I find it extremely annoying when someone only reads the first post of a thread and then immediately posts whatever they want without reading the posts after it.. While this may not sound bad it usually interrupts the flow of discussion and ends up putting a bunch of stupid and random posts in the middle of a thread that has long departed from the original topic..

This is an example.. (out of the many)

I dont hate people ho dont read all the posts
If there are 15 pages i dont read it i read 1page and then post =)

There are some exceptions..

-The recently deceased band name games and things like that..
-Threads where they ask stuff like your favorite food, color, or other things like that..
-Very long threads (even then you should read the first and last pages to get an idea of whats going on)..

I'm talking about discussion threads..

I'm one of those people that actually take the time(even an hour) to read all or most replies before posting a reply. I agree with you, it is really annoying, and sometimes, I don't even know what people are talking about.

I try to read all of it, but if the OP asks for opinion, and I don't feel I need to read it all I'll post my opinion first and edit in arguments later.

Even if I didn't, and people had gone off-topic, I would be right for being on topic, not lazy. Some people choose to rerail a thread, you know.

Actually, I do find it quite annoying at some points. Since I am more of a thread reader than an actual replier, I find it annoying when I'm reading the discussion and then someone randomly states something that was long since gone. [as you stated]

i mean the story behind it, it i can relate to it.

No, it doesn't bother me. If it does bother you, do what you do in real life: ignore them and keep the conversation/debate with the person/people you're dealing with that is giving you proper answer.

I'll read posts from those I feel usually have an interesting opinion, but other than that, I usually just read the first post and either reply or get on with my life. o_0

I do dislike it though when people can't spell simple words. :/

Well i do read the whole thread (well most of the time since i sometimes lack the time i don't get to read it all) and then i just post my opinion since it was asked for.Unless there is some long discussion already then i first read that. (Well i admit sometimes i don't :P what can i say i am human)

5 pages is a lot to read. I don't really mind posts that were obviously made by people who didn't read through the thread, but I do always mind stupid posts done out of bordom and without any real thought.

Doesn't bother me. Ask a question, answer it. The person doesn't have to be a part of a debate conversation about the asked question if they don't want to.

I honestly don't read all the posts, but sometimes I do. Usually I just read the first few on the first page and all the posts on the last page. But if it doesn't have a lot of replies I read all of them.

Uh, it doesn't bother me at all, as long as at least a majority of all posts are following the discussion.

Anyway, for me it only depends on the subject. If I'm not that interested in whatever is discussed then I won't contribute or read all the pages.

I agree with Cap. 5 pages is a lot to read. Discussion threads usually have very long posts so I understand if people feel lazy sometimes.

You must be new here. Hi, welcome to AF. The home of people too lazy to read, but not to type. Please, do not pet or feed the national bird, the anime fan. If you do, they will be drawn to civilized areas and be a nuisance to the inhabitants. Tourist information is available just a few minutes walk west of here.

Yeah...I guess I see what you're saying, but sometimes people just want to say their opinion without getting involved in some conversation thats not directly related to what they want to say. Why should they wait for the discussion that's going on to end?

I don't really find it annoying. Actually this is a great example, I didn't read half of the replies for this thread because I simply didn't want to. I have better things to do than read five billion posts before even posting myself. So, no, I do not find it annoying.

How about you paste the individual posts URL instead of the entire five page thread.

People doing as you stated used too annoy me, immensely in fact. But after being here for a while I have learned that only a few members actually post anything of any interest at all. So I might skim through the posts till I reach one of these particular members, than I might read it all.

I blame the computer sometimes, for it's inability to load pages fast. I need a new one, but I'm broke, so I'm stuck with the slowest computer in the world, that can't even load certain pages! If I had a computer that actually loads and does it fast for any page, then I'll read every post. I actaully like what people have to say, even if it's an opinion or one question thread, I'll take the time to read it. I do my best!

I read a few post ( the first 2/3 and usually the last one or 2 before mine), but it is often unessicary to read all of it. I teally depends on the thread though. Like in the at this moment v689 I don't really think I need to read any.

In the defense of the people who responded to that thread, right away the option to reply with the most likely answer is taken away. A lot of people said nothing because that's what they really thought. Myself included.

Agreed though, pain in the *** when people don't read. Particularly if you're responding to a story review or something, and the author's explained a point only to have a reviewer totally ignore said point.
