Nope. I don't. Once it falls to the ground, no matter how good it is, or how "clean" the ground is, I toss it. The 5 second rule apparently does have MINIMAL validity in that more germs and bacteria gather on the piece of food after 5 seconds than after 1 but still, no. It's gross.

No. If you happen to drop it on the ground, there's good chances it'll stick to something on the floor like a hair or fur, regardless of how long its been on the floor. If it touches something, there's no time involved, it just sticks to whatever it falls on. And that's gross. : L

O_o;; it depends. If I'm at home and I drop a slice of apple and it falls on the floor, I rinse it and eat it. If it's a chip, I'll pick it up and eat it if it fell on the couch or like...on a piece of paper on the floor x.x If I pick it up and it has hair or dirt...it goes to the dog..

Now if it's at school, there's no way on earth I'll even touch it.

uhhmm....it kinda just....depends....on the situation...but most of the time i'd just take it and throw it away cuz the floors pretty dirty....-.-

If the food item is sticky or not completely solid, I won't eat it.

If the food item is dropped on terrain that has adhesive elements I won't either.

Under other circumstances I use the 5 second rule.

If I really enjoy what I am eating then by all means I will. If there are any hairs then I will just blow them off or something then eat it. Sometimes I do not though but in most cases then yes I do. Haha. XD

i wont, because the 5 second rule is nonsense. after any amount of time, no matter how small, germs will get on the food

well depends on the food...the place...how hungry i am and who i'm with...but usually after i drop something if it's washable i'll wash it...if it's not i let it be...it's not like i'm gonna get any fatter or any thinner
and it's not like the bad things on the ground are gonna' wait for 5 seconds and then furiously march on the dropped food...

5 second rule does not apply to me. Since I'm called "The Human Garbage Disposal" by some of my friends, I'll eat it no matter how long it was on the ground. I'll eat almost everything. x.X

Also, if I'm outside and it falls in the grass or the dirt, it stays for the birds and ants.

When people say "Germs will get on the food no matter what..." food will always have germs on it, no matter what. Unless it's decontaminated in a plastic bubble, but then it'll get germs on it because a human itself emits germs.

But it depends on what type of food !!I!! drop. If it's really sticky like molten chocolate. Then I won't eat it. Since I'm to lazy to scrape it off the floor.

If it's something hard. Like a sandwich. Then I pick it up brush off and sand and what not and continue to eat. ^_^

The fact of eating something off where people have walked on thrown up, or possibly pissed on, which would be called the wonderful "floor" then by all means...no.
Sometimes with chips, it's a different subject (not really...kind of, whatever), anyways, I don't care who does it, thing is I wouldn't do it.

It depends, I am very sensitive when its about food.
If I just drop it on the table, then maybe,
but I don't if it did land on the ground. I have fear of germs.

If it falls on a basically clean floor that isn't often exposed to shoes worn outside, then yes. Too many people step in things outside for me to trust eating anything off the ground.

I'm of this opinion. Listing when, where, and what item of food is very complicated for me. It also depends on how I feel yo! So I take it case by case.

However, I would say more often than not I eat it anyway.

um, it depends.
if it dropped on a dirty ground, and I'm not that hungry, I wouldn't eat it.
if I dropped it on a clean place, I think I will eat it lol
but, if I dropped on a dirty place and I'm super hungry (like I'm in a desert without food or something) I don't care how dirty it is, I'll eat it...
but, a friend of mine follows the 5 second rule. and I think I copied her or something cuz sometimes, I do it too.. hehe...

5 second rule is worthless from a strict safety standpoint, but your chances of getting anything from a normal floor is near-zilch anyway. If it's covered in dirt/hair/dust/whatever and can't be easily cleaned, then I won't eat it. Otherwise, I eat it.

Sometimes it'll apply to me. It depends on where I am, what the food is, and how often people have stepped in that particular place. My other friend, however, has eaten something that was sitting under a bench, that I dropped the before, and had been rained on. lol She doesn't care. I still find it disgusting but...I'll follow it. Once in a while.
