Ever given up?

What dream have you given up on? Was it because you didn't think you had the potential to achieve something or because it was impossible anyway? Or was it something else?

I'm trying to accomplish my dreams. I sometimes imagine what would happen if I just gave up on them. But the person I try to be every single day of my life won't let me. Sometimes it seems like it would be so easy, so simple, perhaps even better...but I know it's not.

Anyway, I'm done rambling. What about you?

Ive given up on a lot of dreams. I wouldn't say they were impossible to accomplish, I just have a hard time sticking things out till the end. I usually give up if its something that requires a lot of energy, or that may take a while to accomplish. I find things is life a drag, even my dreams. Ill most likely give them up at some point.

I have no dreams, merely malleable expectations. To set rigid goals or to dream of something relentlessly for years can only lead to eventually feeling as though life isn't correct or isn't complete.
I once wanted to be a commercial pilot, but did no longer once I realized that a pilot on psychoactive drugs isn't likely to be allowed off the ground with other people under his care. Then I wanted to be an aeronautical engineer, but paled when I researched the average hours worked per week. I've now shifted my goal to being a mechanical engineer. If this changes out of necessity, I likely won't feel any regret or sadness.
My dreams are those things I think I'd like to do but know I have absolutely no chance of doing. Because I never actually expect these things to happen, it doesn't matter when they don't.

My dream was to become a super hero, I gave it up cause I was four when I made it.

One of my childhood dreams was to become a Karate master, but I gave up on Karate. I moved on to other martial arts and am happy, 'cause I don't like to be countering and defending all the time! I was also influenced by Bruce Lee, who thought there is no master, because we are students, still learning. I quit Karate for several reasons, one being that it is all forms and light contact sparring. I wanted a more offensive, effective, and faster style. A street fighting sort of style, with simplicity and liberation. I know that it was I who crushed my dream, but I didn't care. Alot of my dreams are crushed anyways. Remember: absorb and take what is useful, reject and dispense what is useless, and add what is specifically your own!

Everyone has given up on some dream one time or another. When I was really young I wanted to be a Computer Tech at NASA, but when I turned 15 I realized that it wasn't going to happen. I was pointed more toward PLC Control and Automation. Looks like that's the field I'm going to go into.

That's not to say that when one dream is blown away and reality hits you in the face you can't make a new dream out of it. I have.

I'd always wanted to join the Air Force; I worked out, doing weights at the gym, and then the recruiter told me I wouldn't be able to get in because of my eyesight. Broke my heart to hear him say that.

But.........

I've gotten over it, and I'm going to be a software designer in the future.

Anyway, another idea I gave up on was making an instant french fry maker. I actually attempted it though. I took this old telescope I had and mada a potato cannon out of it. I still have that part. Then I put a grid on the front of it, tied two metal turkey basters to the trigger, and filled them with vegitable oil. Then I put the thing in a camp fire and pulled the trigger. I think they're still defumigating the campsite 2 years later.

But its pointless to keep dreaming of impossible things like my mom and dad getting back together again. I gave that dream up a loooooong time ago, and its the only one ive ever given up!!!

Not really. I tend to accomplish my dreams. I'm always thinking about the future, and what I would like to do and be, but until I become determined to go for it I don't consider it a "dream."

And, like I said, I've attained each and every one of those determinded dreams XD

Sadly i cant say i have much of a dream i do have goals and i do know when to give them up "Like i guess Britney Spears leaving LA" guess that dream did work and another thing some dream are just that dreams so i guess we all much give up at one point or another
