big ball of electrons floating through space until it found more of those electrons of unknown origin that meshed together to make a planet, and of that one planet others were made along with more galaxies and etc, until on that first planted we sprouted as trees and became people or animals. To me, that's seems exponentially harder to believe than it is if there is a God, or 'gods', as you said. It takes more faith to believe that we inhabit from fish or primates than it does if we were created.

I sorry that I don't have an answer for the original question. When my mind is less jumbled from sleep, I will try to get back to this...

To me, there's not much of a reason. We're born, find someone to make more of ourselves with and we die. Death happens to all living things on Earth. It's not like we're meant to be immortal, then we have a purpose there :3

This proves a difficult question, if not impossible.
"What is the meaning of life?". An absolutely impossible question to 'know' the answer for unless ofcourse an individual makes up their own personal meaning for themselves. I'm not sure, if we carry on the human race for many, many more cenury's to come maybe God will make an appearance, congratulate our race for the number of active human years their have been, give us his seal of approval and a hand shake, then send everyone left to heaven after the Sun kills us all as a Red Giant the next day.
