It depends on the age. If you're in teenage years, I think it's strange to be dating someone plus or minus three years than you. If you're in your thirties, it's plus or minus five. If you're in your fifties, it's plus or minus seven. Etc. There are exceptions though.

Personally at this moment I would prefer dating someone no more than one year younger than me and no more than two years older than me. Though I'd have to be dating a college guy for that to happen, and I'm definitely not seeing that happening. O.o

Well, I would say the whole maturity has nothing to do with age, but I do always seem to go for aguys older than me. 0_o The oldest guy I've ever dated was 5 years and 5 months older than I. Even my celeb crushes are much older men.

As I understand it, Falling in Love is subconscious. The subconscious partially over rules personal opinions, but it rarely "Loves" something that a person's conscious mind would conceder anathema e.g. White Supremacists almost never fall in love with non-whites.
