What is Blood+ about?

I've been watching a few times I think the show is pretty cool I just want to know how did it start or what is it about? I still think it's cool no matter what, but i just want to know.

Blood+ is one of my favorite Anime series. It focuses on a young girl, Saya, who is actually a Chiropteran Queen (basically a vampire but sunlight, crosses, etc. don't bother them). Haji is her immortal companion and Diva, her evil sister, is her main enemy.

Saya and Diva's blood is very lethal to other Chiropterans, which is why Saya has a special sword she uses when fighting them. Haji, Saya's loyal servant and companion, is a "Chevalier" (created by drinking Saya's blood), which means he is far stronger than normal Chiropterans. Diva has several Chevaliers that serve her as well. Basically, Saya's goal is to destroy Diva and thereby end the menace of Chiropterans.

I hope this is what you had in mind. I can give more details if you wish, but I didn't want to give away any spoilers...

Chiropterans are basically genetically bred vampires who were intended to be used by mankind but which turned on their creators, I think. They can reproduce but the babies stay like corpses for a long time. The show focuses on two factions which are led by the two sisters the show seems to be centered around.

I'm sorry, but this is incorrect. There are some genetically engineered Chiropterans (such as the Shiff), but Saya, Diva, and all of their Chevaliers have been around at least since the 1870's, long before genetic engineering was possible. And that doesn't even take into account Saya and Diva's mother, who pre-dated both of them by several centuries. Furthermore, the series strongly implies that only the Queens (Saya and Diva) can reproduce, and then only if impregnated by a Chevalier. Of course, any human can be transformed into a Chiropteran by either being wounded by a Chiropteran or by receiving blood from a Chiropteran.

If you get the chance watch the Movie too. 'Blood: The Last Vampire'.
I thought that was amazing.

Blood+ is actually a very good anime'... although when you get in the middle of the series, it tends to get dragging because the events go at an unbelievably slow pace.. it finally kicks off at about the last four episodes... i think... and the ending is probably one of the best in anime' history... (nah. that's purely an opinion)...

NOTE: Haji is miiiine!!! hahahaha... no... I'm kidding... I can't own the tall, dark and handsome chevalier.... cries in a corner

where did you get that from ? I didn't see one person in the entire series transform from being injured by a chiropteran lol . The blood thing I'm sure only applies to saya or diva (or any queen for that matter ) as I didn't see any Chevaliers making their own Chevaliers xD


As for blood + I LOVED IT one of my top fav anime now . Story is awesome and I love the character development in this one . alot of shows i've watched (including anime ) the characters usually stay the same more or less just minor tweaks as the show goes on . In blood + you see all of the characters (cept maybe lois :P ) change and develop . I also found this anime to be very deep XD IDK maybe it's the fact it chalk full of one liners lol .

In the anime, there is no evidence of humans tranforming into Chiropterans because they were wounded (if that was the case, there would be a lot more Chiropterans ) or when blood from a Chiropteran entered their bloodstream. The only ways that we have seen a human transform into a Chiropteran was when either Saya or Diva gave their blood to a human (when the human actually turned into a Chevalier instead of ordinary Chiropterans) or when humans were exposed to Delta 67. Although we know that Chiropterans are born from the blood of Queens, we don't exactly know how this happens (or at least how this happened before Delta 67 was created from Diva's blood). A Queen can only be impregnated by her sister's Chevalier and, from what we have seen, this leads to the next generation of Queens, not new Chiropterans.

ANYWAY, Blood+ is one of my favorite anime. Although it does slow down at certain parts, I still think that it is a very good series. The manga is also good (Saya is more accepting of her abilities in the manga) and I can't wait to read the rest of it.

I'm really looking forward to reading the manga , I just got a sampler and it's awesome .
