4th of July Celebrations?

As we approach the "America's Birthday", I wonder...how do other people celebrate?

My family goes to our lake cabin and invites a load of other people to come and celebrate with us. And by "celebrate" I mean, play with fireworks. xD At noon there's a boat parade on the lake. They used to throw candy out, but not anymore. I remember waiting there in a floaty ready to catch a tootsie roll. Then at the end, we have a whole fireworks show in the evening. The lake reflects everything, and it is so beautiful. Though, I'm a bit anxious to see the show this year because of the high gas prices, maybe some people won't do it. D:

meh.....here in NZ we dont celebrate the forth of july, but celebrate guy fawkes night like hell. damn goverenment have completely outlawed fireworks in NZ now! no guy fawkes for you! still we can make our own fireworks....

I don't celebrate that day... it's like all other days for me nothing special, so I don't really care :0 and I don't like fireworks that much >.>

I was supposed to meet the rest of my boyfriend's family on his mom side.
Then I heard that it was postponed...
So I really don't know anymore.

I really do wish to meet them all. =]
If not then I'll be stuck at home.
Or me and my boyfriend will plan something on that day.

People where i live don't really do anything special. Of course, there are the occasional fireworks display, etc. But my family treats it just like another day in the week. We used to travel, although it sometimes got really hectic.

Well, past couple '4th of July' celebrations haven't been as good as they were a few years ago for me, but what we usually do go over to my aunts during the late afternoon or early evening and visit there. Then later when it's darker outside, we shoot fireworks there.

im going down to Oregon on July 4th. We are going to meet up with my G-Ma and Cousin from Hawaii there. We are spending a week or so there.

On the 4th I won't be doing anything. I will on the 1st though, when we have our Canada Day celebrations. Usually some good stuff going on aside from the fireworks.

Actually I will be probably at work, not giving a toss, at home not giving a toss, or up Hednesford smoking marijuana, not giving a toss. Either way I wont give a toss.

The only thing we celebrate that is close to the 4th of July is Guy Fawkes Day; but we can't buy fireworks in New Zealand now.

I'm probably going to light some fireworks, and chill with mah peeps! But if it's like last year, then it wont be anything special. The cops around here have a tendency to check my house for fireworks. xD

Im probably going to do the same thing I did last year. Go down to the Res, buy a bunch of illegal fireworks and go to "war". Last year me and some friends where at a party, a few bands we are friends with plays, then we got into a little argument with the people acrossed a field about the music. It really got interesting when I grabbed a mortar tube and held it in my hands for better aim and shot it over their cars. Oh what a night it was. Five "metal heads" vs a group of about 50 hardcore punk kids, it was such a nice night.

Eh. I dunno. I usually just sit outside and listen to nearby fireworks, it's relaxing but other than that I don't care for it.

A few people from my Mom's family come over to our house for the whole day. We have a barbecue and then light fireworks. When we run out, we watch our neighbors' fireworks.
Though, this may be the last year, because next year, the city may ban all of the fun fireworks.

I've got about $450 saved up and still have all of my fingers. Over the weekend I'm gonna head out and buy myself a respectable stash and on 7/4, I'll try to keep my appendages acounted for.

well, fireworks became illegal, cept for trained professionals, in my neck of the woods, so me and my family buy sparklers and stuff like that to replace them. we also either have a cookout and spend some time with other family members, or we end up going to my aunts house for a big 4th of july party.
