    Post Sci-Fi's lame attempts.

I think that recent Sci-Fi movies from around 2000-2007 are 2nd rate, cheap and poorly made movies! Like my biggest turn off is Raptor(2001), they reused the footage from all 3 Carnosaurs movies and only 25% of the footage was actually theirs! And since computer technology has advanced, you don't even need decent actors anymore and that many film sets. Now, monsters look soooo fake and you can tell it's all CGI crap! Recent ones like: Dinocroc, Lake Placid 2, The Eye of the Beast, Kraken:Tentacles of the deep, and even Carnosaur is a shame to all of Sci-Fi! Anyone agree with me? Though I don't like it, you guys should check out the Carnosaurs movies and Raptor just to see footage reused, horrible actors, and enough rubbery-popsicle stick dinos to annoy the heck out of you!

Lake Placid is a shame to Sci-fi? I Thought it was pretty good.

Anyway, you're somewhat right on how monsters in movies look fake, but if you watch the original King Kong, be glad we have the monsters we have today.

Also, you may not like it just because it's not your type of movie perhaps?
On this day of days, most epic and prideful, you were born 15 whole American years ago!
Through the odds and by doing the impossible, you beat out hundreds of thousands of siblings in the great sperm race for the coveted egg.
    Probably via hax.
    Regardless! You won!
So remember, whenever someone picks on you or calls you weak or small.
Just remind them that you beat out a few hundred thousand other wimps.

And the grand prize was not dying!

I think you have been watching to much of the sci-fi channel. The sci-fi channel is known for putting worthless stupid crap films up that usually go like this. Oh no science got out of hand and now there is a 50 reptile on the loose. Oh look a really hot doctor is some how involved in the plot. Hey lets get a whole bunch of guns and bombs to blow the sucker up! Oh noes! It failed lets get the army and special effects team in it. Oh wait we used all the money up and can't get decent writers. Oh well.

    That's how it goes.

But the best sci-fi movie i have seen in a while would be I am legend.

Oh man, I remember this one Sci-Fi Original... I swear, the "monster" was a guy with a store-quality Halloween mask on TOP of his head. Not on, no, his head was pretty clearly where the thing's neck was.

It was perhaps the worst movie I've ever seen in earnest. It belonged squarely in the annals of MST3k history.

Now if only they used that money to fund their shows instead, they'd be doing better than playing host to professional wrestling.

Oh man- me and my friends have loads of fun with the Sci-fi channel! We'll put (insert crappy sci fi flick here) on mute and talk for the characters, hahaha. I love that channel for the cheesy factor.
Oh yeah, that channel's movies are downright embarassing... I miss when they'd have themed movies for the weekends. Like nothing but zombie flicks on one Saturday, vampire movies for that Sunday, etc... I miss that. Sigh. lol

SciFi is one of my favorite channels I've seen every sea creature, dinosaur, giant bug, etc movie they've come out with. Sure, I'll admit most of them sucked.. But at least it was something to do in my spare time.

I prefer watching any of the series they have on there.. Like Stargate or Kingdom Hospital.. I don't know if those are scifi origionals but they're way better than the other stuff.

I swear I'll kill one of the directors if they make another giant octorpus or squid movie.. I mean come on.. Only so many things you can do with a single monster.

The most recent vampire/werewolf movie I saw on there was the worst effects I've seen in my life. Giant spiders is another stupid one though I think I've only seen one good one, I forget what it was called.. I've seen all their shark movies so many times throughout my life I memorized what happens next..

And honestly I don't jump at watching new scifi movies anymore..

    The reason its all rubbish:
Because rubbish conforms to the theory of a good series according to the heads of the channel (sci-fi).
Evidence of this theory: Fire Fly was cancelled because it was a non-conformist sci-fi - it did something other sci-fis did not do and were not conformed to thus it was dropped.

If you need more evidence that the sci-fi channel is run by idiots who have no interest in sci-fi - just take a look at the Earthsea film they made. It was so bad that the author of the book went out and officaily removed her support for the film.

Though I think most of Sci-Fi's movies today pretty much lack in all categories, I do think that the older Sci-Fi movies are much better. Godzilla for example, in 1985 and vs. Biolante he looked his best, though it was a guy in a rubber suit, atleast it looked realistic in those two particular movies! Godzilla today lacks, because, like I said, they use too many obvious synthetic sets and CGI technology. I love Sci-Fi movies, infact, I'm a Sci-Fi nerd! It's just the newer movies that upset me.

Firefly was dropped by Fox, mainly due to the fact that episodes were shown out of order and that Fox(despite wanting a successor to X-Files) put Firefly in the dead-end slot. Sci-Fi Channel picked up Firefly, showed the episodes in order, and introduced me to this gem of a show.

All but one Sci-Fi Channel original movie was crap, and that was Anonymous Rex, which was halfway to good.

It's a good thing they can hit gold with their shows and miniseries, though. Otherwise we'd have yet another crap channel on the air, one that can't be written off as stupid teenager shows.
