Has anyone had rumors spread about them in school?

Of course. I start most of them myself, to see how outrageous a rumor actually can catch on. Let me tell you, there are no limits to the bizarre things people will swallow hook, line and sinker.

During my school days, there were several rumors about myself and they didn't bother me too much. As long as you have some good friends, this trash won't bring you down.

Apparently rumors were being spread about me and I had absolutely no idea until YEARS later!! See me and my best friend used to be really close in high school, I mean REALLY close, and everyone knew it! We'd always go to the bathrooms together, were rarely seen without each other etc. Then one day after lunch we came back to class wearing each others pants (we got bored or our own and were practically the same size, so we switched! ^.^) and everyone aready thought we were a bit weird, which we were. But then after that people coming coming up to our other best friend and asking her if we were lesbians, because it somehow got around that we were! Lol! Granted my friend asking to go the bathroom, then asking the teacher if I could come with her was a little suspicious! Lol!! We were really just trying to get out of class though! =P Anyways, my other best friend only recently told me of this and I nearly died of laughter! Because obviously it wasn't true! But I think that's the only rumor about me that I know of! My sister had it going around that she wasn't pregnant and that's why here and her boyfriend were going to get married, which also wasn't true!

I don't like rumors though, they're generally mean and hurtful to people and totally false. I hate gossip and people who do it. >.<

The stuff I've heard from others are only rumors about me liking someone when I don't. That's about it. Otherwise, I don't pay attention or carry on gossip.
If I have an opinion that has thought to it and the topic relates to a bigger idea (such as underage sex), then I'll repeat my opinion to others. I'm not one to say, "She's such a 'ho[e]!" if I'm not among friends or kidding around with them.

Back in my glory days I made good grades and I happen to miss a lot of school. Rumours started spreading around that I had quit school and enrolled at a local college when I missed a week of school.

We had a lot of funny rumors in our school. Even funnier when they turned out to be true. Like when the QB of our football team got the Clap (How cliche` of him)

I've had plenty of rumors spread about me,and of course everytime someone tries to start them they get either a foot up there *** or my friends handle it.Either way they stop and I don't have to worry about it.

Yeah, one or two, none true. And I was shocked when I heard what people said about me, and how vicious people can be. But I've learned to laugh at the stories people come up with and also ignore them. Its so weird and sad how people can make up stuff about you and them everyone except your close friends believes whoever told them the story.

When it comes to the whole social/backstabbing thing in high school, my friends and I mostly stay under the radar. It's pointless and ruins relationships in an instant.

One, that I hooked up with this guy named Seson, It only lasted about a day.

That I was a lesbian, but it was only a joke between a few boys in my PE class.

Ah, yes. The things your peers will come up with. Astounding, really.

When in 7th grade I suffered a long term illness which resulted in my being hospitalized for 11 days. News spread that I was there, and apparently the story passed around was that I was in a bubble o.O My guess is Seinfeld was on the brain (most likely candidate, really), but, really... I wonder who it was who started that one. Aside from my friends, I know of only one person who actually SAW me in the hospital. But I can't see him starting something like that. Ours was a relationship of mutual respect.

The better one was high school where, as you know, gossip reigns supreme. I was always a private person, so it was only my closest friends who knew I was dating a guy in Australia. The rest of the class took my seeming disinterest in guys and dating as first an oddity, and then a sign of my being a lesbian. I was more amused than upset. I suppose my tomboyish ways and tendency to beat male peers in arm wrestling didn't help XD It didn't last. And certainly not now that I'm married to that same Australian.

I suppose the most hurtful were the ones spread by a friend of mine. I had inadvertently been the cause of her being called to a guidance councilor's office to discuss her cutting herself. I sucked it up and faced her. She was, naturally, angry for a time and spread vicious rumors about me. Then she got over it and retracted them. She told me later she was glad it had happened.

I remember one time when one of my friends and me started a random rumor, by telling two people at end of a school day to see how fast rumors spread. By the next morning about I'll say about 100 people heard it. Then we came to a conclusion that rumors spread really really...... really fast and that people can't keep information to themselves.

A few were tossed around about me in public school days. (This one made me laugh) One of the rumors was that I was gay which isn't true, everyone (but the teachers) thought that because I didn't have lust the prettiest girl in the school.
