I haven't found this type of thread... So, do you like cooking? Are you good at it? What kind of food do you like/know/hate to cook?

I myself pretty much suck at it. I often cook something for myself, but it's mostly simple stuff like fries and chicken. But I love to experiment with sauces. And I make magnificent eggs. With ham, cheese, mushrooms, sausages, spices, milk... =) hah, nothing special, but it's tasty.

What about you guys?

I mostly cook simple stuff for myself, and on occassions I've had to cook for my friends who come over to our place to stay over for dinner.

I taught myself to make hummus, shrimp rice and chicken kievs. That's enough for me.

It is not safe to have me in the kitchen. These are just some of my feats:

• Burning spaghetti.
• Vacuuming a knife off a shelf, nearly disemboweling myself in the process.
• Failing to microwave food.
• Failing to make coffee.

We have much in common Eris, on my QL3 course in 2005 I successfully botched microwaving microwavable popcorn. I was outside arguing with Rogers about my cell phone bill at the time (on my cell phone of course) and I came back in and there was black smoke, and three of my course mates around a charred bag on the floor. Apparently it caught fire, I was sad to miss it.

I can cook Friend chicken, baked chicken, roasted whole birds, rice, mashed potatoes (from scratch) spaghetti (did i spell that right?) i can also make maccoroni and cheese, and i can bake cookies and make a cake, im still learning more stuff, oh and various breakfast foods xDD
my moms been teaching me since i was 11 cause im the only girl. ^_^ so i can be left alone at home if i was the only child. And everyone keeps saying they love my food, and i believe them cause my family isn't the type to lie, if its nasty, they WILL disrespect and open their mouth and tell you xD. V.V downside, they keep making me cook!!!

I'm fine cook. I can prepare spaghettis, lasagna and all that deal. But for more complicated dishes, I need the instructions near by.

The only thing that gives me problems is that damn microwave popcorn thingy. I never get it right; every time I try, is either not enough to make them pop or burned corn.

Oh popcorn is easy! ive been doing that since i was 5! just watch the popcorn, put it at a high amount of minutes, and when the popping becomes a bit far apart, thats when its done!

I love cooking...well, not so much the range type cooking as I love baking things in the oven, especially sweets.
I'm a decent enough cook on the range, just underappreciated.
As for my baked goods, I always get complimented on that, so I just be doing something right on that front. I love to make things from scratch. Mmm...especially quick breads and pies. Mmm..I need to make some of my delicious chocolate chip banana nut bread soon.

I can't cook to save my life. I mean, I can make simple things...from boxes or packets. I'd love to be able to cook though. I can pick up on little things I watch my mom do, so I think I can catch on.

I do enjoy cooking. Not sure if I'm good, but I believe my food to be edible. ^^ I really should cook more, but often times, I'm just too lazy. Hahaha...

I told my 14 year old niece (who by the way is already taking college courses) that if she put a TV next to the microwave, she could pick up HBO..and she believed me. And then I proceeded to blow-up the famous microwave by forgetting to take off the foil-wrap from a meal because I was laughing so hard at the gullibility of my niece. Needless to say, the family does not allow the two of us in the kitchen anymore. I have all the restaurant numbers on speed dial.

I love to cook! Especially deserts...hot, cold, or frozen. But I'm so impatient that I rarely cook because it takes time so I tend to go with foods that are already ready. Shame on me....

I cook mostly out of everyone in my family, and I do say so myself im pretty good at it. Although, when you have had 4 years of homeic, plus making dinner every night for your family- you tend to get good at cooking.

want to cook something cool, put a CD, in the microwave. but put it on a plate. now the magneto will not explode so long as no spark bridges the cd, or tin foil to the case of the microwave.

but on the side of cooking, I love cooking, any thing. but baking I love making breads. different types. cake too. I love cookies but mine always come out looking like turds, so I don't cook them often.
But when it comes to a barbaque I am awesome, I love it.

I'm good at baking things. I make desserts and sweets pretty well, I think.

As far as basic everyday cooking, I don't get the opportunity to put together something legit by myself very often. The only dish I really know how to make is chicken paprikash (which tastes awesome btw).

But cooking is fun, I've grown to like it.

I can follow a recipe, but I can't say I enjoy it much =/ I suppose I like it a little more now that I'm doing it more often and hubby seems to love everything I put in front of him. But I don't buy that it's always sincere <.<

Give me the recipe and the ingredients and I reckon I can cook just about anything. Really need to test myself of some harder recipes one of these days. Vegetarian chilli, stroganoff...nothing too special. Tasty though. I'm not too keen on things involving use of the oven lately. It's fan-forced, which I'm not used to (and don't like) and wonky. There's a 20 degree difference from non-fan-forced oven temperatures. And then we have to remove another 10-20 degrees just because it likes to burn things.

I'm okay with the basics, but I'm definitely not a chef. My parents and sis are the real chefs in the family. I can cook simple meals, but anything more than boiling or frying something would be hard for me. Though I worked at McDonald's, I never did cook anything more than throwing a basket of fries into the fryer.

I have the limited cooking skills of a pre-schooler or younger.

I can only heat precooked meals, make rice & scrambled eggs, and make ramen...I am horrible at cooking because I'm a klutz, dropping stuff everywhere and almost cutting off my pointer finger which could've led to the kitchen scene in the Japanese movie, Suicide Club...[see it to get it]
