Do you guys like the fillers?

I was just wondering...because, well, the fillers are...just fillers. I watched them, because it built the characters personality and all, but do you like them? Or do you with the anime had just got along with the main story-line??

I had been watching Naruto for 2.5 years by the time the filler came around. I understand it's purpose, and I know the benefits of doing it, but I honestly feel that it was almost insulting on the part of the producers to give the fans of the show 1.5 years of continuous, mindless filler. Because of this, I stopped watching the anime. I don't see why they decided to just air filler. What they could have done is begun airing re-runs, which would have saved a considerable amount of money which could have gone towards Shippuden, as well as gather more money from ad revenue and merchdising sales.

Yeah, I do like fillers. I only watched one episode from the filler vault of Naruto, and I thought that episode was pretty funny and cool. So for comedy, the fillers are okay in that. And plus more character development.

Fillers kind loose things up a bit,(Don't know about you, I get stressed after watching 40 episodes of fighting) they are fun to watch as long as they are kept short. Naruto has one of the longest fillers EVER, it gets really annoying. But I wouldn't complain too much since it's still a pretty good show overall.
Maybe you should add "Somtimes" to your poll option.

I like well-done fillers (like movies), but the fillers the anime produced were just horrendous. I watched through them all, because I'm that kind of anime fan, but it was scream-inducing, or worse. The only anime filler I really enjoyed was episode 101 (Sasuke showing emotion is always hilarious), but half of that was from the manga.

Fillers can be fun if done right, however, Naruto's fillers were not done right.

Depends on the filler. As Xero said, they're pretty much a necessary evil, and can't be avoided. But honestly, nearly 100 episodes of straight filler? Even if it involved a few extra ties ins and character exposure, none of it was canon. They should've just stopped the series when it was supposed to end.

Some fillers are necessary, but this was beyond excessive. Then again Shippuden has examples of extreme stalling, but that's a different matter altogether.

But if it's about some stupid character who's not even a main character in the story line, or even a main characters backstory it's just plain boring, i just hate them. It's like they're wasting my time. So no, no i don't like the freakin fillers...

I like fillers, makes the story and characters realistic. The main plot isn't active the entire time! Especially when the story spans for a while.
Also, people say fillers mean flashbacks, there ARE flashbacks in regular episodes too, you know.

yea, but a short thirtnd flashback is different than an entire episode. I don't mind flashbacks if they don't take up the entire episode.


The worst one for me prolly was Sakura and Ino as kids and how they became friends.......I hate those two (although I would choose Ino over Sakura anyday and I think she should have beaten Sakura).

I've only seen fillers in Naruto...
some are very decent, some just ok and some just plain stupid...
The good filler arcs give u a chance to get to know more obscure characters (i.e more screen time for Hinata...something I loved )

I heard that Bleach fillers are the worst though...guess i'll find out soon enough when i start watching it...
