I think that the Japanese anime its a bit lazy... They drawings are good but a lot of the surrounding's is "freezed" and not moving at all...
I'm speaking to a Goddess! No offense to you, or the Japanese, but NizeGuy is kind of right. The people in Dragonball Z use the 3 frames method, which reuses frames. And most of the anime is just taken to the computer and done their, plus, there's more animation in a 5 second scene from Soth Park than there is an entire episode of DBZ! How's that for laziness?! But the Japanese still are better in my opinion, so, yeah.
Oh, Hi-deeki, imagine... your kind not eating raw fish! ^_^

Japanese anime. Graphics and character drawings are far, far better than the American Animation. Huhuhu...

Japanese cartoons , may too bloody or violence
The quality and the way it's drawn doesn't change the fact that it's just simple lines filled in, same with "American" cartoons. It may have more detail, but, we can just add the details to the cartoons.
Oh, and, quality of the plot really has nothing to do with it. Iron Giant is the deepest animated movie I've ever seen and it's from America.
On this day of days, most epic and prideful, you were born 15 whole American years ago!
Through the odds and by doing the impossible, you beat out hundreds of thousands of siblings in the great sperm race for the coveted egg.
Probably via hax.
Regardless! You won!
So remember, whenever someone picks on you or calls you weak or small.
Just remind them that you beat out a few hundred thousand other wimps.
And the grand prize was not dying!
If you try to compare an American anime and a Japanese you will see that the American style is a bit different, but the frames is much higher than the Japanese style. The Japanese style have more detailed "front" characters, though the backgrounds just looks like a picture with no movements at all :S
Thats a bit sad if you ask me

Well Memento Mori, there is a slight difference.
The Japanese have drawn sketches, lined, inked, and then cel-shaded before animation. Then comes the process of the voice actors synchronising to the imagery.
The Americans do things slighting differently, similar process, except the voice actors come in during the sketching process... The animators have to match up the characters to the voice of the actors, this was primarily used with Disney.
I chose both, but Anime still wins it.
American animation has lots of potential, to give an example how about Marvel comics?
I got into the New Avengers graphic novels, stunning artwork and good character development. Then they released an animated movie for it, which was again developed in the traditional process.
Having seen the movie, the characters, detail of animation and plot events have all been simplified, to the standard of a normal cartoon. Because of this, I assume that America still views that cartoons are just for kids, and not adults. And hence why American animation is behind that of the Japanese quality.
The Japanese have experimented with camera angels, exaggerated poses and bloody violence - I've seen some of this in American graphic novels, but not in animated movies/series.
Well I have always loved animie more so ya I think that explains it well enough

Whoever just drped me because they said that I "base my opinion on looks" must be one heck of a numbskull. Anime has more depth, more emotion, more character development. A PLOTLINE. Most American cartoons are separate of each other as individual stories. NOOOOO! Anyways, whoever dreps someone because they are ASSUMING they know their opinion, SHOULD WAIT AND ACTUALLY FIGURE OUT THEIR OPINION.
Japanese anime for me! They are really interesting. It's like watching real persons with their lives. I feel like when I am watching anime, I watch real people. It's like one of those book writers said (forgot the name): "anime is the story of life". I guess he does have a point.
Depends on where you're watching. Adult Swim keeps the cursing in. Straight-to-DVD animes ususally keep cursing as well. Also, Naruto has profanity in the unedited dub on the DVD.
However, from what I've heard, the Japanese words for "profanity" can be translated several ways. So if a dub says "darn it" or "heck", it may not be as off as you think.
At times it often depends who the American distributor is aiming the anime too....

Asking on an Anime board? of course the answer will be biased :P
I like japanese anime better. But I also like some american animations too, such as Avatar: The Last Airbender.
