Learning method?

When it comes to learning something, do you prefer to have a whole class of 20+ kids, or do you prefer one on one tutoring from a teacher? Which method do you learn better with?

As for me, I'm not learning anything with a whole class of kids. Sure, the interaction is healthy and exchanging ideas and making friends is nice, but what about actually learning from a class? I'm more of a one on one type of person to actually learn anything. I also feel that studying alone with nobody else is helpful too, but if it requires a teacher or instructor then I stick to one on one.

I learn best from one-on-one tutoring. I tend to goof off a lot with my friendly classmates that are adjacent to me, 'cause I easily get distracted in class. That's why I always try to sit next to the quiet ones, so I can focus.

I feel alot better with alot of students! First of all, because, I'm not a very good one-on-one person. (shyness) Second, it'd be too boring for me, so I don't get the chance to actually concentrate.
But then, with alot of students, then I keep myself awake (well, most of the time), and I like better learning with alot of people.

My mom does used to always hire me a tutor since I was kinder, until I ame here in America, and, I didn't need one at all. I don't even bother trying. (most schools in US just goes down...'n lowwww, while the other county's goes up...'n highhh *specially in Asia* It's because students in other country's usually get a whopping! So, yeah. But here i America, they spoil their kids here too much >:/)

I work better with just the teacher and a few other students, so kinda in-between =/ I don't like classes that have like 40+ students because it gets so loud and chaotic. Besides, I don't like being around so many people o.o

Some are very smart, and some just waste their lives in class. But the majority of the kids are smart, and it's just the fact that they don't try.

For me, I can't even concentrate with these kids! And that's how we got one teacher to resign. Mr. Ueland, our former physics teacher, retired because of the amount of kids that didn't take him seriously, and never listened to him. We had a sub for a month, and now we have Mr. VanWormer from Michigan.

I'm kinda shy in the real world, but I would defiantly learn better if it was one-on-one. A class with a lot of people is always gonna be funner, but the problem is that there are always distractions. I would actually prefer a class that does have about 20 or 30 students, but nobody talks(like my advanced geometry class). This way, I can concentrate, and because the teacher isn't just talking to me, there isn't any shyness.

Yeah, like back then, but kids in my school have become quite rebellious and will resist with force. Not a pretty thing to see, Matt being taken down by 6 teachers. -_-;

I prefer within a group, as long as I don't have to interact with said group.(sounds weird I know) But if you talk in world history, you get sent to the corner and laughed at.

I prefer a class of people I know. Then they start asking me questions and I also start doing that work to answer those questions. I won't learn anything in a class of strangers.

Doesn't matter on location, doesn't matter who's around me, doesn't matter what I have to work with. Rain or shine, night or day, class or at home, quiet or cacophonous, good teacher or a crappy one... Just give me a book and an iPod (even though music isn't really supposed to help, it ruins your focus but not mine), I'll learn it all and retain it.

best is to learn by yourself because you feel that way...it's true that first you have to learn how to learn and you need some guidence...and that's the purpose of school...but after you learn the methodology and you can learn by yourself there's no point to let other teach you what you should know and go independent...i don't say you should quit school or something like that but you could be a little more selective with the information that you receive and try not to get your head filled with all the bull-c**p that others may consider important...one-on-one tutoring is good when you don't understand something and you haven't managed to find an explanation on your own...

I work better with a teacher and some students. I'm not asking for 20+ people but perhaps around 10-15 persons. :3
I think it's good to interact with other people, share their ideas and ask help from them. If they happen to ask the teacher a "stupid" question then how about ignore the question and do what you were doing? It doesn't bother me if someone's asking something simple and unnecessary, really.

The best Environment for a teacher to teach is a one on one environment. I know I'm not exactly answering the question, but hear me out.

When you have a classroom of 20+ kids, the teacher has a lot of things to handle:

1. People not paying attention.
2. Answering the same question a bazillion times.
3. People that would rather screw around than work.
4. Those who purposely try to disrupt the class.
5. etc etc.

One on one, ALL of those problems are immediately erased.

I learn things better when I study ALONE. Teachers waste too much time and a classroom environment, to me, is nothing more but a distraction.

I don't like talking.
Mostly cause I'm usually not paying attention.

I found out that I work better with one-on-one tutoring from my teachers; it helps me learn more than if they were teach the entire class, because I'd be distracted by the other students.
