i might be gone before that happens so um, i'm not sure if the future generation will be surviving till that happens 0-o ,might happen, I'm not saying it won't till then, there could be a possibility that it could happen XS
Beside the long term effects of zero gravity on human physiology, we still need to deal with cosmic rays and the effects of long term exposure which leads to radiation poisoning and cancer-related disease; few of the effects of unshielded space travel. Note, we still finding cost-effective way to shield or slowdown the effects of these deadly particles on human. (You wouldn't get any super power(s) or ability(ies) if you're exposure to it either)
Also, if we want explore and colonize Jupiter, we have to protect ourselve from the Jovian magnetosphere. Somehow, we need to wear space suit made of lead to shield from the effects of its powerful magnetic field.... Jupiter could, if we adapt
Therefore, granted with unlimitd resources with less red tape involve and commitment of global community (usually the developed countries) on manned space travel, we should able to send our first human to Mars, within 50 -100 years by a long shot.
yeah its so possible, i just bought Mass Effect on the 360 can't wait too talk to a Krogan.
if people do i'll stay here no matter what happens i'll force people to stay here and be my slaves =D

in 20 years on mars with colonies ? we need a revolution on technology then ^^...lets try the moon first...and why live on a planet thats considered 'dead'? no food,water,oxygen..just rocks and sands..if something should go wrong...all of the people in the colonies are....?...no reason to live outside our planet especially on the 'dead' ones..instead we should conctrate on living more efficient on our planet

It's surface consists of gas which has turned solid from the extreme pressure. That's a pressure that's 50,000 times stronger than our atmosphere. That's 2500 times more than the pressure of the depth where when our best submarines literally crumple up like soda cans.
That, and the fact that the atmosphere, mixed with oxygen is explosive, makes Jupiter a very stupid place to colonize. In fact, as far as celestial bodies in the solar system that are stupid to colonize go, Jupiter is only beaten by the sun.
Also, this

Hey look, Japan made a movie about me!
whoopie bloody 'larday' lets look into this to much 'dar'.
If we go along with Total recall the TV series, we are so going to kick *** in space. I just watched Zathura, man we are so gonna rule. Wiki told me so... or if i wait a few years Christian (John Connor) Bale will lead me the way in "T4: he's 30 now"
No. It will take some more time then just 20 years I think.
Waiting for
Christmas
Season four of Sherlock
The new Hobbit movie
Season five of Game of Thrones
New episodes of Downton Abbey
I don't think gravity will be a problem by the time man is advanced enough to live on mars, obesity is bad enough at the moment, wait till 500 years, or more...
I would rather a holodeck to teleport me to work and back, having man move to mars seems so pointless and helpful in no way, unless for population control... But bombing a couple of countries is far more cost efficient.

But then how will we get to the rich and creamy nougat-y center?

I dont think we'll be living on Mars that soon. The world has too many things on its plate as it is.
Derp.
Next 20 years? Nah.
But it's plausible that there might be life on Mars in the far future.
Trying not to get all scientific and all.
That was cool and interesting. But in just next 20 years, I don't think we can make it.

Yeah I want this explained to me also I think she meant about Jupiter size compaired to the Earth's size??? o.O but I am not entirely sure dont quote me on that one
I did remember her saying that something about our population not being able to be contained on Mars (i was thought that Mars and Earth were about the same size so i dont understand that either)
Like i said before no our techonogoly is not up to snuff yet
No, it will never be like it is in stuff like total recall.

We nearly have the means,we nearly have the basis, but overall I think we'll nuke ourselves into a 500 year hole. They have been talking about terraforming mars, and that takes anywhere from 20-150 years. The technology to do that is another 20 years off.Scientists are finally given more freedom in the government to advance us in that direction. From everything on the science channel and magazines,as well as press conferences, scientists are really focused on 2 big findings on a moon orbiting Jupiter. They also found a promising planet 1,000 light years away, just outside of our system.
Maybe when human beings can put aside religious differences, shiny pieces of crap, and worthless patches of dirt, we can start expanding our reach and ensuring our survival long after our sun burns out in a few millenia.
I have to agree with the majority in this case. There is no way. We humans are only even remotely interested in mars because we cant take care of our own planet by giving up a few luxuries and money. Besides, i think we were given THIS planet for a reason, and that there isnt life on mars for a reason. Because Mars is uninhabitable.
Anyway, i agree with the previously said. The end of the world will come way before we ever figure out a possibility of living on mars.
Sorry if i bursted someones bubble...

Deff not in 20 years.
We wont even have floating cars by then.
Maybe in the next 200?
Never, absolutely not! Not in 1 million years! I love Earth, it is my home and everyone else's and would never move! You'd have to kill me, and drag my dead body to get me physically there!
Oh, Hi-deeki, imagine... your kind not eating raw fish! ^_^

By the time we heat up Mars enough to make it habitable, cover it with plants, give it an atmosphere, and bring enough water and enough food to survive, we will already have invented hyperspace anyway and will be at that other Earth-like planet they found not too long ago.
