I totally forgot the name but whoever crated the book Eragon I absolutely love to death as that has became my all time favorite book series, as well as opened my imagination even more. Even strengthened my love of dragons to the point of almost obsession and practically a dragon expert. xD! Sorry if that started getting off topic.

My favourite author is famous British writer George Orwell. My Grandmother used to live next door to him a long time ago when she was still very young. Also Hideo Kojima based a lot of incidents from George Orwells novel "1984" in his "Metal Gear Solid" series. "1984" is also my favourite book.

call me a girlie girl, but Jane Austen is my favourite. But I also like Sarra Manning (DOAC, Guitar Girl, Pretty Things. Best YA books ive read), Lemony Snicket (the first real series of books that I finished reading. I was no longer a series virgin. It was a sad time for me...), E. Lockhart (The Boyfriend List and The Boy Book were good, I loved them, I just didn't like Fly on the Wall. Too graphic. >.<), Paul Stewart/Chris Riddell (they write The Edge Chronicles. Tis' intrigueing), Sara Dessen (I loved the movie How To Deal and so when I found out it was based on
a book I was like "ah!"), C.S. Lewis (The Screwtape Letters were good, but ive only gotten halfway through Chronicles of Narnia), Tolkien (those movies were awesome, but to get literature based movies to be really good, the books have to be astounding!) and J.K. Rowling (nuff said right there. Although I still do have a small trickle of hope that she continues making her stories...)

It always bugs me when people say that Stephanie Meyer/Christopher Paolini is their favorite author. Wow at not being able to recognize a popular suck.
But then I check the age listed and it's usually under 15, so it makes sense. Plus J. K. Rowling wrote Harry Potter, which I've loved since I was 12, so I guess I'm in no place to say anything. XP
I don't read nearly as much as I should. I've only read the first book of the Song of Ice and Fear series, but man, Martin knows his stuff!
And Madeleine L'Engle will always, always hold a special place in my heart. It was A Wrinkle In Time that awakened me to the joy of reading when I was a young girl. And all the other books in the series were just as great. I was saddened when I heard she passed away recently.
