There are a lot of American animation that I liked, such as Teen Titans, Foster's Home, Batman, Superman, etc.
But I would chose Japanese animation, the stories and characters are usually more developed.
A joke between my sister and I... Don't mind me.
I'm a big fan of Japanese anime. It's not like I never watched American animations, but most of them are for younger kids. I remember I used to love things like Tom and Jeary. I would still probably watch it, but I'm at school when they show it, so I can't.
Sig no longer in development...
Folks ...personally i thinking in american animation ....but i liked japanese animation too, now the japanese animation rocks, but your little brother the american animation should make millionanire adventure like Lion king the super production of Disney studios
Anime DEFF.
It's Japanese anime for me

Definitely Japanese animation. I love how the characters look, and the stories tend to be better.

When Jerry Jones asked Deion Sanders whether he wanted ten million or twenty million to play for the Dallas Cowboys, he simply smiled, and responded, "Both."
(You probably know where this is going.)
When Cameron Lau asked everyone if they preferred Japanese Anime or American Animation, I grinned cheerfully, and voted, "Both."
"Coach, how do you eat cream puffs?"
"Cream puffs, you ask? Well... I start by splitting it in half... and eating the lid after dipping it in the cream from the bottom... and then I eat the bottom half. This way, I don't have to worry about any cream spliing out... while maintaining a balance between cream and puff."
I recently read up on some anime articles and I now like anime 100x better than American Animation now! One thing it said in particular was, "American animation never digs that deep into situaitons, than anime does." And anime has a feeling of failiarority(wrong spelling) in which we can all relate to. I agree!

I like Japanese anime, otherwise I would be here you know!
~♡Ѻnn@♡~
definatly anime!!! am a "hard core anime fan" as a friend once called me xD
I rep back, just make sure you leave your name
right at the start i would have said ANIME!!!!!!!111111 W00t!. but after i think about it i realize that both styles have an equal impact on me. almost to the point the sometimes i can't tell which is which. i guess i originally thought that western animations were strictly kids shows, like scooby-do and flintstones. while Amine could and usually did have more mature concepts and themes.
but as i looked deeper into it i discovered that American animation was following the mature trend as well. i.e Harvy bird man, Southpark. so now days both Japanese and American Animations have an almost equal range of appeal.
Very true. Though the Americans are afraid to dig into those more, "serious" situations that the Japanese aren't afraid to dive into. And Americans don't like investing in cartoons and that's why in the movies, they remain a kid thing(with the exception of South Park the movie).

There's nothing about afraidness. It's a question of audience, something most of you still fail to realize. You're comparing animes aimed at teenagers and adults to children's shows. Let's compare Battlestar Galactica and The Sopranos to Pee Wee Herman and Captain Kangaroo, while we're on that track! They're both live action, obviously they must be aimed at the same audience and can be judged by the same criteria!
All my Let's Plays can be found here!
Currently LPing: Rome Total War:
Latest Update:
Chapter 3: The Last King of Carthage.
Start from the beginning:
Chapter 1: Sicily Unified.
anime is way better than cartoons. But as Opinionated said we are comparing anime who are aimed to teenagers and adults with cartoons which are aimed to kids so everybody has his opinion.
japanese all the way! i don't like american cartoons at all! well, some, but not too many.
my favourite animes:
Tokyo Mew Mew
Naruto
Full Moon wo Sagashite
those are just my faves, i've seen a lot more that i enjoy!

I like the japanese anime because I can learn more Japanese and it sounds way normal than the america kind, and it sounds better. And its original
I would have to say that I like anime better than American cartoons. This, however, does not mean that do not like American cartoons, but, as some people have said before, most American cartoons are trying to appeal to younger children, which is why there are not a lot of cartoons that are made for more mature audiences (Avatar: The Last Airbender is the only American cartoon that I can think of that was made to appeal not only to children but to older kids as well).
One thing I like about anime is the amount of depth that is put into the show. The characters are vey developed and the visuals are beautiful. American cartoons do have this. I will say that there are some anime that do not follow a deep plot, have complex characters or have moving visuals (Crayon Shin Chan, for one ).
Sure, there have been some good examples of good American animation, but they have mostly been animated movies. Lion King, Mulan, and The Iron Giant are all great movies but they are not examples of American cartoons.
This is my war face.
This is what happens to trolls who mess with me.
Batman: TAS, X-men (90's version), Beast Wars (although it's Canadian), Justice League, Samurai Jack, Teen Titans, the recent TMNT series (Shedder getting "decapitated" made my jaw drop), etc. all have mature elements. There are more of them around than you'd think. Heck, I didn't even like the 90's Batman as a kid, but now I love it.
Also, the upcoming Wolverine and the X-men looks pretty mature, especially given the opening scene in the trailer.
Japanese <3
(why do i live in Denmark. need to watch em on the net :'(. wanna watch em in the tv)
