DeathNote Vol. 13

The bonus volume of DeathNote is a great purchase for any fan of the series. While you may think all it does is summarize different parts of the series for you (timeline, character profiles) it has tons of bonus content. I particularly enjoy the interviews with the artist and author of DeathNote along with the 4-panel strips.

It also includes the interesting pilot to the series. While I thought it was a continuation/epilogue chapter I had to read through some of the interviews and I'm certian that the bonus chapter included in the book is the pilot. Good thing they did not have that "eraser" in the serialization because that would have brought TOO much power in the story (although it might've been interesting if it was put to use, but I doubt Light/Raito would ever use the eraser...well who knows I'm not a genius so maybe he would've incorporated it somehow haha).

Anyways Vol. 13 is a worthy purchase when so most bonus material for manga series seem to be lacking at times.

Oh and you get to know L's REAL NAME! Of course you could've googled it but just in case that never made it on your list of things to do then the book has it for you haha.

Recently, I've read :

- Line, an excellent one-shot by Yua Kotegawa (where two female students try to stop a series of suicides orchestrated by a Iago-like person, who tells them where and when the next suidice will take place, and taunt them to stop it).
I read it in Japanese, as there's currently no official English or French translation ;

- Samurai Deeper Kyo T.38, the final tome of these superb series by Akimine Kamijyo (the tome was released in France just a few days ago) ;

- Jin T.1 to T.5, a very nice Zipang-like series (where a Japanese surgeon of the year 2000 is transported back in time in the end of the Edo era) by Motoka Murakami.



And currently, I'm reading :

- Ottori Sousa, by Yua Kotegawa. It's a very good 10-tomes detecive series, but I'm reading it a slow pace as these series has no official English or French translation, and thus I read it in Japanese.
