You could probably get a Dreamcast and a Japanese version of it for less than the PS1 version. It's a better version of the game as well.

First off the premiere of Street Fighter or commonly abbreviated as SF, is a popular series of fighting games in which the players pit combatants from around the world, each with his or her own special moves, against one another. Capcom released the first game in the series in August 1987. Which almost spawned fighting games of all sorts. Even though Ryu was the most commonly used fighter in the genre. It was even mine too.

Secondly, Mortal Kombat my other favorite top-knotch fighting genre game The original Mortal Kombat was developed as a reaction to the popular Capcom fighting game Street Fighter II, with digitized graphics of real game actors as opposed to animated cartoon graphics, and wonderful fatalities.

Critics said the game's graphic violence was only included in order to generate a public outcry and controversy that would gain publicity for the game. Although highly controversial, the mix of realism and violence propelled Mortal Kombat to widespread and historic renown. Again, the most majority of MK franchises people used Scorpion half of the time. Even I use the deadly antagonist Scorpion

Third possibly even for a gamecube franchise has got to be Super Smash Brothers which premiered on N64. Choosing from a variety of characters, two to four players fight on various stages, while trying to knock their opponents off the stage. Instead of using health bars like other fighting games, the game features percentage meters to indicate the character's vitality. At the beginning of the match, the meters start at zero percent, as it increases by hitting the opponents. The best character for that has got to be Fox, and I use Fox a lot in the franchises.
