What was the last book you read?

I haven't seen any booky-type threads around here and am beginning to fear I'm the only bookworm! *le gasp* So my question is what was the last book you read, and how long ago was it that you read it???

The last book I read was actually Girls In Pants, the third book in the Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants series. And I would just like to say that I normally do not read girly teen books, I just was given the first book by a friend and it was was decent, and me being the curious person I am, wanted to know what happened in the rest of the books! And this was like the day before yesterday or something. It was a very easy read!

Currently I am working on Fatal Revenant by Stephen R. Donaldson. It's the second book in the Last Chronicles of Thomas Covenant. It only came out in October or something. It's far too intelligent though and taking me a while to read!

So anyways fellow anime fans, what books have you been reading?

Oh don't worry, when I have the time- I'm a bookworm too! Last book I've read recently was the first Necroscope book from Brian Lumley... I love his books. I've read that one multiple times already as well as the rest of the Necroscope series. (And others by him)

The Legacy of the Force series of the Star Wars novels, I Am America (And So Can You) by Stephen Colbert, The Zombie Survival Guide by Max Brooks, and currently working on Lamb by Christopher Moore. If you haven't heard or read any Chris Moore books, then buy some. He's my favorite author and great with satire, but his books are sexy and action-y too. I love them.

Oh, and I read all of George Carlin's books. He's my favorite stand-up comedian.

You've just missed those thread by a few months since I see you've just joined the forum last Dec. It was full of "booky-type" of threads then as you call it and all other sensible threads in between^^ I came to know a number of bibliophiles then... ^^ Guess now they're lying low with all these misc threads seemingly pointing to another direction altogether...^^'

But then now I'm getting through Peter James' Not Dead Enough and Murakami's Almost Transparent Blue.

The Adventures of Huck Finn in English class. It didn't interest me at first, but now I've got a little bit more into the book. I found it interesting because I can relate to Huck, and his abusive life, and the fact that he is an abolishonist. When it comes to manga, I'm currently reading the DearS series. I already read Chobits, and am thinking of reading Rozen Maiden, Lucky Star, and the rest of Battle Royale.

The Lies of Locke Lamora by Scott Lynch = great book, really great! A somewhat slow start, but it picks up soon enough!

A Companion to Wolves by Sarah Monette and Elizabeth Bear: I am usually causious of co-written books - but in this case it is uneeded causion - great tale and good righting!

Like... for leisure? I honestly don't remember. It's been so long. I'm drowning in course literature. Like today, I bought THREE new books, for a hefty sum in the neighborhood of $300, adding just under 2000 more pages to be read.

Currently I'm reading The Last Dragonlord by Joanne Bertin. It's a decent book, if you're into mythological/fantasy novels. I was reading Death of a Healer by Paul Henry Young. That one is about a neurosurgeon named Jake who runs into false accusations of faulty practices, lawsuits, and just basically being ganged up on by other neurosurgeons and medical practitioners because of his high standing in the medical community. One thing leads to another and his wife dies, he gets re-married to one of his former nurses and she dies when her plane blows up. I stopped reading there because the story was getting dry and depressing.

Anywho, I spend a LOT of time reading and I'm proud to say that Im a nerd/bookworm >_>;

The last book I spent my time reading was the book "The Giver"
Its about a boy who lives in a society where everything is the same,people are,what they do,how they live,ect.Well he doesn't like it and he finds a way to go against the society and he meets some old man( I think,this is the last book i've read but that was a little time ago since i read mainly manga now*lol*)and he tells him some way how he can and then after that the boy changes the whole society where everyone and thing is different.Yep I think thats how it happens(lol)

Since I'm in English Festival at my school, I've been given at least 8 books I have to read before the tournament in April. One of the books that I was given, was called "The Kite Runner" .. I think it's a movie now? Or at least I think it will be.. o_o; It was really good, and well written in my opinion. Although it can be graphic at some parts.. it has an all-around great storyline and shows how real life can be.

Also, just a quick question... Is Tru Calling a book series at all? Oo; Just wondering if anyone would know that since I adore the TV series.

btw, if anyone's looking for a good laugh.. I think you should look into "Teen Angst" .. it's a "celebration of bad poetry" .. :3 Veryy funny. Another one of my English Fest books.
