What was your very first anime that got you hooked

mine was inuyasha it was the very first one i saw. it was late on adult swim and i was about 13 at the time. i found it fasinating. i loved to drawll at that time any way so it helped me. it is what got me hooked big time

I hate to say it but it was....Naruto -.-
but after seeing about 20-30 episodes I also started to watch other animes...like Hellsing and that was when I was completly hooked on anime ^^

I'm practically hooked by all animes, but the first anime that I'm really hooked was Dragon Ball Z with Goku and others in Namek.

It was either Pokemon or DBZ. When I was 7-8 and older, I used to get up all the time and dance to the Pokemon rap song. I also used to pretend to "power up" and go all Super Saiyan, using my parents as targets. I loved both of these animes, and I still watch DBZ sometimes. I've been hooked to those two ever since I started watching them. As for Digimon, let's just say it was a temporary favorite.

Dragonball, it came to the U.S. when I was about 8, then came DBZ. Don't watch either anymore, but, those were my firsts. Wait, Voltron...

For me, Pokemon at age 9. It was like a drug! I'd spend all my evenings playing the gameboy games, talk Pokemon with friends at school, watching the show every Saturday morning, and collecting the cards like crazy.

Well, as a kid, I was into Pokemon/Digimon/Dragonball/DBZ/Monster Rancher, but never branched out. Then two years ago, I watched the first episode of Fullmetal Alchemist (I was at a friend's house and he recommended it). I quickly borrowed his DVDs, watched the whole series, and immediately started looking for other series.

Sailor moon, but I did not know it was anime b/c I was little. As I got older I found out that was anime and I continued to watch it.

Sailor Moon was the first anime I watched and got me interested back in the... 2nd grade (I think...?), but I didn't find out it was an anime until 5th grade. During 3rd and 4th grade I watched Digimon and Pokemon, but didn't realize they were anime. I spent most of my 6th grade hating anime, but oddly enough, it was Digimon (Tamers, to be exact) that brought me back into liking anime the summer before 7th grade, which eventually lead me to watching other anime.

Mine was Sailor Moon but i didnt know at the time it was anime. I was like only in first grade. But InuYasha is the anime that got me hooked. Its one of my favorite anime series.

My "very first anime that got me hooked" ... Well, I could take that in a couple different ways because, there were different animes that I enjoyed at the time, that I liked.

First off was Sailor Moon. It's safe to say that Sailor Moon was indeed the first anime that I ever watched--or atleast I believe it was--and I actually still love this anime [and manga] till today. I remember we had a club in school, and every day on the playground we would act out the Sailor Moon episodes, me being Sailor Moon. ^-^ Then for Halloween that year, I was Sailor Moon and my best friend at the time was Sailor Jupiter. I guess this anime really got me close to a lot of people, even if it was only elementry school.

Then comes the era of Pokemon, Digimon, and then Yu-Gi-Oh. Around this time, everyone was either obsessed with the cards or the shows. But to say that one of these was my "hooked anime" really wouldn't make sense, because I was interested in the shows--but "Anime" in general didn't always cross my mind as a "like" until probably near the end of the Yu-Gi-Oh obsession-thing.

Lastly, I'd have to mention my all-time favorite anime, Yu Yu Hakusho. This anime [and manga] has been my favorite for many years, it helped me appreciate the Japanese art that so many of us love. With this anime, I was able to learn so much about Japan and it's culture... as well as find my favorite bishonen, Hiei. :3

But yeah, I have different "hooked" moments I guess, haha. ^-^;
