Still, I think a 12 year old should know there is no Santa. I found out when I was maybe 7 or 8, as did my brother. Man, I'm used to mods having to set a good example, and not flame people.

To remain on topic, this is a ridiculous topic. I agree with Dorian Grey that it's better suited for a blog post, but since it's here I have to say that the OP has been living a surprisingly sheltered life if this isn't all an act to get attention/"spoil" Christmas for children.

I learned when I heard my parents playing pool one night, and we currently didn't have a pool table.
Sure enough, the next morning I had one of those 10-in-1 pool tables. Even at like 9, wasn't that hard to put 2 and 2 together.

Riight... too over- reactive i mean i found this out when i was like.....6 years old. And even then when i found out i was like, "Aw man..." But then since I knew my mom and dad were still getting me presents. Who cares if some jolly, fat, old, guy ((who's a stranger, and knows things about me whether I'm good or nice and crap...)) isn't giving me presents anymore!! It wasn't as bad as being seven and finding my mom putting candy into easter eggs the day before easter, though.

Hes a mythical legend. Who knows if he really exsisted at one point..I dont doubt that he did. Hitler was Christian. So it's safe to assume he celebrated Christmas. It's my personal hypothesis that Hitler so loved Christmas that he killed the Jews out of disgust over their celebration of Hanukkah. He only allied with japan after insisting they at least eat a cake or something on Christmas.

Santa is seen in many ways, legend, nonlegend, friend or foe, but it's however you see him in your own eyes, in my eyes i see someone who brings joy to little girls and boys from all over the world.basically it comes down to wheather you believe or not, i still believe.

Santa is just the adaptation of Nicholas in the Western culture. My siblings found out about the "real" Santa long ago. It's nothing disappointing, just get over it and move on. I just find it hard to believe that you're 15 and never found this out long ago. That is a pretty sheltered life if I ever saw one. But hey, not everyone is the same so meh.

Agreed that finding out Santa isn't real on this forum may be a threat to some readers, since judging by your post, there are those who still believe he exists. However, having said that I'll provide some opinions and maybe a little bright side on things.
When I was young I used to believe in Santa too. My parents used to give me surprise presents after I left a list under my pillow a week before. But when I turned 6 I realized that I lived in an Asian country and we don't have chimneys, so err, yeah. Unfortunately, I can't really say I wasn't entirely devastated when I came to the conclusion. I did stay up during christmas that year and next to the christmas tree but it was past midnight and no one showed up.
My mom came downstairs for a drink of water and she spotted me at the tree. She asked what I was doing and I told her I was waiting for Santa to come but added that he probably isn't real or doesn't come to our country cause we don't have houses with chimneys. My mom smiled and told me the St. Nick story. How a character was based on this kind man and his spirit of giving (which doesn't only mean presents). It was then that I realized that Santa was more than just the jolly red gift-giving man.
Bottom line? Santa's image was created as a tangible embodiment of the meaning of christmas. Unfortunately, commercialization has kinda soiled his true image.
Want another curve ball? I'm not a Christian and I don't exactly celebrate Xmas as a celebration of the birth of Christ. But I like the concept of giving and am always happy to help out in the many charities that go on during this time of year. This was what my parents taught me through using Santa. Now I'll leave it entirely up to you as to how you choose to react.

1. Santa = parents
2. Easter Bunny = parents
3. Tooth Fairy = parents
Does anyone see a pattern? Lets move on.
Religon:
4. Jesus = a pimp ( think about it.)
5. Religon in general = a hoax used to keep old cultures alive.
In conclusion,the only thing in life you can belive in is chocolate, teddy bears, and ninjas. Or chocolate ninja teddy bears.
