Still cant get one, since I don't have a birth certificate. Every job I find, I need one of those. Im really mad about it, too.

I've been doing some modeling lately, nothing big or paying well.

I'm probably gonna get my old job back at 7-11 to save up some money and pay off some old outstanding bills.

To those who do not have a Birth Certificate, have you not considered acquiring one? If you are illegal aliens of some sort then why not consider forging your own.

Its not that don't I have skills, its that my town is crap poor and doesn't need anyone an where basically =/
I am writing a book though, so when I get off my butt and finish that I can rack in some green if it gets published.
A college called me today about an internship for writing =3 I was so happy that I'm being noticed.

Very well, then I should have said acquire some more skills that will increase the possibility of you getting hired. It was not that you do not have any skills but simply that you do not have the ones that the available positions in your town probably requires. If your town is that bad, then I would assume that the level of competition for any position can be pretty steep.

Wouldn't one need a job to know what he is good at? It's like my brother says, everyone (at least around here) wants people with experience. But then again maybe no one wants a 16 year old because of their limited hours due to Massachusetts law. Either way, I have applications sent in to every place that I can within two miles (can't drive so I have to walk =[ )

Trisseh it is a pity indeed that you do not have a car, but limiting the radius from your house really does decrease the probability of you getting a job significantly, especially if it is 2 miles. But I understand that you do not have much choice at the moment, your other option will be to use the bus.

It is true that employers will most likely prefer people with experience.

Just for reference, though I do have a car, the distance between home and the office is somewhere around 25 miles at the least, one way that is.

Thats true. I do live right next to many things though, Wal-Mart, A.C. Moore, Toys R Us, Barnes and Noble, Lens Crafters, a buffet, AppleBees, a sporting good store, a pet store, and two plazas. I can just hope that one will need a stock boy or something soon @_@ Because my parents won't pay for car/lessons/anything that involves money for a car.

Well, since you seem to be into the book publishing industry, I would say that it is best for you to try to get a job at Barnes and Noble, at the moment. Even if it will be a puny position, you will have easy access to a lot of published works and probably get discounts as well ~ for improving your writing skills and personal research that is.

My brothers walk about 5 miles a day to get to work. I suggest he just get a bike, much faster, and dont have to pay for a bus to work everyday.

I put in three applications to B&N in the last 5 months, and they hold each application for a year xD So yeah I really want to work there. I have a bike, but this is not a good area to be riding it in =(

Yvonso, well i do not know what your brother's job is so I cannot guess exactly his reason for doing this. But basically, I would say that it is most often hard to start a work day when you are tired, whether it be mental or physical in nature. And after work, would you not just want to relax a bit and cool off, much like sit in a bus and do nothing. I myself would at times wish I was riding a bus instead and sleep instead of driving for an hour after a busy day.

I'm getting a new one sometime around march I cant do it by myself because I have nothing to prove who I am. Well I do but the stuff I do have they want something else. So I have to get my mother to do it for me sadly and she keeps forgetting.

My mother keeps telling me that shes going to help me get it, but she still wont help me. I want to work at Wal-Mart because of its size and always wanted to when I was a kid.

I work at Continental Academy, where Im in charge of stuff like editing, covers, recreating images [like maps], and any other odd jobs they give me. Ive been here for about 2 years now. I used to do the companies advertising, but they outsourced to another company for that, and lost a lot of money. They may put me back on that soon :3

Walmart? my friend worked at walmant. He got a pretty good check too good luck getting a job there once you get your birth certificate.

I used to work at a Uhaul Company in my town. Pay was awesome and I did absolutely nothing but feed local kittens and ride around in the golf car on the property. It was great!! Might go back this summer again!!

I work at a library on the weekends and sometimes during the week if I missed some time. I'm planning on applying for another job but I just don't know what job yet. ^^

I ((Sadly)) work at Sonic Drive-in at the moment. It sucks but i do get paid about $200+ every 2 weeks.
