questions about points

i was browsing though some of the forums features and i found this points thing going on.
ive never seen this kind of thing on a board before and was wondering if you could help fill me in on it

when it says, attempt to thief points from another user, what happens if you fail? do you lose points or rep?

also, how do you get points? i assume you get them via users giving them to you, or by the quality of the posts you make.

if you could help me as im kind of a newbie to this, i would appreciate it.

To save you from attacks I'll answer =].

Points are like money and you get them primarily for posting. However, the chat part of AF is where all the money is and people have worked their way up from a small amount to much much larger amounts. Blackjack is how they did this but most people receive donations.

If your thief fails, you lose the amount you attempted for and they get it instead.
