Chobits wallpaper

I recently finished the Chobits anime, and I just had to make a Chobits wallpaper (my inspiration can come from odd places ;D)! This is my first wallpaper. 800x600. Please, constructive critism! I want to be able to improve! ^^

Don't blur Freya or is it a smudge tool
I see it from the way it's blurred.
And aswell as the background is too
plain it's less exciting(??)
Maybe try grunge-ish with glitter
since of course it's Chii and Freya..

Okay Aki.. here's my comment :

- The effect that you are trying to do is not good.. u need to see other wallpaper and take note how they compose, what effect they use etc.

- Now days people use higher resolutions so i suggest you make your wallpaper larger, 1024 x768 is quite minumum and 1280 x 1024 should be ok. BUT make sure you do it in bigger canvas first so that the wallpaper will be more sharper and better quality. lets says your target resolution is 1024 x 768, your original work can be in 1280 x 1024 or higher (twice the original).
You can always save to lower resolution later when you want to save it.

- I always search for photoshop tutorial, and when I interest in one result, i'll use it for my wallpaper. In that way I'll learn to play around with photoshop much faster. Without good knowledge of photoshop, getting an idea to work is much harder.
