Major Lag

On many fairly popular and forumnated vBulletin forums, I get these major lag spikes if I try to scroll or perform any action. Just before, the browser wasn't responding, so as usual, task manager.. but straight after, the task manager wasn't even responding I lol'd and cried inside at the same time.

Is there any way I can fix this? Like, 'if needed' go back to a regular skin

Actually, what it is, is the ads.

There's nothing really the forum itself can do really. It happens to me on just about every page I load.

It would probably help if users stopped putting 50 gif images in their signatures and creating a lot of things that need to load all at once.

One other thing that vB has that may cause lag is all the Ajax it uses to make it usable. But al this code gears it towards viewers with high speed connections as it requires the loading of more code. Problem is, you can't turn it off per user. It's either all on or all off.
