Which do you prefer?

Personally I hate reading subtitles. 90% of communication is non-verbal and it's hard to catch if you are reading.

I'm so used to reading them I don't even notice it anymore.


I don't like dubbing much because the voices for the characters are bleh.

Anyways, I like subs better, but some dubs are decent, like: Chobits, DearS and DBZ.

I like Sub better.
Sometimes i'll be reading sub and hear them speaking in japanese and then like later i won't be reading the subs,i'll just belistening and somehow later i know what they said.(lol) Yes uber weird but true.

I like watching it in Japanese with English subs...then in English with English subs to see if the dub and sub tell the same story...Then If I put something on as I'm tired and going to bed it will be English because well I don't want to read in that situation.

Also sometimes if the English dub is really bad I'll watch it with that. It just gives it a little something....special? I dunno..The Bad dubs can be entertaining at times...

And I swear todays "bad" English dubs are nowhere near as bad as most of the English dubs from 15+ years ago...

Agreed. I know a bad dub can be really annoying. But the quality of dubs these days is really nice.


Although I have resigned to reading subtitles. I watched all the death note episodes that exist in english

Well dub can be okay in all but i much better prefer sub animes.Besides i'll occasionally watch an anime dub but thats about it.

I don't ever remember watching a bad dub anime before though.I just think i much better prefer sub animes.

Guys, if you get the DVD of the anime, you should at least give the dub a CHANCE. Okay, yes, way back when anime was only on VHS, dubs were less than good and certainly almost inferior to the sub. But it's really different now and if you continue to remain close-minded, you are REALLY missing out on A+ quality voice-acting. D:
