Last one got closed due to length and now I have a new thread with my new name. I guess this means I've been doing sets for quite some time now. I sure hope to heck that I've improved at least somewhat from my very first creations.^^'

Now, on to the stuff. First sig to ever grace this thread is an unbirthday gift for Sera. Just thought I'd make him one since he made a rather interesting comment when he, Unli, Megi and I were chatting on MSN. Text roughly translates to "Frozen milk please" >=D

Now for an update. Pretty fast eh? Well, I was already thinking of making Unli a set anyway, then I saw he made me a gift so I just rushed.^^ Kept this one uber simple with a little bit of Unli's style with the text and his new name in. As you can see, I had a little too much fun with the scanlines on this one.



Another update. I was unfortunate enough to have finished the gift at exactly the same day Unli decided to go back to his old alias.^^' Made a new one based on his new tutorial; made a few changes here and there of course. I think it came out good. Plus, I don't exactly have a pen so made the lines entirely by hand. Vectoring the Saber picture has improved my usage of the pen tool. Yeah...

New avi for me. It looks so deceptively simple but it's one of the most complicated pieces I've worked on. @_@ It was hard to balance out the light and the dark, and what with my mouse not exactly cooperating, the whole thing was fighting me all the way.

Nice style, I think it COULD be improved by getting a scan of some crumpled paper instead of teh white, and maybe add a little halftone.

Couldn't decide what was better for Megi's gift so I'll leave that up to you guys. Unli's avi was a bit of a challenge since the original had a pretty dull colour base. Had to paint it a bit again, and my mouse still fights me. Karuto's gift was fun to make, though I probably overkilled on the sharpen filter.

As always, all the extracts used (except for Unli's avi. That came from a texture I had saved) were done by Sera.

It's COOL vs WARM eh... xD
Hmm... the bg (incl. the broom and that seeming strip of cloth) of the upper one looks sort of murky to me, like painted with water used to clean brushes. I prefer the lower one's, coz the broom and cloth are more easily discernible. But I like how the girl look in the first tho'... idk, I just like how her hair looks against her pallid face >_< She looks like she was cut off a poster of an MMORPG xD

Well, that's just what I think tho'... my color preferences are kind of... off lately =/ so... that's that xP

I like the warm colored one. But you might want to use a font that doesn't stick out so much and goes with the sig better.

Remade version. Only one this time. I tried my best, but I think it's not really that good enough. I couldn't resize the new one correctly. D=<



Plus an inverse result from Sera's new video tut. Instead of coming out all bright and happy, the opposite appeared. Size is a little on the small side because I did most of this sig at school while everyone else was busy doing homework that I finished last Friday. (Our teacher's still absent. We were told he's in the hospital with a bad case of the flu. Hope he gets well soon; I don't want to change teachers in the middle of the sem and with midterms so close). Used PS7 for this one so the effects are a tad limited. Made two versions, though I think I like the coloured one better.

Made this again with the school's Photoshop. I've noticed that with the 7, when I resize characters, they tend to get more pixellated than they would be if I used my CS. =s Plus school's resolution is low, so I end up making smaller sigs.^^' This one sorta came out interesting though methinks. Extract from Sera again.

Try playing around with the fonts a bit (preferably, smaller and simpler). and once you done that, move it around near to the focal. and when youve done that, the right side'll be empty, now crop it from the empty :3

i like the third version, the last 2 has C4Ds that sticks out.
Try adding some abstract lines to cover up the emptiness.

thanks for the set I really like it KuroTan, I'll switch to it right away.

The avatar's awsome handsdown and so are the sigs although I like the cool one better, it shows all the differences of the character a little better than the warm one, plus I'm a cool toned kinda gal. Although when it came down to choosing which one I was going to use I just did eeny meeny miny moe.

Anyways, ... right the sig! I think it's awsome, it's a variation from your regular style, and you did good with it. The placement with the characters and words are very well done. I love the bubbly look it has, and how it seems to be blocked in, sorta like a TV in my opinion.
