I hate to say it but the New England Patriots are now undefeated through the regular season. But if they don't win The Super Bowl it means nothing.

They wont win the super bowl!
Death: a one way ticket to heaven or hell!
We'll just have to see, now won't we?
Didn't Miami completely stop them from scoring second half one game? I found that suprising.
Dallas has home advantage woohoo! (Means easy community service for me)

I hate NE with a passion, but I reluctantly accepted they were going 16-0 back after week 14. The team's a bunch of arrogant (bleeped).
They're getting awfully lucky this season as well. How many teams have suffered injury to key players at some point in this season? Where's their injuries? I'm supprised it's not happened yet, on or off the field (I'd figure that any non Pat's fan living in the area would start throwing rocks at Brady by some point).
I sincerely hope they get knocked off in the playoffs.
I don't know anything about sports... but I have a Miami Dolphins jacket and a Patriots wristband!
*rant*
I seriously hate the Patriots... i mean really they talk about them non-stop. They talk about them like they just the greatest thing the NFL has ever seen.
And then, I mean the refs are just cheating for them!! I mean a perfect example is when they were playing against the Giants last night! If you saw they did a lot of stuff that they should have called...
They just some freakin cheaters... i hope some team crushes them in the playoffs.
*rant stops*
But them Cowboys!! Whoo! We in the playoffs... all we gotta do is beat the Redskins tonight to stop them from going! lol.

Somehow their going to mess up in the playoffs
What's the super bowl? American football?
That sport either way is a wussy version of Rugby. the pads you wear make it look like a joke.
I'm being honest. I'm sorry if i'm harsh ok? Being a Welsh Rugby fan (Who beat America + Canada to the ground) I'm kinda competitive.

About That Miami Dolphins jacket.......you might want to burn it. Also, A Patriots hater. I can't stand Juggernaut teams. Tom Brady, Wes Welker, Randy Moss, Donte Stallworth, and that front 5. ( I know I spelled alot of names wrong.) I going for the Cowboys even though I'm a Charger fan.
(Applause!)
I've always thought that if they're going to bother to ram into each other over and over, there should at least be some good potential for serious injury. I don't really like rugby, either, but I can at least stand it; whenever (American) football players are called tough, I just want to send some professional fighter(s) to their houses to beat the crap out of 'em.
I also can't stand how football games always monopolize hours of TV just so some fat, bald [expletive deleted] who haven't done anything of any significance in three decades can tell us, the ignorant viewers, what they think of every minute detail concerning the game. All sports (in the U.S., anyway) suffer from this overkill, but football is easily the worst.
As for the NE Patriots going 16-0, the only thing I have to say on the matter is...who cares? What, aside from gambling, does this affect? Geez...
I hope they lose in the superbowl and cry
And surprizingly the team i like(the giants) put up a good fight
Af's Paranormalist. Got a Question about the paranormal? PM i'll help.
I'm sure Kevin Everett would love to hear that reasoning. Or how about Marc Buoniconti? Rugby is incredibly wussy when compared with the physicality of football.
"The pads don't keep you from getting hurt, the just keep you from getting killed." and that's not even guaranteed.
Statistical odds that a football player will sustain an injury at least once in his career: 100%
"Football isn't a 'contact' sport, it's a collision sport. Dancing is a contact sport."
1) Toss names at me all you like, it will make little difference. I've told you I harbor a contempt for sports in general; why should some athletes' names matter to me? I'm so far removed that when I hear "Everett" I think of Boeing's assembly facility near Seattle, WA. "Everett" has no athletic connotation in my mind.
2) When's the last time someone was killed from an impact that didn't involve spinal injury (which the pads wouldn't protect anyway) in a football game?
3) "Statistical chances of anybody recieving a vague, unspecified injury while working: 100%." See, I can pull uncredited quotes from out of my behind, too, and even a broken finger would be "an injury."
4) ...'Kay...I fail to see how that refutes what I said...
5) Let's see 'em play without the pads, then.
6) Buzz off; this thread isn't about football v. rugby. I was expressing myself absent tact, that's all. You can't take me too seriously...
...I guess I'll go now...no sense getting myself into a sports argument unecessarily...
I did read your signature, by the way...

Kinda late for that, why post hate in a topic if you don't want an argument?
Anyway,
Kevin Everett is a player who suffered a massive spinal injury early this season, early predictions only gave him about 5% chance of survival. Marc Buoniconti was a player 23 years ago who suffered a similar injury an is now permanently paralized. Other players with serious injuries include Carson Palmer, who suffered a devistating knee injury in 2005 and had to undergo reconstructive surgery and transplanted parts. Concussions and broken limbs are also commonplace across the leauge, I've even got a personal experiance one from high school where I knocked our opponents CB unconcious, incidental contact as well I wasn't really trying to hit him.
As for the quotes, I've been digging through some books trying to find them. No luck so far
My school team has a saying for rugby. "You're on the ground, you ARE the ground!"
Or another personal favourite: "Trample the weak, hurdle the dead!"
Rugby is the supreme test of strength, endurance, determination, and agility. Football players wear more protection and take less physical abuse than the rugby players.
ANYWAY -
FOOTBALL -
Taken from someone NOT MINEI define the word toughness as endurance, physically and mentally. To compare the ‘toughness’ of the two codes we will have to look at the actual game itself. First off American Football. To put it simply in terms of endurance it sucks. I mean the game is divided into 4 (four) quarters of FIFTEEN MINUTES EACH! Take into consideration that 53 (FIFTY THREE) players (they have two teams, one attack and one defense) can play during this hour long match and each player would get like 15 minutes game time. Don’t forget either that a majority of these players just stand there and run into the other players five yards away then leave the field. WOW such toughness, you had to walk out onto the field AND BACK AGAIN! OMG! Take into consideration that this hour game sometimes last 3 hours because of the stop start nature and you begin to realise that fitness does not play a factor in Grid-iron.
Of course if you only play 15 minutes over three hours of stop-start gameplay you obviously don’t need mental endurance now do you. Another thought just occurred to me. If you have to break your game into 4 quarters that obviously says something about either the attention span of the spectators, or the lack of excitement in the game.
Also, the argument on the point of padding is rather stupid. American: We wear padding and we still get killed. To me that says two things. Either that even when you have a great deal of padding you still manage to get injured, or that your game is so primitive that its rulebook does not prevent serious injury. Either way, being injured is not a sign of ‘toughness’ as it were. Anyone can get injured, it doesn’t take anything special except maybe a lack of intelligence. And in American football if you do get injured the game is stopped immediately (surprise, surprise) and you are removed from the game.
That kinda says everything. >.>Now let’s look at rugby. A team of 19 players play 1hour and twenty minutes divided into 2 halves. That’s forty (40) minutes per half. Take into consideration the fact that some matches involve up to five minutes of extra time per half and you suddenly have a game of 90 minutes – that takes real stamina and endurance. Approximately 10 players from each team will play the full game. Rugby in its nature is very free flowing and quick. It involves a great deal more skill than American football. It is very much a team sport where everyone must contribute to win. The forwards must break the advantage line or risk losing the ball – that’s everytime they touch it. They must also be able to work together in situations such as scrums – where both forward packs bunch up and attempt to push the other pack back and line-outs – where the ball is thrown 5m into the field at a height of 2-3m and players must lift the others to catch it with both teams contesting. Backs MUST be able to play the full game at 100% and do as much physical work as their forwards. This means SMALLER MEN against BIGGER MEN without the protection of padding and teammates to HOLD the other team back.
If you get injured in rugby the game WILL play on around you. Their have been instances where players have stayed injured with broken necks, arms, dislocated shoulders etc for five minutes on the ground, play continuing, until the ball goes dead. In a lot of these instances, the player simply has his shoulder, finger whatever strapped, put back into place and sent back out. There are less injuries in rugby and they DO NOT wear FULL BODY PADDING. To me that suggests that rugby players are simply tougher and do not wimp out like NFL players.
In rugby you go through the opposition. You don’t throw the ball over there heads.

Let's just see if the New England Patriots can keep up their winning streak. If not, I'd be seriously disappointed.

Goooo Red Socks!
I love how everybody loves Tom Brady and thinks hes a god.
"OMG Tom Brady can do anything!! blah, blah, blah"
I'm lying.
I don't love it, I hate it.
They're gonna win it all..
I saw Tom Brady play High School football.
He and Barry Bonds have something in common.
The Pack is gonna win the super bowl. Just like last time. Ahhh I remember it well, even though I was in 3rd grade. I won $20 bucks in a bet back in 1998 when the packers beat the patriots in the super bowl.
Patriots are too good. I'm a packer fan, and I can easily see them making it to the super bowl. But honestly it will be an upset if they beat the patriots.
Two sides of the same coin; when happiness is unknown, sorrow has no meaning. The pain is lessened.
Just to be a smartalick. The patriots are now at 17-0
