it doesn't matter people, everyone has a friend thats just a plain ***, and thats just one thing she said you never know if shes always like that.
Gay doesn't matter, its just the base insult for teenagers and young adults...and pre-teens
while I don't approve homosexuality, I think your friend is *****
As long as the person claiming to be homosexual isn't saying so to be cool, then it is fine I think. Any more there are kids out there claiming to be bi when they are only like 12 or 13 years old.
I think it is wrong for people to discriminate against those who are attracted to same sex. I personally find it a little disgusting when I see pictures of boys kissing boys and girls kissing girls, but what kills me is when people who hate the gays and lesbians are the ones thinking those are "soo hawt" (some guys think girl on girl is cool and some girls think guys on guys are cool). It makes no sense.
some people are just clueless i mean if I am not saying that eveeryone point od view should be the same but i mean to tell someone that they think they should die for the simple fact of his/her sexual perferance. I am proud to say that one of my best friends in the world is gay and i would not change one thing about him. I am sometime shocked by just how narrow minded some people can be at time it really makes you think doesn't it?
Yeah I cool with it.
I mean no one can tell you
who to fall in love with right.
I don't find anything bad about gays, though it may depend on how they treat other people. I mean, some gays... are Over Acting. [and it's kinda annoying.. I don't mean to offend anyone. >_>].
It's alright for me, if they mean something amusing or they don't actually do anything irritating.
And about what your friend said about your uncle. That's not nice.
Poor her, she's been fired with a lot of negative comments here.
The friend was the friend of the topic starter, not the friend of the uncle. I've had friends who talked about about my uncles before. I usually don't let that stuff determine a friendship.
I don't believe that gay sex is moral. It's on the level of premarital sex. I was raised to believe that if you are going to have sex, it should be with your spouse, and your spouse should be of the opposite gender.
What did your uncle really do to piss your friend off is what I am wondering...
I'm not neccessarily a fan of it.. but I don't really care
for humanity, my only concerns lie with evil- which includes war against humanity, suffering, sadistic towards living, and/or bizzare habbits hurting others.
As for people who are gay, the world burdens heavily on them, people who are different tend to scare society such as mutants in X-men (though that's taking it a little over board) because they aren't considered normal.
So what's normal? Like I said.. as long as they don't mean any harm there's no reason to hate anyone because of what they are or like. Unless of course they like drinking human blood x_x, in that case.. we'll just slowly walk the other way and not make any eye contact
there are scarier people out there.. believe me.
However.. there are tons of "OLD GAY MEN" who preferably target young boys.
That there my friends is what you should worry about if you have little sons.

All of that is completely silly. Why would you even ask something like that? People can do what they want. And the ones that say they deserve to die because they have different tastes are just silly. I have no problems with gay people. If someone else fears it or hates it, that is their issue. You shouldn't have to ask if it's ok to be what you want to be. c.c I mean, gee golly, life is short do what makes you happy. And those that say otherwise and look down on people to the point of wishing for their death, well, they're just screwed. The world is full of people, they can go stick to their beliefs or whatever and hide under the bed, or come out and deal with the real world. =/
I have no idea why I bothered with this, it's just silly. c.c Are you in that much doubt you have to ask for even more peoples' opinions, because a lot of people are like that and will give you what they truely think.
I suppose asking people for their opinion is alot different than experiencing people's reactions first hand.
uncertainty, fear maybe, just remember opinions are just opinions.. people try to be nice no matter what the situation.
The real world.. you won't always get nice people, you must confront and stand up for yourself and not assume people will act a certain way because of what others have told you.
my advise is, always prepare for the worst (of course hope for the best as well)

Hide it, Hide it, Hide me
'Gay' is just an excuse to have oral sex. Of course it's okay.

Even 'if' it is wrong to be gay, shouldnt your friend atleast respect an elderly person?
I think a lot of people (Especially older people, not so much our generation), have a bad view on gays because of pedophilia. You hear about pedophiles all the time. Molesting little girls and boys. And what they see is "Hmm, that guy molested a little boy. Is that what gay people are about?" I know that may sound idiotic to you....but we can all agree on the amount of idiots in the world. If people would learn to separate the two, then it wouldn't be so bad.
Yeah, like what people said above me..."You shouldn't consider someone like that as your friend."
I always viewed 'gay' as something casual. To be honest, gay people don't bother me at all.
Relating back to your topic, I think that it is okay to be gay. And no one deserves to die because of it.
Oh and I'm sorry to hear the bad news about your uncle.

While I have great trouble believing the explanations of and defenses for homosexuality used by politicians and media, I don't see anything wrong with being gay.
My only problem is when people say they're proud to be gay.
I'm a heterosexual, but I don't trumpet it up and down the street...
If it isn't a choice, then why be proud? Seems like it just is, like ethnicity.
Who really cares? It shouldn't matter. Be proud about something you've done, some great achievement that can dazzle the world with its brilliance, not who you were born as...
Your friend is to be ignored in such an instance as the present one. They are foolish to say that homosexuals deserve death. It would not have been so bad if their sentiments had been expressed politely and without the death wish, but...get rid of that friend right away. Somebody wishing death upon your family (unless, of course, you felt the same way) is NOT an amiable person.
Okay, when discussing religious groups, I know a lot of super-conservative people who are okay with the fact that I have a girlfriend. I know a lot of others who would be absolutely horrified at the prospect. It all depends on who you're talking about. My best friend, for example, "doesn't like the idea, but if you're happy, then that's what matters."
I could understand homophobia if gay people were doing all the child-molesting. Sadly for the religious right, they aren't. Verbatim from one of my psychology books: "The typical profile for a child sexual abuser/pedophile is a middle-aged heterosexual man, who targets young girls."
PSA: If you're going to bad-rep me, do these three things.
1. Learn which one is bad-rep. Green=good.
2. Grow a pair and tell me to my face. Average amount that I check reputation: About once every three weeks or so.
3. Sign the bad rep. At least have the guts to announce that it was you.
With friends like that, you don't need enemies...
But to answer the question,yes..
Being gay is normal...
I mean, why couldn't you like a guy the same way you like a girl...?
We're all humans, and we can't go against our feelings...
I used to feel strange while a was around gay people, but once I talked with them,I've realized that they are normal as every other human being...
I'll even dare to say that the gays are in 80% of cases better than straight ones...
Why do I dare to say something like that, some of you might ask..?
Well,I was involved in lost of conversation ( pretty much draged into them ), and while leading a convo,I've realized something...
Gays are pretty much more romantic that straight ones, and they have greater sense of feeling...
Some of my friends used to tell me: *mate, why are you hanging out with frekin' gays..?*
My answer was *believe it or not, they're far more better friends than you ever were...*
And that's true...
Well, that's only my experience, someone might think different, but oh well...
Oh yeah, and I don't have to fear that they'll try to steal my girlfriend, lolz XD
Vixen, you won't find anyone who takes this topic more seriously than here on AF. -Sometimes-
Anyway, if your "friend" said that, then she's no friend at all. Anyone with a brain knows that cancer is no joke; if she's making offensive cracks at him (in a time where emotions are running high) simply because he's gay then she is the type of person worthy of losing all the friends she ever has.
Your uncle is no different from any other person in the world. His gender interest is different, yes, but nothing else sets him apart from the straight people.
What I want you to do is to be there for your uncle and let him know that you love him in a time where not being straight is looked down upon by many -ie the close-minded priests in the Catholic Church. Alright? As long as he knows that you love every bit of him, you'll be improving your perception of the world by setting a great example: love is not limited to a man and woman.
In short, there is nothing wrong with being gay.

I couldn't care less if you're straight, gay, autosexual, zoophilic,--do trees or the ground or rocks or junk; whatever rocks your boat.
If a gay person makes advances on me, I make it clear that I'm not interested, but still, I view it as a compliment not a form of threat or assault.
Hey look, Japan made a movie about me!
