Just threw Ubuntu out of the window and installed PC-BSD:
Pros:
- Easy installation process, took me 15 minutes to get the system up and ready
- Easy program installation by use of PBI, just double click PBI executable file
- Easily configured my screen resolution from the get go
Cons:
- PBIs aren't widely available, partly in due to PC-BSD unpopularity
- Default KDE, I'm a GNOME fan, not that there is anything wrong with KDE
- NTFS drives weren't mounted automatically, had to do that manually
My blog entry:
For Great Justice: PC-BSD, one of the world's most overlooked OS
PC-BSD official website:
PC-BSD - Home
Current desktop, also the default desktop, didn't bother changing it. I don't feel at home with KDE.
